Upgraded features put this model leagues ahead of the Z83-4 that I had previously. I have always been a proponent of mini pcs and other micro sized hardware that are able to accomplish the same task as their full sized counterparts. Given that statement, there aren’t many mini pcs that have the power and capability to stack up to the full sized hardware at all. Fortunately, this device starts to hit the mark with break even performance and capability, making me a very happy customer. This Minix device has 4gb of ram that is soldered to the motherboard, unfortunately making it near impossible to upgrade the ram to anything more. That being said, the 4gb of included ram is more than enough for the average user to be able to use this device for its intended purpose. Don’t expect to encode videos in Photoshop or play graphics intensive games, but for normal everyday tasks like web surfing and document processing, it zooms through it’s tasks and has yet to freeze up on me.Fortunately, I am completely satisfied with this little device, mainly because of the option to be able to add an m.2 sata ssd internally. I luckily already had a 256gb m.2 ssd laying around that I immediately put to work in this machine. I simply cloned the internal 64gb emmc flash storage to the new m.2 ssd, and I then had an even snappier machine with plenty of storage. In my opinion, this was where the other previous Minix devices had fallen short. They started with 32gb which wasn’t even enough to properly run Windows, then thankfully started offering 64gb which was plenty for running the OS. But apart from running basic programs and nothing more, you couldn’t even save a full DVD movie worth of data on the remaining space. This devices ability to add the m.2 ssd fixes all of the previous shortcoming and makes for a great little device.I could go on about the other feature and specs and blah blah blah, but honestly those things you can research yourself and find out about. The main hardware feature that I wanted to talk about was the ability to add your own hard drive to this machine, and I did that in the previous paragraph.I conclusion, I would tell you that your money will not go to waste on this device or any of the new Minix line of devices that allow for user customization and configuration. I am completely happy with my product and I’m sure I’ll use it until I buy another new Minix model to replace it.

Very nice system. I’ve had it for about three weeks now, and it handles what I am asking it to do.I will be using these computers to run in my conference rooms, and as public/shared computers used in our showrooms and sales centers.Physically it is good looking, they did away with the external wifi antenna so it is much more sleek. Fanless, so it is quite.I like the direction that Minix is taking with this new line. They are starting to put in larger eMMC memory (64GB up from 32GB) and increased RAM (4GB up from 2GB). The RAM is not upgradable. If this is important then look for its big brother the J50C-4.It is super easy to upgrade the drive size using a SATA M.2 SSD. This machine does not support NVME SSD. They put a quick access door on the bottom of the device to put in the SSD.I decided to turn off the included eMMC 64gb and reinstall windows and the drivers onto the SSD. This was super easy. I just went to the forum, and they had a link to the most current image and instructions on how to put the image on a USB drive.

A great successor to the NEO Z83-4 Pro, of which I have many in remote locations. A very noticeable upgrade in CPU speed, which is especially nice. Physically, it might be slightly larger than the Z83, but still very compact, comes with a DIN mount, and is still a fan-less design. This model includes an M.2 slot for an NGFF SSD, which is great to future-proof these against the ever-increasing space requirements for Windows 10. It has been reported that the disappearing micro-SD issue that plagued the Z83s has been resolved in the G41V.

Fantastic mini PC. Easy setup, great design and built with quality. This is the 3rd MINIX I’ve owned and they’ve all been great and lasted. Customer service is also exceptional. This particular model performs great. It arrives setup with Windows 10 and ready to go. Setup took just a few minutes and was easy. I’d definitely recommend this product.

I don’t normally write reviews but I have been enjoying my MiniX NEO G41V-4 for more than a month now, mostly I use it for streaming videos on to my TV. Right out of the box it started up and has worked flawlessly. It responds very well in Windows 10 and I highly recommend this unit. I also appreciate the small size of the unit. Good things can come in small packages!I have also used the NEO W2 remote control unit with the MiniX. The buttons on both sides of the remote are illuminated which is the best feature because I can find them while streaming to pause or even to type something using the back side of the remote. The arrow and select button are very central and the gyro mouse functionality is extremely easy to use and works just as advertised.

Been relying on Minix Technology Limited’ mini PC products as my Kodi box of choice for years, so I was excited to see they released this new, improved Fan-less Mini PC in 2019.First of all it feels very well constructed. Has a cool modern looking case that will add pop to any entertainment setup. The WiFi card used is antennaless. There are no bright flashing lights emitting from this unit to make your room look like an airport landing strip. They even provided the high speed HDMI cable and the needed equipment to mount the box on your TV or wall bracket. With the 64GB of internal SSD storage had no problems updating to the latest build of Windows 10 Pro.Amazing how fast, and stable the connection to my FiOS router is. No disconnects at all!First thing I did was install Kodi v18.4 and the official Netflix and Amazon VOD add-ons. The HD movies played without any studdering or buffering issues. Enable Dolby pass thru on Kodi to enjoy the spaciousness of 5.1 and 7.1 surround on my home theater system. Not a gamer, so couldn’t say how the box handles games. I’m sure since it handle the HD video content offered by Netflix and Amazon with no issues it will handle any game too.I did have some 4K x265 HEVC Encoded / H.265 video content saved on an external HD that I through at this baby. Again, the MINIX NEO G41V-4 Mini PC handled it with no problems at all.*Fast*Modern Look*Reliable*Well MadeLinked my Office365 account during initial setup. Microsoft Word, Excell, and Power Point behaved perfectly like on my high-end $699 HP laptop.Very impressed. With the processing power, RAM and internal SSD storage this baby possesses I’m guaranteed to get many years of use from this box.Nice job Minix. Keep up the great work!

