I Just got the laptop a few days ago, and I already really like it. I really like the fingerprint sensor and I like how fast and responsive it is. I am using it for college and it is going to be perfect. I have already recommended this laptop to my friends.

Note: Minor review edits after ~2 months w/ laptopThis is a very powerful laptop that doesn’t have the drawbacks of many gaming laptops. It looks normal, has a charging brick of 90W which is actually portable, and is nice and lightweight. Main distinguishing factors are: – really nice display (100% srgb 1080p 60hz max 300 nits w/ good brightness scaling) – good build quality overall, with the lid being a tiny bit wobbly – the top-notch performance for an 14″ ultra-thin (see details below if interested) – really small size – thermals are decent, especially for what it is, though fan gets very loud under heavy loadsThe screen and keyboard are both pretty nice (keyboard backlight is a nice plus) and webcam is fine (720p). Port selection includes 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB C, 1 HDMI, Combined Audio, and a Kensington Lock. It’s a bit annoying that there’s no ethernet or SD card reader; however, the I got a tp-link ethernet + usb hub for ~$30 and it’s pretty easy to carry around. The speakers are on the bottom and sound kinda meh (they get the job done). I get 5-7 hours of battery life under most use cases, which is pretty good for a laptop this powerful and small. If you play graphically or computationally intensive games, expect lower. While the fan can get really loud, it generally runs quiet unless under stress. The performance is amazing; the Ryzen 7 5800u is one of the (if not the) most powerful CPUs for ultra-portables, and will make a big difference for video/photo-editing especially. The 3050ti allows this to play most modern games at decent framerates. Keep in mind that anything higher than 60 is overkill unless you’re using an external monitor, so this should be fine for any non-AAA games and even some AAA games at high settings. But, don’t expect ray tracing or any other super taxing stuff to run well. Another note is that you’ll only be getting 60-70% of the GPU performance you’d get in a gaming laptop equivalent because of the size. Lastly, if you are so inclined, there is a 2nd M.2 ssd slot inside for future upgrading, and the 1st one is also user accessible. Make sure you have torx bits if you want to open it up. Overall, this machine gets a 4.5/5 (rounded up to 5) from me. Below are more details for performance nerds/diy people:The Wifi card is a Wifi 6 2×2 by Mediatek. Intel is technically better, but honestly it runs fine. The CPU has a listed wattage of 15W, but boosts as high as 40W while plugged in, sits between 85-95C under heavy, fully threaded loads, and stays clocked between 3.7 and 4.4GHz on all 8 cores. The GPU stays nice and cool under stress at around 65C, and runs up to 35-40W. For reference, the NVIDIA 3050ti at that wattage runs 15-20% worse than my desktop NVIDIA 1650 super at 100W. I haven’t tried to max out the CPU and GPU at the same time for a long time, but expect the performance to be a little worse in any games that utilize both parts heavily. The integrated graphics handle the OS and the majority of less GPU-intensive tasks, which saves power and maximizes graphics performance (I feel like this should be a given, but it isn’t).

the laptop feels solid, it’s thin & light + so powerful, it has great CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads + decent GPU 3050 ti . it means that i can edit my 4k videos with no problem. the keyboard is good, the screen is not glossy which is nice, sound quality is average. overall I’m very happy with this laptop.

This laptop has worked great for me for school work. I have run into no problems or bottlenecks even when I try and do some gaming on it. Overall I would recommend this to anyone that wants a great quality thin and light that has some serious horsepower under the hood for all of your gaming or creation needs.

With it being a laptop having a NVIDIA processor for graphics and built in graphics to the ryzen processor, the laptop tends to always put your settings on the lowest setting possible. Play with graphics in the settings and realize this isn’t completely for heavy gaming use. I use it a ton for blender and adobe apps, as well as playing r6 with ray-tracing at 150fps and apex at 120. the keyboard gets hot under heavy usage but its not awful. I do recommend this laptop, its an awesome sleeper and great for everyday use, just keep the charger close lol.

My only complaints are the lack of an SD card slot, and non upgradable ram. Build quality is a lot better than others are making it out to be. Speakers are OK, a little bit on the quiet side but still usable. Battery life is awesome, averaging 8-9 hours of light to moderate use. Get this if you want something independent from a wall outlet but still very capable. Sure, there are more powerful laptops out there for the price at the sacrifice of weight and battery life. Then again, this is an Ultrabook, not a gaming laptop.

I had gotten this laptop for college and a bit of side gaming. It works like a charm! I knew the specs were pretty good and I didn’t really expect it to be this good. Overall good laptop

With the zen 3 architecture from Ryzen and the DLSS capabilities from the rtx 30 series, this laptop is a great machine for both productivity and medium-light gaming. The LPDDR4X 16 gbs of ram and the NVMe SSD makes for an amazingly snappy experience on everyday. The gtx 3050 Ti with the dlss capabilities make gaming amazing. On warzone, I was getting a solid 70ish frames on medium settings. The laptop is light as expected, and the laptop runs cool! After about an hour of warzone, it was just barely warm to the touch. However, the “gold” color on the lid is very faint. As you can see in the picture, it is almost the same color as the silver body. Also, the package of the charger is not my favorite. I’m very particular about my electronics, and seeing how tightly and sharply the wires are kinked did not sit well for me. I know it decreases volume, but I would have loved if it were packed in more forgiving loops.Additionally, the USB-A port on the right hand side of the chassis is extremely tight. I’m not sure if the inner lining is slightly bent, but it takes an abnormal amount of force to eject devices from that port. This isn’t too big of a deal since I use this port for my wireless mouse dongle, but it may bother some if it is consistent across all units.Other than the three slight cons, everything about the laptop is great.

Overall, it has good performance and a good battery life. I am happy with the screen. The only drawback I can think of is that the fans can be occasionally noisy but I think the pros (price/performance) outweigh a little bit of noise. It does everything that I need it to and the keyboard/trackpad are pretty good.

This laptop is fast, lightweight, and has great battery life. The only problem was that the charger components did not fit together. However, acer can replace it. Overall a great purchase.
