After researching online for weeks and weeks, I decided to buy this TV. Professional TV folks seemed to be unanimous that I’d you want a large TV for under a $1000, you should stay away from market leading brands. They said you get a lot more for your money with lesser known brands in this category, and that the big names’a offerings are very basic at this price point. This only seemed to be carried by Amazon and Bestbuy, but Bestbuy was out of stock.I was very nervous buying a 65” TV on amazon. Will it survive the shipping? Will it be a major hassle to return if it doesn’t work?It arrived safely without a scratch. I’ve had it for close to three months now and still haven’t mounted it in the wall, because in the back of my mind I thought what if I need to return it. It’s still sitting on my coffee table where husband and I put it when unpacking.I can confidently say I will not be returning this baby. She’s amazing!!!1. The picture is mind blowing. It’s absolutely utterly gorgeous! Watching something on Netflix, you feel like you’re inside the frame. I have never owned or seen a TV with such an amazing picture quality. It’s crisp and bright and colorful. The details are unbelievable. Now that I know every wrinkle and every zit on every big name actress, I feel better about myself LOL2. The sound is unbelievable and there is no way it would ever need a sound bar. We keep it at 11-13, and any louder than that, my neighbors would hear it! There is none of the empty tinny sound big brands have in their panels. This sounds rich and fills up the room.3. Remote is nicely designed and you don’t have to point it at the TV. It even works from under the couch, I tested just for fun. I’m amazed.4. Install was easy and straight forward.5. It looks beautiful with the thinnest of bezels.6. It’s good when viewed from wide angles!7. App downloading is quick and easy.If I were to change anything, I’d remove the logo from the front. It’s shiny nickel and distracts a bit. Almost wonder if I should take a black sharpie to it. It also on two occasions has problems connecting to WiFi, however unplugging it and plugging it back immediately solves the issue.Overall I am a very happy camper and after three months of use I am still in love and can confidently recommend this wonderful TV.

Having never owned a Hisense TV before I was intrigued by all the good reviews that I was seeing on TechRadar and some other forums as well about this TV. I had never heard of Quantum Dot before but upon seeing it with my own eyes I can now understand all the hype. The last TV that I purchased was in 2010, yes a long time ago, and it was a paltry 42″ and just standard HDMI. Once I had received the Hisense TV I was not only blown away by the sleekness of the product but also the amazing picture quality. There is basically no bezel around the television which makes for a extremely truly 54.6 inches of viewing area. I had gained around 13 inches from my previous TV. While the size is impressive in itself the picture quality is amazing as well. First the 4k picture looks like it comes straight from an artists gallery. My wife’s jaw was basically on the floor when she saw the quality of the picture. We tried viewing some 4k nature videos that we had purchased before we had this TV and were blown away by the colors and contrast of the TV.Making life even simpler for us was the fact that this is an Android TV. Our last TV had a Roku hooked up to it, as well as a Chromecast as well. We ditched those since there is now no need for them. Connected our TV to Android only took a few seconds and we were well on our way. So far I am truly blown away by a tv that costs a fraction of the big name brands. My parents just purchased a TV a few months ago and they were impressed when they noticed our new TV and what a great quality product we have.Pros:Screen is true to sizeIntuitive InterfaceSharp picture QualityEase of setupMy wife is extremely happyAndroid TV is awesomeGoogle Assistant makes life easierCons:Remote isn’t that exciting but that is subjective. Will keep you updated as I explore more about the TV. Buy with confidence as I am a convert to Hisense now.

