Installation:- It’s a project. The template is not full size like other have noted, so I needed to measure and measure again.- The recess box is key to ensuring flush mount and hiding cables.- Pro Installation would have been much faster, obviously, and it may be worth it. Now that I have done the work it’s a push. If you are handy with tools and cutting open walls go for it. If not, spend the money and save the headache.Picture:- The color and clarity are what is expected our of an OLED.- The brightness is something you have to see to understand the concerns. The big box stores are pushing the TVs and when it’s first fired up I immediately saw the issue. Not that it is a huge factor, but just understand there is a difference and you will have to work through the settings.And More:- I have been using Chromecast for years since I find it much easier to use my phone to find content and cast (essentially my remote). I was worried about the ability to operate in the same fashion, but to my surprise WebOS works really well (via Ethernet by the way) and the “LG ThinQ” app, once the TV is added, acts as a remote and allows you to navigate.- The only app I do not have on the TV is HBOMax and I heard this was not available, so when watching content there I will use the Chromecast.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Let me start my review by saying, this is my first OLED TV, and I’m regretting not getting an OLED earlier. The picture is exceptionally stunning. The LG GX series combines perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and a beautiful gallery-style design that sits flush against the wall to give you a perfect watching experience.The biggest and best feature of this television is the beautiful picture. With self-lighting OLED pixels, you dark scenes in movies like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 4K Dolby Vision on Disney+ look fantastic as the creators imagined. My past 4K TVs have been LCD and I was often frustrated by the noticeable backlights that would halo content on the screen. With OLED, that problem is gone.The operating system of the television is very fast and easy to use. I love the magic remote that lets me easily type and select content with a flick of my wrist. It feels like a wand from Harry Potter, or a way better Wii remote. Every single app I wanted to use was included, from Netflix, to Disney+, to Hulu and YouTube TV. The only missing apps were HBO Go, HBO Now, and HBO Max. This is disappointing, as when you press the search button on the remote, it suggests “Turn to HBO” right on the screen. However, because the TV supports Apple Airplay, I could easily open the HBO app on my iPad and send it to the TV. Hoping LG can add HBO in the future as a native app.The gallery-style design of the 2020 GX series is the stand-out feature. This TV is meant to be mounted on the wall by professionals. In fact, it does not even include a stand. While you could buy a stand on eBay that LG sells in certain markets for the GX series, I do not recommend it. If you want the exact same TV and do not plan to mount it on the wall, buy the CX series instead for less money. If you have the right spot on the wall, buy the GX. It is so thin that my friends and family were in awe of how sleek it looks when mounted. It is not as thin as, say, the LG Wallpaper TV, but that’s because the Wallpaper TV had a required soundbar and wire to run down to the box. The LG GX is all-in-one. Now one caveat here is that OLED panel can experience burn-in if you are not careful. I do not recommend leaving this TV on like the Samsung Frame with artwork (even though LG includes an art gallery mode). There are features built-in to avoid burn-in, which made me feel better. And yes, you can fit a Chromecast behind the TV and still have it sit flush if you want to have Cast built in.To get the best picture, I recommend playing around in the deep picture settings menus and turning off things that mention Frame Rate or Motion to avoid the Soap Opera Effect. You can also switch to the included Filmmaker Mode to do this automatically, but note that Filmmaker Mode lowers the brightness of the screen, so you won’t get the most impactful picture. I also recommend turning off the Power Saving Mode as this limits the maximum brightness of the OLED panel.The 2020 LG GX is a luxury TV for any home-theater geeks who want the best picture, with the best design, and a top of the line operating system. I highly recommend this TV to anyone who is looking.

OLED quality does not need introduction. The glare from window is minimal (see photo). Previously we could not watch TV during day.But what really surprised me is the smartTV software — WebOS. For the first time in decade I no longer need to connect TV to computer, Roku, Android, or any other attachments. It’s easy to use. Just WiFi and Power. This also helps to have a clean mount on the wall — only need to hide the power cable.The enclosed wall mounting bracket is small and light. Enclosed screws are only for wood or cement, you might need to buy drywall anchors.

