10 reviews for RCA 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LED HDTV/DVD Combo

I read every review I could find when trying to upgrade from a 20″ tube TV for my bedroom. I was not looking to spend a lot of money and just wanted a decent quality flatscreen. This TV does the trick. The picture is clear and the sound is fine. I don’t understand the folks who are complaining about the sound, in our bedroom we barely turn the sound past 11 or 12.The TV arrived in excellent condition, the box was not damaged and I was surprised at how light it was! I was able to pick up the box by the handle with one hand. It was delivered late due to the snowstorms in the Midwest. I was expecting it on 12/21 and received it on 12/24 which put a damper on my Christmas Eve’s plans. The set-up should have been easy but the problem I had was with my cable box. It is an Explorer 4250 HDC box and was set to 480i instead of 1080i so when I initially hooked up the TV with my new HDMI cable, I could not get a signal. After reading everything I could and not being able to access the settings menu on the cable box, I finally called Time Warner Cable tech support in desperation. Turns out the problem was with the bedroom remote. When I used the living room remote and followed the instructions from Ron at TWC who was extremely patient and helpful, I was able to change the cable box settings and receive the HD signal. Voila!Love the TV, footprint is compact and the picture quality is sharp. Perfect for the the bedroom. Price was excellent and the built-in DVD player is a plus! You won’t be disappointed if you buy this TV.

Cheap, simple, uses minimum space, no wide frame

This was a good value purchase for me. The TV was easy to set up, the picture is sharp. The sound quality is good. One “complaint” I have is that the port for headphones is a loose fit, which hasn’t affected functionality of the headphones. When I tried to sync the set with the Verizon Fios universal remote control, I could not do so using the Verizon codes; however, the Verizon technician who helped me with a Fios set top box issue and I were able to enable the Verizon universal remote by using the code provided by RCA (and the technician noted that the Verizon codes didn’t work and the RCA codes did). Finally, I really like the built-in DVD player! It works like a charm. I do believe the RCA instruction booklet should be rewritten to notify the uses initially and in bold that simply inserting the dvd disk into the player will activate the DVD player function (and then go on to explain the options for manually activating the player). Nonetheless, as electronic equipment instructions go, the RCA manual was adequate.

I got this just to do dvds of exercises, but now I’ve found a whole new use for all my old dvds that I was about to get rid of. I know streaming is the “in” think of today, but there’s something nice about watching old dvds. Plus, the picture is great (dvd or tv). GREAT BARGAIN!!!

  5. Marie

    Nice television for the price.

  6. BOBHAM

This TV is a very good buy and met all of my expectations, especially when considering the low price.Great picture and fairly good sound. Installed it in a bedroom and the size is good for that.DVD performance not like blue-ray but is sufficient.Am thinking of buying an additional for another bedroom.Hope it holds up as well as my 4 Panasonics–led,lcd,2 plasma-1 to 6 years old and no repairs. I would have bought Panasonic again but they did not offer one in a 32 with a DVD built-in.

  7. Chriss Adams

This tv has a very clear picture and although I’m a little nervous about the “GLASS” stand it is very easy to assemble, and has an elegant look because of the stand!!! The only negative thing I can say about this tv is that it doesn’t have a description of the programs as you navigate from channel to channel so if you don’t have cable you don’t know what you’re watching!!! For that reason I would give it 4 1/2 stars!!! I bought this TV for my husband, and he loves it so I’m glad the UPS man knocked hard enough to wake my husband because I was not home during delivery!!! ♥♥♥

  8. Ron, Williamsbufg

I have always enjoyed a TV/DVD player and needed a new one. I tried Super Sonic, Norcent, Westinghouse, Naxa, Sceptre – I tried all of them hopefully! They all had issues. The RCA is the only one I can recomend.. PIcture detail and aspect is perfect for watching films and easily changeable! So is Audio Sound! Best TV/DVD out there by far. Forget the naysayers. It was so easy to start (I found I did not need the stand as it sits upright on its own for which I added mini-cushion pads to move around easily). RCA covered everything. The remote is easy to read and use. I love the quick buttons for aspect (zoom or wide screen etc.), audio sound options, and quick color options. It could not be easier. I had issues with all other 32 or 24 inch combos I tried as either the audio sound was too low or tinny or picture not clear or true, or hard to use remotes. This one has it all. I recommend whole heartedly. Worth the added cost!

  9. Melanie

tv’s with dvd players are hard to find (they are not making them anymore), but they are perfect for my kids’ rooms. the picture is beautiful & crystal clear…sound is crisp & deep (no sound bar needed). at this price, it’s a steal – I bought 2.

  10. S. Henke

I purchased this for my son for Christmas, and he loves it. His previous TV had pretty well had it. He said it was easy to hook up and had it running in no time. He said it has a good picture and is overall pleased.