I had high hopes for this TV considering the reviews and tech specs, however there is a huge flaw with the software that makes the display distorted and therefore the onboard apps are useless. With most TV’s you have the option to adjust the picture “Wide, Narrow, Cinema, Zoom, etc.”. These aren’t the best thing in the world but they can help if you’re not getting in a proper signal from your TV provider. However when you activate the TV’s onboard apps, the options to select these go away. That’s fine as you’d expect the apps to broadcast in a standard widescreen format. Unfortunately when trying the amazon, netflix, ABC, CBS apps there is a huge flaw. The TV seems to crop out the right hand side of the picture (about 2 – 3 inches) and then stretches 2/3 of the screen to make up for this crop. This means you end up with a horribly distorted picture. For instance with CBS live streaming, the stream starts off in a low resolution stream and the picture is just fine, however as soon as the full Hd picture kicks in, there is a slight jump as the picture is cropped (you cana see how the logo is cut off on the right hand side) and the rest of the screen is distorted to fit the picture into the screen. If you go into the screen settings there is no way to adjust the picture or turn this off as most picture adjustment is locked out (you can only adjust the brightness, contrast, tint, motion smoothing etc…)This only happens when using the TV’s built in apps. When you connect something like a Fire TV stick and access the same apps, the issue isn’t there, the whole picture is displayed as normal without the cropping and stretching.I checked to see if there was a software update to address the issue but the system is up to date. So basically you’re paying for an android TV that you can’t actually use the android apps on without a horrible distorted picture. When using the Amazon Fire TV stick though the picture is just fine. There is a small bit of blurring during high motion scenes but that’s to be expected from a 60HZ native panal. The motion smoothing (which some people may not like) can sometimes help make this blurring sharpen up, but can also lead to some motion artifacts. All in all, if you want a cheap large screen TV and intend to use an external streaming device, this TV is pretty good. However if you’re thinking of purchasing this TV and using the built in apps, I would not consider buying this model until the distortion issue has been resolved.**UPDATE** Hisense made the suggestion of resetting the system to get rid of the visual distortion. This 100% worked. I can now use the built in apps and they display just perfectly. I’m not sure why this was an issue considering it was a brand new TV and it was a bit time consuming having to reset up the app accounts and picture preferences but I’m very happy that it’s working perfectly now. Thank you hisense and as a result, I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. A bit of a setup hiccup but it’s now fixed and it’s a great TV for the price.

Hello, I game on PC at 4K and love to have my computer hooked up to a large screen. I came from a previous basic 43″ Sharp 4K TV to this and I’m still blown away. The biggest problem for PC gaming on a large screen is INPUT LAG but this TV is GREAT. On gaming mode, everything is very responsive, it’s impressive, and I even game on wireless keyboard and mouse, and PS4 controller! The picture is beautiful with true 4K and HDR compatible! TRUE BLACK! I feel happy to sit with this TV for a while now until the next big upgrade. Hisense has my attention for years to come now for delivering a truly worthy and well rounded product.

Nice build quality super thin bezel great sound picture is excellent with very good viewing angle on par with H9F. I found best pic for me is with vivid setting. Check out some hdr videos to see what this tv can really do. Its too bad that people will Rate a product poorly for For damaged during shipping or unpacking. That should be on the shipper not the product.

I used to use a TCL of the same size and price. Also 4k, also HDR.This TV, however, blows that one away. The picture seems sharper and the audio seems more far more dynamic. The remote also works (right out of the box, mind you) to control my Amazon Firestick 4k, except that there doesn’t seem to be an accessible ‘menu’ button that works on the Firestick, as the menu button on the remote pulls up the settings for the HDMI port that the FIrestick is plugged into. Speaking of HDMI ports, there are 4, instead of the usual 3 that I’m using to seeing on TVs.