I give the item 5 stars be Ouse I know it’s a good quality TV. My issue was a different one. Order this TV thru Amazon for the same price I could pay anywhere else with one week in advance and selected a day and time I was going to be home. I tracked the item thru the site link, it was a smooth process till it arrived to a Miami warehouse at 12:30AM, after that everything is a mystery. I contacted Amazon and as always they are very polite but I could sense they knew the same as me. I waited for another 2 days expecting to see the TV box been moved from that Miami warehouse to a truck. It never happened. Called Amazon again, they put me on hold, transferred me to a logistic rep that basically without asking too much said “the item can’t be located”… immediately we switched to the cancellation process. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! NEVER AGAIN I WILL PURCHASE AN EXPENSIVE AND LARGE BOX ITEM THRU AMAZON. It’s a nice TV, but keep in n mind that you can order it thru any other local store for the same price. Things are not working as before or as it should in some Amazon markets. Sad… good luck everyone.

Beautiful picture quality, very sleek and thin as advertised. Only negative is mounting instructions — excessively complicated picture based instruction for use of LG bracket. (Finally saw YouTubes on how this should be done.) Written instructions for anchoring only into concrete. Who in the US homeowner market has cement walls. Bracket does not have suitable slots for 16” stud spacing. Ended up using stainless steel washers at the extreme ends of mounting slots of LG bracket and long screws into studs on lath and plaster wall. See photo. From the instructions, sounds like one is not supposed to do this??Also never received email instructions on how to claim my free bluetooth soundbar from Amazon??

I was initially waiting for the 48 inch CX model to be primarily used as a PC monitor for programming and gaming but I didn’t want to wait any longer.The PC monitor I was using before the GX was a 43 inch LG 4k 60hz monitor(LG 43ud79b). I thought 55 inch might be too big as a desk PC Monitor So i went my bedroom and took down Samsung 55 inch KS8000 TV from the wall and moved it over to my office desk. Initially, it was overwhelming and felt too big. However, after 3 days, i was getting used to the size and felt more comfortable.Only issue i had with the setup was it felt too close from where i was sitting since the TV was not mounted to the wall. I looked at the CX specs and it looked as it will not be flush against the wall as bottom portion of the TV in the back is quiet thick and the TV mount will also add more space between the wall and the TV.Then I looked at the more expensive GX model and whole back of the TV is very thin and it comes with a flush mount which can be used to mount the TV on the wall with 0 gap so it sits flat on the wall.Long story short I bought the 55 inch GX model at 2299 which is excellent price since it also comes with the actual mount. However, it does not include a TV stand. For my case, it was going to be wall mounted anyway so I did not care for the TV stand. If you can’t mount the TV, you will need to buy the stand from LG separately.I was able to mount the TV in about 20 min using the included screws(4 screws) on 2 studs. Keep in mind that the included mount is only about 16 inches so placement on the wall will be very tricky unless you have those two studs at the perfect location. Cable management system is very well implemented behind the TV and it will route through back of middle of the TV. cables will not bulge your TV out and it will stay flush to the wall. Just add a cable raceway and you are good to go. I turned on the TV and I was impressed over the picture quality especially the black level compared to the IPS LG monitor next to it. I am primarily using it as a PC monitor and do not watch cable TV or bluray/uhd on it. My face is about 3.9 feet away from the TV and it feels very comfortable.PC Monitor Usage as a Programmer and Gaming 4k 60hz + GSync + HDR (on/off) (using 2080 ti)1. Great Big screen. All text looks clear. I am using it in PC mode. Need to change label or icon to PC to make it into PC MODE2. Set the TV to Game Mode3. In Nvidia Control Panel. I set the color format to 422, 12 bit color depth, and output dynamic range to limited.4. You can use HDR with above settings at 60hz when using 3840 x 21605. Gaming is awsome at 60hz with HDR and GSYNC. I tried Gears Tactics and Shadow of Tomb Raider. Both games look awsome. GSYNC range will be 40 to 60hz.6. I only turn on HDR for HDR supported games. for desktop it looks awful.PC gaming at 4k 120hz without HDR + GSYNC1. for this mode, you will need to select the 4k resolution under PC in nvidia control panel.2. You will be able to select 100hz and 120hz.3. You can enable GSYNC however you will not be able to use HDR due to HDMI 2.0 Limitation with current generation of video cards. Once, HDMI 2.1 supported video cards come out, we will be able to use 444 120hz 10bit and HDR at the same time. However, LG CX and GX and all other 2020 oled models will be limited to 40 gbps for HDMI 2.1 and not the 48 gbps so we will not be able to use 444 120hz HDR 12bit. On a side note last years model is capable of using full 48 gbps but currently it cant to 120hz at 4k unlike the CX or GX model over hdmi 2.0.Overall I am very impressed with this TV and I am glad I went with the GX model over CX as it allows more space between my eyes and the TV since it sits flush against the wall. As for the Size, you get used to it and it feels right. I don’t think I will ever go smaller. I think 55 inch is sweet spot for me.Updates:I got RTX 3090. Below information also applies to RTX 3070, 3080Using HDMI 2.1 cable, Now I am able to select 3840 x 2160 Resolution, 10bit and Full RGB, GSYNC on, HDR ON and 120hz.Initially there were some bugs such as screen blacking out, however, LG has already fixed this issue with a firmware update.There is one remaining issue, where it can stutter when FPS is between 100 and 120 fps. This has been confirmed By LG and the fix should roll out soon with a firmware update.For now, you can limit the max FPS in NVIDIA control Panel and limit the fps to 99 FPS to avoid the stutter when fps goes over 100.I am enjoying this screen even more with the RTX 3090 and playing games on this LG OLED GX is out of the world.Thanks LG for great support and getting things patched up so quickly.Updates 2Stutter issue when FPS is between 100 and 120 fps while using GSync is now fixed with a new firmware. I Just received the OTA update 3.11.30. I can confirm the issue is now resolved.FYI: Included bolts are fine for mounting the tv on the studs. I have pulled out the TV countless times to upgrade HDMI cables and test different HDMI cables. I used 4 included bolts with the TV. before the TV arrived, I bought stronger bolts from HOME DEPOT but I did not ending up using them because it would not fit the holes.

