Before the Bip U, I had the Samsung Gear S2, a cell enabled version. My fingers are a little too big to easily reply back to text messages on the S2 without trouble unless I used canned replies. I also never felt comfortable with the ability to take and receive calls with the watch a good idea since the conversation isn’t private. With that in mind, I find that the Bip U does the most important things well in a far less weighty design (1.1oz vs. 2.8oz) and does so in a much slimmer package that does not catch every shirt sleeve or coat sleeve that comes it’s way when compared to the Samsung Gear S2, and probably the S3 model too. The Bip U does heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, and shows messages well, all in a package that doesn’t need an excuse for a top-off charge like every time I take a shower. The Zepp app is easy enough to use to see your steps, heart rate, and sleep information at a glance. If all you are looking for is heart rate, sleep, and step tracking in a smartwatch that’s light and doesn’t get in the way, this is a good model with a decent battery life between charges.Pros1. Heart Rate Tracking2. Sleep Tracking3. Step tracking4. Lightweight5. Slim6. 1 week+ battery lifeCons:1. Not the e-ink display like the original Bip2. Can’t receive or make calls from the watch

I am very pleased with this watch. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a fitness tracker. This was one of the very few in this price range that did not seem to need a smartphone, which I don’t have. (My old fitness tracker was a Jawbone UP Move, which cost ~$10, and it worked OK even though server and app support was discontinued after the company was liquidated, until the app quit working.)I mainly wanted step-tracking and sleep-tracking. The manual that came with the watch is tiny, and the print tinier, but I got the watch set up and going without too much problem on just an iPad. I have tiny wrists, but the band fits well on the last hole, and the fastening seems very secure. The watch face spans my whole wrist, but I’d rather have that than text that’s too small to read.I don’t know about the accuracy of the step count, distance walked, or sleep analysis, because I don’t have any other source of information on those. But those numbers are useful for day-to-day comparisons and meeting goals. It turns out that I need these regular measurements to stay motivated. I have also figured out how to use the workout feature like a trip odometer, to count steps and measure distance for a specific walk. It notifies me with a gentle buzz when I reach goals.I have *not* figured out how to get it to measure sleep quality or stress. I can live without those, but I’d be interested in the measurements. There are a lot of other features on this watch that I’m not interested in using. At one point the watch apparently told my iPad to play a song (and to keep playing it), so I tried to make that impossible in the future. The time display on the watch is easy to read, so that now I don’t have to wear both a regular watch and a fitness band, as I did before. The battery life is good. I had had it set to monitor heart rate all the time, and that was using up the battery, so I changed it to monitor heart rate every 10 minutes and whenever activity is detected. I think the battery lasted about 20 days until I chose to charge it, when it got down to about 30%.I am quite happy with this watch, and I’m also happy that I didn’t spend at least twice as much to get a Fitbit, which I’m sure I wouldn’t have enjoyed twice as much.

I was coming from a Garmin Vivoactive, and loved it. But it was getting old, the battery wasn’t lasting as long, and was overall just a bit clunky. So I tried another cheap brand and it just didn’t have the notifications I needed on my watch. I know that’s nitpicky, but it was a big problem for me. So I started looking around again and got notified about a deal on this watch, and I couldn’t be happier! All my notifications are able to come through, it’s got an easy to use app, and it feels great. It even lets me get more customized watchfaces which is a big plus. LOVE THIS WATCH!

This is a great smart watch on a budget. The OLED display is very crisp and clear and readable under most light conditions. I have worn the original Bip watch for a few years and I really like this upgrade to the Bip line. This model is almost a quantum leap in capabilities for almost the same cost. I really like that it is easier to visualize the historical data on board the watch without needing to download to an external app. I purchased this and my previous Bip watch for my own use. I have not had the opportunity to test the limit how how water resistant the watch is, but it is fine for casual wear without worry. There are quite a few downloadable watch faces from which to choose.I set my watch for continuous heart rate monitoring which does cut down on the run time, but I still get four or five days on a charge if I need. The O2 monitoring is only activated manually; there is not an option for automatic periodic measurements, the other measurements can be set for automatic. The accompanying Zepp app replaces the older Amazfit app, is better organized and supports more Amazfit watch models than the old app. Zepp is still what I would consider a work in progress, but it is fairly good at what it does. If you’re a hard core fitness junkie, some other smart watch brands probably do better at visualizing your data. I pretty much want to make sure I am keeping my activity level at what I want, so I am satisfied with Zepp. I like the composite “physical activity index” or PAI score generated by the watch as a quick check that I’m staying active enough throughout the day to presumably keep my cardiac health where it should be.

