I bought this to use with the Tracfone BYOP program. Activation took a couple of days to transfer my service and phone number (during which neither the new phone nor the old one worked) but eventually went through and it works fine. I had to manually update the APN settings to get MMS to work, using info from the Tracfone site. Everything else worked on its own as soon as the phone was activated. The phone itself is exactly what I was hoping for. The screen looks good and is very responsive, and it’s big enough to be comfortable without the phone being so big as to be awkward to use or carry. I was worried about the lack of an indicator LED but there’s a built-in app that displays notifications on the screen when it detects the phone being picked up or taken out of a pocket. Plenty of internal storage for apps as long as you’re not downloading huge games, there’s about 4GB available out of the box. I have a microSD card installed to store music and stuff on but I don’t feel the need to move every possible app to SD immediately like I had to on my old phone. Apps run smoothly with no lag or crashing. This may not be the absolute best phone available, but it’s got to be pretty close for a new phone in this price range. If you’re thinking of buying an Android from Tracfone, buy this and put a Tracfone SIM in it instead.

  10. Amazon Customer

For the price, I mean, what do you expect? It makes calls, connects to the internet, and installs apps. It’s not zippy, but it’s a phone. I end up breaking mine all the time and this one is good to throw around.
