10 reviews for PowerA MOGA XP5-X Plus Bluetooth Controller for Mobile And Cloud Gaming On Android And PC, Gamepad, Phone Clip, Gaming Controller

This controller pairs great with my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Decided to purchase the MogaX controller for use with the new streaming XBox platform that was recommended for my phone. So far very satisfied with it. Connects seamlessly, long battery life and easy to use. Overall very impressed and happy.

This is my new favorite controller. TL;DR if you’re looking for the best all-around controller that you can comfortably use on Android/Windows/Linux, this is the one.I do a lot of gaming on Windows, Android, and PC and this works very well for all of those use cases.First – the controller has a massive battery. I understand that this is intended to be used as a battery bank as well, but it has the benefit of just never dying. After the initial charge, I’ve used it for several weeks for several hours a day. How much battery do I have left? 70%. 3000 mAh in a controller. Three times the amount of a DS4 without the pesky LED.The analog sticks are great. The grips on the sticks grip your fingers really well, and they feel very similar to the original Xbox One controller. They are very precise, I played through Outer Worlds with no issue on the sticks. The face buttons are fine, as expected. The shoulder buttons are a but mushier than the original xbox controller – feel kind of like those membrane “mechanical” keyboards. I really like them, my roommates do not. I did find myself accidentally pressing the triggers at times, but I think that’s more because I am used to a DS4 controller. The d-pad is incredible. I wouldn’t use it for fighting games, but for absolutely everything else it’s very good. Better than the xbox one, better than the DS4, better than the switch pro – just a really nice feeling d-pad. It passes my emulation and dead cells tests with flying colors.Clicking the analog sticks in is extremely tacticle and kind of loud. I’m not a *huge* fan of that but those that I give the controller love it- but it doesn’t matter because:The buttons on the back are super useful, and remapping them is very quick. I hate it when games use stick click in for sprint, but it doesn’t matter because I can just remap the stick click in to a back button. You can remap them to any of the other controller buttons on the fly. Want to use a face button with both hands on the analog sticks still? Go for it. Hate moving your hands off the triggers? Yeah sure, remap them to bumpers. I’ve had no accidental presses of them and pressing the back buttons are extremely satisfying. Before we get into platform specifics, let’s talk about the clip. This is the best phone clip. It articulates with multiple joints, so you can get the weight distribution just right. I thought I wanted a switch-style telescopic kind of layout for my phone, now I don’t care. You can put the phone in front of the controller if you want to get it closer to your face, you can float it above at any angle. It’s just an amazing clip. The cutouts for your volume rocker or whatever other button is just icing on the cake. Playing in wired mode is great. I haven’t used the battery bank feature yet, but I’m sure it works fine. This controller also shuts off automatically pretty fast but is super quick to pair, making battery last super long. You can also just flip it into wired mode to shut it down if you were using it wirelessly, which is awesome.Let’s talk about platforms:Android is just plug and play in both bluetooth and not. Pairing is very simplistic and doesn’t involve you holding down any painful buttons for a long time. I switch from android back to my computer a lot and the simpler pairing than any first party controller is much appreciated. As stated earlier, the clip is incredible. I have the Razer Kishi as well, and I like this controller and clip combo more than the Kishi.PC is a bit of a mixed back, but not if you know what you’re doing. If you only play on steam, then just enable generic controller support and steam picks this up just fine. Note that you can’t remap the back buttons to keyboard keys, but that’s not a big deal for me personally. This controller on Windows is a DINPUT controller, meaning a lot of non-steam games won’t pick it up innately- namely gamepass games rarely pick this up. There’s a program that you can use called “Xoutput” that allows you to remap the dinput controller inputs to xinput instead, hence being able to use it with most games. I’ve had zero problems with this method. Playing with the controller in wired mode (with it’s included generously long cable) also just puts the controller in xinput mode, so if you’re only planning on playing it on Windows in wired mode, you shouldn’t need to use the program. If you’re only planning on using this with steam games, you won’t do anything either. The only issue I’ve encountered on Windows is that after rebooting I have to repair the controller. Not a huge deal since pairing this controller is easier than any other pairing I’ve been through with controllers, and I do it all the time to switch back and forth from android anyway.Linux picks up the controller just fine with no issues. Back buttons work, etc.I’ve been super happy with this purchase and have used the controller everywhere since buying it. I haven’t used any of my other controllers even in games where it would make sense because this is just too convienent.