It’s important to understand what you’re getting when you buy this watch. If you’re expecting an Apple Watch/Samsung/Wear OS experience, where the watch is a seamless extention of your phone, and you plan to text, take phone calls, and clear phone notifications all from your watch… you’ll be disappointed.A more fair comparison would be something like the Fitbit Versa, which is less full-fledged smartwatch and more fitness tracker in the form factor of a smartwatch, with some smartwatch functionality, such as showing notifications, playing/pausing music, etc. The difference is the Versa costs almost as much as those full-fledged smartwatches, while this costs 1/5th the price of Apple’s “budget” Apple Watch SE.If you go in with proper expectations, this watch will definitely surprise you. For barely more than budget fitness trackers like the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 (around $30 right now), you’re getting a much larger screen, without compromising on fitness tracking features like heart rate monitoring and step tracking.Speaking of fitness tracking, I am by no means a gym rat, but I found the data to be accurate as far as I could tell. It was pretty much in line with what my wife’s Apple Watch reported. The Zepp app that displays your fitness data and let’s you adjust the watch’s settings is… fine. It’s nothing special, but it works well enough. If you don’t like it, you can sync your fitness data with Strava or Google Fit, as I chose to do.For $60 (or $50 on sale), you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more complete fitness tracker and you definitely won’t find a better smartwatch (there are plenty on Amazon that look good on paper, but most everything else in this price range is utter garbage irl.)It is worth noting that if you care about having built-in GPS (as opposed to relying on your phone’s GPS), the Bip U Pro is $10 more and has that feature (the regular Bip U does not). The Pro also has Alexa built-in for voice commands. They are otherwise the same watch. The one complaint I have is lift to wake is a little slow to respond at times. Because of this, I have decided to return the Bip U and go with the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini instead (which is normally $100, but is on sale for $85 on Amazon right now.)In addition to built-in GPS and Alexa like the Bip U Pro, the GTS 2 Mini adds a larger and brighter (in roughly the same size body as the Bip U) always-on AMOLED display. The always-on display makes lift to wake a non-issue.If you can afford the slightly higher price point of the GTS 2 Mini, I would say the larger always-on display is worth it. But if $85 is a little steep for you, I would not let the occasionally slow lift to wake stop you from buying the Bip U. It’s still an amazing value at $50.

I could say a lot of things about this watch but it covered the main things I needed.* Something to tell me to get off my ass every now and then* Something to track my steps and sleep* Something to sync to my notificationsPROS:* Battery life isn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. It really depends on how many features you have turned off/on* Clear screen and no real bugs to speak of that I’ve noticed* Pomodoro tracker is a nice touch to have* The blood oxygen sensor actually is really accurate if you flip the watch around and measure on your inner wrist. Compared it to a dedicated unit and it was the same reading.CONS:* I sometimes wonder if the heart rate sensor reads a bit fast.* Syncing notifications were too much trouble to be honest. I had to download the Alert bridge app and not use the Zepp app for notifications.* There’s some neat watch faces but nothing fully customizable. I get why people haven’t hacked this one yet bc the standard options DO offer options. But it will be cool to further customize within the Zepp app.* The “stress” feature is a little gimmicky as I think it just reads based off your movement.

I have not worn a watch in almost 20 years, relying on my phone for everything. I did not want all the features of a watch fully connected to my phone with all the bells and whistles (and less battery life), so I thought I would get this thing and see how it worked. My primary use is heart rate and sleep feedback.FIRST IMPRESSIONS:1) The packaging was impressive. I was surprised at the quality of the box it came in….felt really solid and protected the contents. Very well packaged.2) The watch feels amazing. Not having worn a watch in a very long time…this thing is super comfortable, very light and has tons of features.3) With a short run and work out, wearing it while I sleep (had no problems sleeping with it), and monitoring it during my first day….love it. Lots of data. I also compared the sleep data to an app I use on my phone. The results were very close, but I feel like having the watch on me will give me better data.4) A short test of the pedometer with 100 steps shows it was exactly on. Not even 1 count off. Better than some older pedometers I have tried.5) The APP is packed full of features, even updated the firmware as soon as it connected. Super nice.6) Battery life…battery life…battery life. This watch does not have GPS, but I was more concerned about getting a good battery life out of this.7) The always on display is not super bright, but is clear enough to read without turning on the display…even the very small text, though some people may have problems with the small text. You do have LOTS and LOTS of options to change the display , so no problem finding one that has what you want on it with very large text. Pretty amazing display I must say.8) I’m actually using the watch as a watch much more than I expected. Back to having a watch means I don’t need to get my phone out everytime I want to know what time it is….actually kinda cool.9) It even has weather details for my location. WOW, that is really cool.CONS:1) First impression of the user manual, not much to it. It seems to be made for you to download the app and start playing with it to get used to all the functions. If you like playing with electronic toys, then this is great. If you want to know exactly where all the menu items are before you start doing things, not good for you. Takes a bit of time to get to know where everything is, how the app works , etc.2) Does not have all the features of some upgraded watches…but (as mentioned above), that’s what gives it a great battery life.In Short, if you want more features or phone connectivity, this is not the watch for you. If you just want what is advertised for this watch….it really delivers with lots of options. This product was obviously well thought out, well designed…for everything from the packaging, to the watch, the app and the options on the watch.Update: After almost 5 days of usage, I find that in order to get really good battery life I had to reduce my heart rate sensor to once ever 30 minutes (in app) . Even at once every 10 minutes I was losing significant battery life (with most other features besides sleep monitoring turned off). The good thing , is that if you set it detect excercise (in app), it DOES increase monitoring level when doing a sports activity (if you set watch to log excercise either with long press button short cut, or select an excercise on the watch). Already looking at upgrading for more features, but will wait as long as I can before spending more $$.

