10 reviews for Oral-B Smart 1500 Electric Power Rechargeable Battery Toothbrush, Blue

SO worth the extra money! This $60 toothbrush has high-end Oscillation! I am of the belief that EVERY other parameters/characteristic of an electric toothbrush is completely meaningless. Our teeth can only get so clean, right? The marketing on these things (with angle of degree as if our wrists don’t flutter, and to-the-second brushing times as if exactly 120 seconds is perfect) is getting crazy.

Had no idea how worn out my old Oral B was until I got this new one. It is a buzz saw compared to the old. This one has a light that flashes when you bear down to hard which I also find helpful. No Bluetooth which I didn’t want and which kept the price down. Glad I got it😃

I purchased this as a replacement for an older Oral B and was surprised at the power of the motor. That plus the cross action head leave my mouth feeling quite clean.

This is my first electric toothbrush, and now I ask myself “What took ya so long?” I always put off buying one, but after reading some reviews decided to go with the Braun Oral B 1500. I’m 64 and this is a new toothbrushing experience for me. It just feels so good, and now, after using this one a few times, I no longer get any bleeding like I got with the manual brush. I can easily reach the teeth in back, and all gum surfaces, and I feel very clean after using. This is one of those things that you will ask how you went so long without on after you try it, just like the Braun electric shaver I just got for the first time too!!. If you are on the fence about going electric, DO IT! You wont regret it.

Better than Pro 1000, but on/off switch requires more work to operate. To turn off you must hold in the power button for 2 seconds. Also hard to press with finger, you must use your fingernail because the power button is sunken inward. At least it appears to be slightly more powerful than the 1000.

I’ve had Oral-B electric toothbrushes for years. I usually bought more expensive models, but I’ve learned that I never use the Bluetooth function or the apps. I also don’t care about seeing a smiley face after brushing. This is a fifth of the price of the most expensive model and I think it does everything just as well. The lithium ion model was worth the extra $20 over the least expensive one. This has a 2-minute timer that vibrates every 30 seconds. A great buy for sure!

I love the power of this toothbrush. I have gum disease so I need deep cleaning. It is a bit loud, but it doesn’t bother me.

I did a lot of searches of the different models, and the 1500 really is about all you need. It buzzes at 30seconds to let you know to move to the next quadrant and lights when pressing too hard. It has a gentle setting for when my teeth are sensitive. There’s no need for bluetooth on these things. My mouth feels really clean afterwards. There’s a lot of reviews about it being too loud, made me worry that I’d be sticking something as loud as a chainsaw into my mouth. Those are wrong. I don’t know what those people expected. You’re not going to be carrying on conversations while doing this, but was that a goal in the first place?

I’ve never had a toothbrush that feels like you’ve just left the dentist. I rate this above Sonicare. It spins which is how your teeth are supposed to be cleaned but it pulsates as well so you’re getting the best of both worlds. I was eyeing up another Sonicare when I listened to a YouTube review and I’m so grateful I tried this. Saved money and it works excellent!

The main reason why I got this version over the cheaper Smart 1000 version (which was recommended by The Wirecutter) is that it has a better battery. The brush can last through about two weeks worth of brushing on a single charge. One full charge takes about 12 hours. The cheaper 1000 model can last through about a week’s worth on a single charge, however it takes about 24-27 hours to reach that full charge. This model takes HALF that time and lasts twice as long. Small price to pay for much better performance. This model pulses every 30 seconds to remind you to switch to the next step of your brushing. It auto reduces its brushing speed if you press too hard against your teeth and/or against your gums. It has two other modes which are mostly useless unless you have REALLY sensitive gums and/or you want a “varied” brushing schedule. The replacement heads for these can be bought first and third party. Third party heads are way cheaper. All in all a good investment – not only will this make your toothbrushing easier, but it will also clean better than a manual toothbrush.