Perfect wireless controller for xbox, etc. Killer feature is it has a 3000 mAh battery, so it either has insanely long battery life, or can be used as a powerbank to charge USB devices. Good complement of cables and adapters so it will connect to USB-A, Micro-USB, and USB-C. Wired and wireless control. Finally, the double-jointed cradle to hold a phone makes it easy to get perfect balance for phone gaming. This thing rocks.

  4. Billy

Worked right out of the box. It feels perfect. The clip really holds my phone in place tightly. Ridges in the clip allow clearance for power and volume buttons, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally locking your phone while you’re playing. It’s a bit lighter than a normal Xbox controller, and your phone will definitely make it noticeably top heavy. Great for emulators on your phone. Myboy, My Oldboy, and John NESS are for GBA, GBC, and NES/SNES respectively. I highly recommend each. There are free versions with ads and limited features, and the complete versions are $4 – $7 each on the Google Play Store.

I almost did NOT order this because of some of the reviews. Never again. This controller to me surpasses the X-Box One controller. It does not by any means feel cheap and fits my hand way better than the XBO. It comes with all the connections you will ever need, and also has a power bank included in the controller to charge your phone. Also has blue tooth, which works flawlessly. Works perfectly on PC. Even works great with my Raspberry Pi with Retro Pie and Recalbox. It is almost half the price and has many more features than the XBO controller. If you’re on the fence because of the negative reviews, don’t be. Order it and you won’t be sorry!

Great item to bring console-like activity on a mobile device (or PC). It’s great that it can charge your device while playing; however, it cannot charge itself while playing and charging your device (big stretch but still a win). Bluetooth works flawlessly and have not experienced any lagging. Certainly worth it. Would be perfect if it could pair with xbox console.

Wow. Nice nice, nOice! Lol so far so good. I was looking for a game controller for my android(Samsung galaxy j3 achieve) to play Classic GTA games on mobile. And this controller is doing the job. It looks and feels like a xbox 360 controller.Buttons are pretty durable and solid so far. Surprised this product only had 4 stars, but probably because people didn’t research if they’re phone is compatible with this controller.Oh, pairing it with bluetooth took a while for me but maybe that’s just me. Very solid product.

This controller was recommended by Samsung for my Samsung S7 tablet. Solid construction, smooth feel, accurate sticks and buttons, and the battery life is awesome. No issues whatsoever. Works with android games right out of the box. I’m particularly pleased that it interfaces well with emulators such as ScummVM and Uae4arm so I can play my classic DOS and Amiga games. Doesn’t come with a case, but this one on Amazon fits perfectly.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V2D6B41/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_4Wi9Fb9PSYAVM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Very pleased with this purchase.

I ordered this instead of an xbox one or Playstation 4 Controller Because 1st of all the price was a lot better. I was impressed when I got it my only problem is that some games don’t support 3rd party controllers and some games won’t support controllers at all so if you get this you have to look and to the panda game pad app If you want to play it on some games. Other than that I really love the functionability of the controller. It’s clearly made for a handheld device because it has a Built-in battery that allows you to charge your phone off of it while you use it it does drain the battery life faster for the controller but it is a neat feature Along with the two advance gaming buttons that are easy to set up.

I bought this controller specifically for my Samsung Tab S7 5G to play Fortnite mobile. This controller does everything it’s supposed to. Extremely easy setup and pairing with my tablet. Wired mode is cool when using the phone clip, which I’ve tested out on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. ALL buttons worked perfectly with Fortnite. Programing the back buttons was a breeze. I own the Xbox One controller and this one is more lightweight. I like it better because it doesn’t hurt my inner palms like the heavier XB1 controller does. I added my Kontrol Freeks and precision rings and fit perfectly just as it does for XB1. Though the XB1 controller is awesome I bought the Moga for the back buttons and for Fortnite mobile compatibility. So I’ve made the switch over. Very happy!!