Minix has hit it out of the park with this one. I own a previous model, but the onboard storage of 32 GB was not enough for Windows. This one has the updated processor, plus 64 GB of eMMC storage. There are tons of reviews and benchmark tests around the internet for this device, but I am writing this review based on real-world use.The device is super light and very small. It so far hasn’t gotten too hot, and seems to work like a charm. I purchased this one mainly since it has no moving parts (no mechanical hard drive and no fans) so that it can be an always-on PC. This thing is perfect for HTPC’s, or an inexpensive PC for someone who doesn’t do much but browse the internet, email and play some basic games.I personally use it for a second PC to my main, and I also use it to run my IP cameras and software while I’m not home, which it does with ease. As far as the eMMC storage, it’s faster than mechanical drives, but only slightly slower than an SSD (which there is a slot for on the bottom). Currently it’s plenty fast enough for real-world usage, and I actually don’t feel the need at this time to use an SSD instead of the eMMC onboard storage.I will, however, be inserting an SSD at some point in the future to dual-boot Linux and Windows. But until then, like others have said, it does everything I’ve thrown at it with ease. And believe it or not, this thing is faster than my similar box that has an i3 Intel CPU and a 2.5″ SSD drive. But the fan on that is insanely loud. That’s why I wanted a fanless computer that can be always-on.If you’re looking for something quiet, always-on (like an HTPC) and is plenty fast, don’t hesitate the try this thing out. You won’t be disappointed!

As a previous owner of a Windows 10 MINIX machine I can say they’ve come a long way. I’ve always loved the MINIX form factor – small rectangular shape, noiseless, black box that worked well as a desktop unit for my son (Windows 10). However previous units were hampered by lack of expansion. The new MINIX NEO G41V-4 is really a revolution over previous editions. The current model is a 64 bit, Win 10 Pro with 4GB on board but expandable thanks to a nifty new slot on the bottom for adding up to 1TB. Really a smart move! They also added three display outputs so you can add up two three displays to the unit. The hardware now supports 4K video – so netflix or using as a media center is certainly an option. Video is smooth and without hiccups. You’re not likely going to play GTA or other graphics card intensive games on this – but that’s not the purpose – this PC now replaces my primary desktop unit for work, video and music. Things like editing music or video are great on this device. Highly recommend grabbing one because you’re not likely to find anything out there at this price point that sport so many features. Things I didn’t speak to but are part of the package are (USB 3.0 ports, Digital Audio out, HDMI and Display port and Windows PRO)

I have had this Minix Neo G41 V-4 in operation for about 10 days now and I can find nothing negative to say about the unit. I have it set up as a Media Center PC running Kodi. It has run everything I have thrown at it without a stumble. Media playback on 4K UHD, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Media Streaming, light compiling, Web Surfing, eBooks, ………. Up to medium duty tasks have been flawlessly processed. Really an exceptional unit overall that does what it is designed for.And the Minix company is more than honorable. I had previously purchased a Neo Z83-4 and enjoyed it until Windows changed and made the updates too large for the max allowable storage size to use the free Windows 10. Minix provided a downloadable workaround which did not work for me. They then preloaded a machine and sent it to me from Hong Kong. I did not think companies like Minix were doing business any more.Bottom line, both the G41 V-4 and the Minix Company appear to be doing what few are able to do any more, they provide what they say they will and support their product.

I was looking for an inexpensive mini pc for entertainment (to connect with my 3 projectors (aligned)). This does it. Now for the price this does not come with an i9, so accommodation need to be made. Eg, there is a need to avoid things that tie up your PC, like Google Chrome, and the high end security software. I am only using this to watch movies, browsing only on known websites, etc., so this is plenty fast, and the included Microsoft security software is just fine. You want to remove unused or unneeded Apps, because they interject themselves a little too often. Also, I use streaming apps when available, and Edge for website streaming services. So this is quick and wonderful. With that in mind, this works with my blu-ray, additional memory, did I mention premium streaming sites at the highest resolution, etc. I hook this up to my sound system with bluetooth and, amazingly, there is no audio lag. I use a bluetooth keyboard as well. There was hesitation, thinking it might be too slow considering the cpu without pcie m.2 but the sata is fast enough for the usage. The only hiccups are when my internet provider has a gaf. The PC has not failed. However, I bought this in October.Could not be happier.