Pleasantly surprised with this little watch. I bought a FitBit to replace my old TomTom band and returned it after finding the features not really matching with the cost. Tried a couple off-brand and lesser-known brands, but found myself returning to my outdated and unsupported TomTom. Bought the Bip U telling myself it was my last attempt and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It has all of the features I want including text/notification/call alerts, tracks a HUGE amount of workouts, and the sleep tracking is surprisingly detailed. Compared to my boyfriend’s Garmin smartwatch, the Bip U does *almost* everything his does for a fraction of the cost. The setup was a little difficult when it came to notifications, but once that was taken care of I’ve had zero problems with this watch since purchase. It also sits comfortably on my dainty, childrens-sized wrist. Highly recommend trying the Bip U for anyone that’s been disappointed with other smart watch purchases.

Bought on April 2021 and worn for almost a month. Don’t regret this purchase one bit and plan to use this for several years. There are still many things about it I have yet to discover. My goal was to have a step counter, heart rate monitor and track my exercise with other features like wake up alarm and phone alerts. This watch can do much more than I thought I needed. I considered getting an Apple Watch but the price deterred me.It’s a solid 4.5/5 stars (but I rounded up) honestly I don’t think I could ever find anything this reputable and dependable for this price. It’s high functioning, well designed, and solidly made.Pros: comfortable band, hasnt scratched when I’ve clunked it into things, heart rate is accurate, steps and exercise accurate, weather/temperature display, oxygen saturation, can customize a lot like watch face, alarms, exercise goals, reminders to stand and get email or phone call alerts from phone Bluetooth.Cons: vibrates only no sound, can’t send messages only can read, battery life is around 3 full days for me, not submersible waterproof (you can wash your hands), and not wireless charger compatible.I feel that if you want most of the capabilities and look of an Apple Watch that is a fraction of the price then this is a very great find. I’ve tried to convince my friends and family to get one because I like it that much.I always keep the box for 2 weeks incase I want to return it. Well I was about to throw out the box because it’s a keeper and i stumbled upon a $15 Amazon gift card promotion tucked into the box for sharing my experience. I probably wouldn’t have shared my experience but I’m not biased by the gift card and I genuinely am very pleased to have such a great watch that’s definitely worth every penny!

I wanted a watch that would also track my sleep. But primarily I missed having a watch that I could glance at throughout the day and see the time, date and weather. Since this screen is always on. I can glance at my wrist and see the time anytime. Always on is simply amazing. It’s so great to see in the sun or bright light, but I’ve found that even dim lights at night are good enough to see it by. I can always push its one button to get back light if I’m in complete darkness. I even turned off wrist sense, so it no longer tries to turn on back light when it thinks I’m trying to look at my watch (since I can already read it before the back light turns on). After first charge, with wrist sense turned off, I’m 9 days into the batter and averaging about 1.5% per day. I also have heart monitoring completely off. I haven’t tested custom watch faces, heart monitoring or much else yet.It does work great for letting me know when someone is calling me (which is great because I love having my phone on silent), and it shows me my messages (in texts, whatsapp and Signal, the 3 apps I enabled for use). I like that I can select any app on my phone to receive notifications from.Sleep tracking has been really accurate so far, I can really feel the difference in my sleep and having it show me so many data points is helpful for me to adjust my sleep pattern in ways that are most beneficial.I wish I could have it track naps as well. It’s light weight and has a 20mm band size so I can purchase any 20mm watch band and it works. I bought a $9 pink metal band that is super comfortable and more elegant in my opinion than the “sporty” silicone band it comes with. That picture is without the back light on. So far I’m really pleased, and for the price and the excellent battery life and always on screen, this is the best smart watch that I’m aware of for me.Great watch, and I can easily highly recommend it.
