Updated review:Ok, I was a little harsh originally, but I feel rightly so; that was irritating. After that though, the laptop booted fine. I re-installed windows (just because I always do that on new laptops) and all the clevo drivers installed fine.I’m also dual-booting Xubuntu 20.04 and everything works with the nvidia-460 drivers (careful with newer than 460, they gave me a completely black, unpowered display). All the ports work, and the backlit keys work in linux with some grub acpi additions (of course they work perfectly in windows out of the box, after installing the drivers).Other than standard linux quirks, everything seems to work perfectly. They shipped the device with thermal paste, and I don’t know if it’s better than what’s there (am I meant to upgrade with it? Is it for later when the original paste dries up?)Upgraded from 1 star to 3 for now, and leaving it there for a few weeks to make sure nothing goes wrong. Also; I was ready to pay $5700 (before tax) elsewhere for this, so this is a pretty amazing price.Original title: BewareOriginal review: Out of the box, it failed on the first boot. Entered the BIOS, selected the recovery partition, that boot blue screen’d too.In decades to buying new laptops, I’ve never seen this before. QC apparently isn’t important here. I am genuinely concerned about what else might have issues. Also, the BIOS has a logo for a completely different seller. Not sure if they installed an incompatible BIOS, or flat resold it.