Been keeping an eye out on a Hisense TV for a year now. Mainly due to the Android TV OS. The only other brand using this platform is Sony which I also owned and loved it. The down side is Sony’s price. Yes the picture is a more accurate one, but I love trying different technologies and brands. Well last year the only Hisense TV even worth buying was the 9 series which start at 55″ and since I was buying for the bedroom I’d prefer a good 50″ at much lower price. I didn’t mind getting the 55″ but every where you they were sold out and online sites who had them sold way above the retail price, so I waited. Then this TV came along this past month. Yes last year this Hisense had this 8 series out at a cheap price but not nearly as advanced as this years, so I bought two. I’d say this TV is almost on par w/ the 9 series of last year, but still updated software and remote and some actually better features. The Hisense version of Oled the Uled is not bad. Very vivid and this tv is very bright. Believe me on that, and viewing angles are also great. The motion features as all other reviewers mentioned are garbage. Color accuracy is not great, but still very good for half the price of more of other TV’s. I must say I have not played with calibrating the set yet, so know fine tuning it better – which takes time, I positive the picture can a d will be more accurate. The Atmos sound is actually much better than expected, it’s load. Playing music and bass is very impressive for a TV. Movies even sound great, and no doubt loud enough for 85% of people who buy this tv, who will choose not to buy a soundbar. Android TV setup is very clean and fast! More Apps from the Store than I thought, plus any App they don’t have can be sideloaded. Kodi, Plex, and other media players many Firestick users can be also used on this TV, so no need to buy an addons. I hooked a 2TB Mini Laptop SSD Drive one of the USB and instantly formatted it, and now this 8GB TV is a 2TB powerhouse of storage. Downside USB ports are not at least 3.0 to fully maximize speed of external SSD. But still quick. Voice assistant works properly, remote is not the best but works. Can add any Bluetooth Remote of your choice to improve navigation, or adds a Keyboard and mouse, or even a one in all Remote, keyboard, and touchpad. No connection issues so far. TV arrived in perfect shape( Was a worry of mine). Overall without question for the price this TV can not be beat for Picture Quality, Sound, Android OS, and Design (Which could use a little improvement)Cons:*Yes the stupid 1/4in black trim that that blends in with the bevel is a disappointment. Not only does it take almost an inch from the Picture size but makes the small bezel look like an old fashioned TV w/ an 1/2 bezel. Reminds me of Small Bezeled Laptops with the black trim lining on the outside most of the screen but worse. *Old HDMI inputs on a 2020 new model tv also degrades the TV and it’s potential.*USB 2.0 Ports (Outdated)*No Backlight on remote, no quick exit from menu, no quick menu options to change pic & sound modes quickly when changing from what your watching. If I want to listen to a news report, music, or movie I don’t want to have to go through the whole menu to change modes only to change back modes when switching back to movies.***** Bottom line BUY THIS TV*******Having both a top end Sony Android TV, and this Hisense, the difference in Overall Quality is not much difference between the two. The big difference compared is the Price Tag. If you have lots if money to pay twice the price for a TV that’s a tad bit better, then go with the Sony. ^ I’d love to test out the2020^//Hisense 9 Series if $$$ right\

Best combination of price and stunning video quality. I own two LG OLED TVs and this holds its own very well. It may also be one of the few new 2020 televisions to make it out of China this year.

We researched a LOT of TV’s, and with the pandemic going on, TV’s were actually hard to come by. We found info. on the Hisense TV’s from reading review etc. So we figured out which size we wanted (replacement for our bedroom TV that died) and we waited. We were buying through Amazon because we had gift cards… so again we waited. The second the TV came back in stock and at the price we wanted we bought! So far we have been nothing be VERY pleased with this purchase. The TV is very bright & crisp, very good sound quality, and love the Google features. Would most certainly buy again & have told friends about our purchase!

55H8G @ $450… My other television is a 65” LG OLED…Picture quality compares well to the LG. It’s obviously not as good, but it’s way better than I expected. Colors are vibrant and the picture is crisp. The local dimming is legit – a pre-purchase worry. Gray scale uniformity is also good, which was something I was worried about. The speakers are surprisingly good. The viewing angles are not good though. There’s a setting in the menu to enable better viewing angles, but since this is a bedroom television, bad viewing angles don’t matter to me.I’m not a huge fan of the Google interface. It’s slow and Netflix won’t work for me. I recommend a Roku or Apple TV instead.TLDR; if you don’t mind the Google interface, then this television is a great value with better than anticipated picture quality. I wouldn’t recommend it for gaming.
