This is a very nice mic, and I am very pleased with both the build and sound quality. It was truly “plug and play”, and was up and running in a matter of seconds. I then ran some tests by calling myself in Google Voice to test the sound quality, and am very pleased with the results. The sound is full and rich, and the mic is very sensitive, allowing me to stand several feet away, and it picked me up perfectly. I primarily use the mic for conference calls in Microsoft Teams, and it works perfectly, allowing me to use my speakers instead of having to wear headphones all day.I bought the version with the volume control on the base, but the reality is that I leave it all the way up all the time, so you may want to save a buck and get the one without the control knob. Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever.

I ordered this microphone to replace a cheap one because I kept getting complaints about my audio quality with it when making phone calls from my computer. This microphone is day and night different from the old one. On the very first call I made with it, the first thing the other person said was how great the microphone sounded.I used SoundForge to record myself speaking into it and agree. It has a nice, bright sound that is clear as a bell. I usually position the mic directly in front of my monitors, angled toward me so that I address the mic on its end from a distance of ~24 inches and even people in moving cars can hear me very clearly. I experimented with the mic at various distances, down to ~4-6 inches, and, as expected for a polar mic, it got a little louder and the sound filled in noticeably, particularly in the mid-lower range. But, even though I could notice it clearly in my recording, listeners at the other end of the phone call said they barely noticed a difference.I would not recommend this mic for serious audio recordings; but, as a general purpose desktop mic, it’s very good and an excellent value for its cost.

The microphone on my new Lenovo laptop wasn’t cutting it for working at home, I’m on calls all day long but people said I sounded far away and breaking up, so I decided to look for a standalone mike. Wow! I should have done this a long time ago. This thing is GREAT – it was truly plug and play with my Windows 10 laptop and the sound of my voice on a Teams or Zoom call is clear as a bell now. The mute button is convenient and basically, this just works. In a time when you NEED to work remote and look and sound professional, but can’t find a webcam and mike setup for love or money anymore, this is a bargain. I can deal with my laptop’s less than stellar webcam quality as long as my sound is good, and now it is. Perfect!

May 2020 – I’ve tried several microphones for PC conference calls, expensive and inexpensive, before stumbling upon these mics on Amazon. You have two basic options… 1) Cardoid pattern (e.g, directional), and 2) Omni-directional. I have several PCs that needed mics so I ordered one of each (both with volume controls ( I discovered the volume control is really not necessary IMHO). Both were simple plug-n-play into my Windows 10 PCs. Just be sure you use the appropriate PC or app controls to select the new mic for your setup. The sound from both mics is truly and surprisingly exceptional. I’ve tried other mics, earbuds, lapel mics, etc.) No kidding, with my PCs and Zoom as the app, the the sound is loud, crystal clear and very lifelike. I tried switching back and forth between the cardoid and the omni. The omni results in slightly more of a “presence” sound, and sounds better when you want to pick up a variety of sound sources (e.g., multiple people talking simultaneously who are not seated right next to one another). I found the cardoid resulted in slightly better overall sound sound when it was just me sitting at my desk, speaking into the mic from a distance of about 24″ (with the mic pointed at me). So while I could detect a slight difference, both mics are really really exceptional!

The microphone on my son’s laptop leaves much to be desired. Given the pandemic and virtual schooling, he needed a replacement mic. Things he uses this for include asking questions in class, recording his cello playing and recording presentations in his French class. The cord allows him to move the mic wherever he wants it to sit, including closer to his cello.I have not yet heard any of his recordings. He says he really likes it though. I’m happy that he’s happy and can do his schoolwork without any technical difficulties. I’m also happy that this thing was so affordable. Based on his comments, I would happily buy it again.

I got this for my partner who needed a decent microphone. The built in volume knob and mute buttons are a nice touch! The ring around the knob glows green if you’re live, red if you’re muted, so you can ask your partner to bring you cheez doodles without everyone in the Discord chat hearing. But seriously, the indicator is handy. It also has Cool RGB Gamer Lights on the sides of the base which can be toggled on and off with a small button on top. The effect is nice, rotating through colors at a reasonable speed.Sound quality is nice! My partner sounds nice and clear on voice calls, and they have even recorded an episode or two for a podcast with this mic, and sound a-ok. It’s not professional recording studio quality of course, but it’s tons better than a mic built into a webcam or using your phone.

If you are running windows 10 there is a bug in the microphone settings where no matter what you do it will turn your input to 0 decimals thus making your microphone pick up zilch. The ONLY way to fix this, which sounds counter-productive and counter-intuitive, is to legit uninstall the driver on the device. So go to Search -> Device Manager -> Scroll down to find the device in the sound, video and game controllers -> Right Click Jouinivo JV603 (this microphone) -> Uninstall device -> It will default back to the Realtek driver or whatever you had before (which worked) and like magic, the microphone works. A bit frustrating but its finally working. Extremely happy with it. Skype and Zoom calls for work. Sounds amazing. Can clearly be heard to my team. Looks neat with the pulsing rainbow lights. You’re welcome.

1st days use:Connected the USB and it took about 30 seconds for Win 10 Pro to automatically recognize and complete driver install. It defaulted to the correct driver automatically. Had to later make an adjustment to turn off my bluetooth mic on my headset to avoid any software interference. [my bluetooth headset mic is pretty horrible]The receiving end of the line said they could hear me from 25 feet away while speaking in a normal voice. I had the mic volume about 3/4th up and once I turned it down to about 1/10th they could barely hear me from that distance.Thankfully the mute button changes from green to bright red so I know with great certainty the other end cannot hear the conversations from the entire room!Solid hard plastic weighted base and strong metal goose neck that swivels around pretty easily. Construction seems like it will last long time. I think the failing point over a long period of time would be bending or pinching the USB cable.Great price, definitely recommend!

Since the pandemic, the company I work for is asking most of its workforce to work from home. With a 3-year-old toddler and a 10-month-old baby at home with me, it makes virtual meetings in the main living area difficult. At first, I tried my Bluetooth headset with mic and the built-in mic on the laptop, both pick all the background noise as I had a party next to me.Then came this mic. I picked it because of the price, review here, and on YouTube. I used her for about a month before writing this review and I can comfortably say MOST of the background noise is gone. With the volume knob ser at about 25% and me being a few inches away from the mic from what my college tells me is it’s better than before.Every so often they can hear their voices but sounds like they are far away. Also, I tested by recording myself with some loud music in the background and can confirm the same.As an added bonus there is a physical mute button that will turn the led on the mic from green to red. Very useful for meetings where you want to put yourself in mute and have a visual indicator.Overall, I am satisfied with the product.

Used a Logitech USB standing mic for a long time. It was amazing for its time. Recently broke and so hard to find an alternative with a thin profile. Finally came across this and saw the price. First thought was, “Looks like a knock-off, but I’ll try it since it is cheap.” This microphone has been amazing! Even removes background sound my previous one sometimes picked up. The LED lighting at the base can be turned off for nighttime use but turned on when showing off the rig.I regret not immediately buying extra ones for office and wife use.