I got this thing in order to be PS5 ready for when decent controllers become available. Install was easy with the included wall mount. Since then, it’s been a pleasure. Great picture and viewing angle. After setting up Netflix, Amazon prime, and YouTube and the binge watching station is complete.

When people see this picture, they can’t believe their eyes. It looks like someone has cut out the wall of your house and you are watching something real in front of your eyes. Even dreaded commercials look outstanding. Scenery in a movie is stunning. Football games look like you are standing on the sideline, you can see every blade of grass, and the team jerseys OMG. Skin tones are exceptional. Fireworks are breathtaking. The sound is the best I have heard in a wall hung set, lots of bass. The 4k upscaling makes my cable picture look like Blu-ray. It’s not inexpensive but worth every penny I paid for it. We love it.

Pros:* It is impossibly thin. I know there are thinner models out there but this thing is very low profile.* Installation turned out to be fairly easy (there’s a con here see below).* It’s really easy to switch between streaming services and devices. Much better than the older model of hitting “input” several times.* Finally, and most important, the picture quality is amazing. When watching a HD video it feels like the actors are just on the other side of a window.* with the “AI” features the TV enhances lesser-quality video to make it come close to the realism of HD video.Cons:* Installation instructions are daunting and they don’t have any suggestions for how to put it up on hollow walls. Luckily, I had a stud near the center of the mounting area and was able to use molly bolts for the other anchor points.* The interface for local lan file servers sucks and it does not support older file formats.

Unbelievable clarity. Color and true black is spot on. Great tweaks for most all picture and sound options. If possible, hook it to internet and update firmware BEFORE hooking up your sat, bluray, or other input sources. New firmware fixes a few bugs. REAL good hdmi cables are a MUST! If they are not 2.0b or better, don’t bother using them. I made that mistake. If you can find 2.1 cables, get them. Saves you from lots of problems.If you use a receiver, make sure it has a earc or arc or you will have real problems getting sound to work correctly.Paired this with the Denon AVR-X4700H 8K Ultra HD 9.2 Channel (125 Watt X 9) AV Receiver 2020 Model and my Klipsch 7.1.2 Reference speakers. I think I am done, finally. It doesn’t get much better than that!
