After a year of home office working, I needed something to help promote a better lifestyle. The polar ignite 2 did everything I was looking for: fitness orientated with good sleep tracking and an eco system that provides simple feedback and motivation. Battery life has got me through a long, active Bank-Holiday weekend and proven quick to recharge and synch. Now 6 weeks into a 10km training programme the variety of training events, automatically downloaded, has been great: stretching, core mobility, strength exercises in addition to heart rate profiled running. All this in an a light, attractive watch. Impressed.

Terrific value for money. Great watch for tracking my Les Mills online and live classes. Good for logging runs and if you keep it on 24 hours it gives you loads of info re your sleep patterns.I’m so addicted to it now I feel lost when I have to take it off to charge!

Casual runner, full time dad. Want to get back to fitness. I’ve had fitbits and garmins my entire life but wanted a watch that consolidates the two. Fitbit – great app, great sleep tracking, terrible for activities. Garmin – horrible app(too much clutter and data I don’t know what to use for), great accuracy for activities. Here comes polar.App – not as easy as fitbit but actionable data.Training programs – as good as garmin if not betterSleep – I would venture out to say this may be better than fitbit in terms of accuracyComfort – I had a fitbit charge 4 and this is surprisingly more comfortable to wear during sleep!Fitspark and nightly recharge – integrates your sleep with your training! For the ignite 2 itself:Screen is great, slight lag but I understand it’snot an apple watch. It looks good enough for me to wear of business casual occasions. Battery life 3-5 days with 30-45 min gps activity daily. I connected to an external HR monitor(moofit) without issues too.So far so good in my week of ownership.Disclaimer: I have a fitbit charge 4 and garmin instinct solar to compare this watch to.Plan to return the charge 4 and keep the instinct solar(love it for its 3-4 week battery life). But for all my daily needs, I think we have a winner!

This watch has been a fantastic fitness aid to me. I only wish it had a lower minimum brightness for when I used it at night.

I’m just getting back into running after being sidelined the last couple years by an injury. It’s been years since I had a dedicated running watch but I wanted something with a few more running-specific features than my Apple Watch. My watch journey over the last month began with a Garmin Forerunner 245, on to the Forerunner 745 and then to the first Polar Ignite, which I bought unaware that the Ignite 2 (Ig2) would be released two days later. Returned the Ignite and have been using the Ig2 for the last few days and am loving it. It has just the right amount of higher-end, and unique, features to satisfy my needs. The Polar Flow app could use some work but is heads and tails above the comparable apps by Garmin, COROS and Suunto (IMHO). The touchscreen isn’t the greatest but I like that the Ig2 has the ability to keep the screen on during exercise (the original Ignite does not have that option). The Polar Flow training program is working better for me than Garmin’s did and the user interface of the Ig2 is so much easier to navigate than Garmin’s (again, IMHO). The GPS and heart rate sensors work well enough. And the Ig2 feels a little more premium than the plastic-y first-generation Ignite, although it will never replace my Apple Watch for daily wear.Lastly, the Nightly Recharge function is brilliant! I wear the watch at night and it tells me the next day how ready my body is for training. I think this device and that one game-changing feature just replaced my Whoop Strap 3.0 and its expensive monthly/yearly subscription!Bottom line, this watch probably won’t replace the higher-end watches for triathletes and marathoners but it is perfect for my goals of getting in better shape and running the occasional 5K.

Perfect for tracking activity, sleep and training. Lots of sports to choose from, the heart rate and GPS have both been accurate. The Fitspark workouts are great as they guide you in each session. The battery life is good and it charges quickly. Also great for tracking my runs and lengths when swimming. I also like the music and having the weather is a bonus. It looks good, is light, slim and fits my small wrist well. Its’ a great watch.
