I’ve had this product for a month and can safely say it is a reliable and cheap option for your 2DS or o3DS system.Plenty of storage space, a very reasonable price (compared to slightly more expensive microSD cards for N3DS systems) and it has no compatibility issues. I purchased a 32GB model, for reference. I believe any higher than that requires formatting, at least for SD cards, if not microSD cards as well.I’d still recommend formatting when you get it, anyway. I do that with all of my new storage mediums (SD, MicroSD, USB flash drive, hard drive, etc.) to be thorough.*o3DS stands for “Old 3DS” and is just a colloquial term for the older generation of 3DS systems that do not have the c-nub, four total shoulder buttons, extra processing power or head-tracking 3D of the New 3DS models. (New 2DS XLs should use microSD cards, so this is not a product you should purchase for those, either.)

I’m not a tech wiz but I’m by no means a complete moron when it comes to technology but I was somewhat distressed to find how little I knew about memory cards. I had received one with a little no frills digital camera a few years ago & had used them already but a recent faux pas brought my ignorance to light. I was at one of my daughter’s competitions with my little Panasonic video camera intending to record her show (she does color guard). We had bought the video camera a couple of years ago. It needed a memory card so I just took the one out of my other camera thinking that’s what I needed. Here’s where not realizing the difference between MB and GB ruined my plans.Trying to record the show, I kept getting the message that the memory was full. Turns out… The card was just 512MB! Those of you in the know are laughing I’m sure…yep, that may be fine for photos but NOT video..So after finding out 1 GB is roughly the same as 1000 MB, I knew what to look for. This card has a good amount of memory. I’ve recorded several of my daughter’s routines and still show as having just under half the memory available. I also have found that you get what you pay for. I bought a generic card that didn’t work and another that got corrupted quickly so I only trust SanDisk now! My next step is getting a 32GB and having a backup card at all times!

A lot of older equipment doesn’t work with class 10 cards and I never have compatibility or speed issues with class 4 cards and this 64gb class 4 is kind of a rarity. I use these in Canon HD video cams 2 of which don’t work with class 10 (almost ubiquitous now). You can upgrade these cams by sending them off to a distant location and hope they come back someday but I’m sticking to class 4. Class 6 also works but don’t see them much. I do use class 10 in my dslr which actually needs more processing speed than an HD video cam. Even on the very highest resolution settings, class 4’s work great in my 3 video cams. To be sure of compatibility I’d stick with 32gb class 4 as I’ve heard some older equipment doesn’t work on 64gb of any class.

I’ve used these to add storage to computers, digital cameras, GPS devices, and other similar applications. They are also useful for archiving files, and transferring files between devices. But then, anyone shopping for one already knows this. So far I have never had any speed or compatibility issues with this or any other SanDisk device. Having said this, my needs are probably not demanding. For occasional use, and low to medium volume data transfers, I’m more interested in reliability and compatibility than I am in absolute transfer speed. If you must have the very fastest read/write rates, I can’t comment. Maybe these are, but I don’t pretend to know. In my experience, these have been good, reliable units. The one piece of practical advice I might offer is this: I tend to buy cards with more storage capacity than I think I will strictly need. My reasons are threefold. First, storage capacity tends to be cheaper per data volume in the upper middle of the commercially available price range, high capacity but well short of the very highest capacity available. Second, if storage needs have ever tended to decrease, I have yet to observe it. Third, even if (is that “when”?) a device becomes obsolete, one can probably salvage the memory card and use it in some newer, more modern application. And that newer, more modern application may well come with a higher storage utilization than that of the obsolete one.

I sure am glad the digital camera I use takes up to 32 Gigabytes memory cards like this one! This simple itty-bitty memory card can hold as many as 10,000 pictures and up to 80 minutes of video footage! Even at maximum capacity, if your PC can handle a memory card that powerful, with at least 1 Terabyte of memory on the hard drive! Good thing I thought ahead with this little-giant, literal Digimon (Digital Monster), since my sister’s having a new baby, and my family wants lots of pictures of the baby’s first year on Earth, like with my niece Hayley in HER 1st year! If you have big events like that happening, it’s a great idea to get memory cards at 32 Gigabytes or more, if your camera can take them! Just be careful if your camera slows down turning on, when you have LOTS of pictures that you just cannot delete!

Purchased for my 3DS XL. Fit and worked perfectly. Now I have a LOT of blocks for storage space! I think when I first put this in I ended up having over 200,000 blocks? Now, after downloading I still have 145,668 blocks even after downloading 2 Harvest Moon games, Attack of the Friday Monsters, Mario and Luigi Dreamteam, Hakuoki, Starfox 64 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising, Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Pokemon Y, and Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds + some smaller indie games and demos. In other words, unless you plan on downloading the whole 3DS library on your system, you’ll probably never run out of space. Just make sure you have a computer with an SD card reader to do the transferring. Seriously takes about 6 minutes. Maybe less if you already know what you’re doing. Highly recommended!

I used this SD card to upgrade the amount of space I had for my Nintendo DS. I’ve had no issues with it whatsoever. Upon delivery I checked for any installed software or spyware and couldn’t find any. It also formatted without any issues.PROS:No lag when used in handheld video games. No spyware or other software pre-installed on the cardNo defects of corrupted dataCONS:None to note.

My little laptop has no hard drive, only a 32GB SSD. And with Windows installed, it doesn’t have much free space. Popping this card into the SD slot solves that problem beautifully. I know that newer cards have a higher transfer rate, but they sure are expensive! This Class 4 card is sufficient for my needs, and the price was little more than pocket change. I’m very happy with what I got.

This one worked perfectly! A second one ordered at the same time, labelled SanDiwk 2 GB Class 2 SD Memory Card SDSDB–2048-A(or 4?)11, was NOT ACCEPTED by my Konica Minolta Dimage Z20 Camera! I very reluctant to order more chips – the labelling depicted on Amazon doesn’t really inform as to which chip will be compatible with my camera – and these two chips looked physically identical and the labelling was essentially identical!

I love that SDHC card costs have decreased so much! I can fit over 9000 high resolution photos on this card without it filling up! This has been great for me on long vacations since I’m a picture taking junkie. I don’t need to waste time deleting those imperfect photos or videos from my camera when I’m trying to enjoy my vacation and capture it all. I don’t hesitate to take a photo or video to remember the moment. In the past I had to worry about wasting too much space on my SDHC card and then missing a photo that I really wanted to take because I hadn’t previously cleared photos of my camera. This also allows me to carry lots of memories with me on my camera and share them at any moment. This has been one of my best convenience purchases.
