I had a seven year old Acer laptop that worked great but over time it got slow. Bought this one and it is lighting fast. Love the ethernet input. Now getting 278 mbps. Acer makes a great product at a very good price.

I love the backlit keyboard. The fast browsing even with my Adobe Lightroom running and the 16 GB storage space. The screen is large and bright. It’s seriously just what I was looking for and I love it.

Sadly, this thing comes with Windows. To make it useful, I downloaded a manjaro iso and did a dd to a usb stick.To install, hold the power key until it turns off. Plug in the ethernet. Turn on and tap f2 until you get to a bios menu. You have to set a supervisor password under security to turn off secure boot in the boot menu, which you need to do to boot from the usb stick.F10 to save and reboot. Tap f12 to get a boot selection and pick the usb stick. Pick install, follow the prompts, and reboot at the end to come up with a linux box.When back up (manjaro), bring up a terminal and do a “pacman -Syyu” to update all packages. I’m sure ubuntu and fedora folks can figure out their package managers.Wifi worked fine, but needed to be set up with the network manager. Hibernate on case close also seems to work. Display is 1920×1080 with a 59.5Hz refresh.Power, usb2, usb3, and hdmi on the left. Usb2 on the right. Bluetooth paired with my headset pretty easily.

Just received this laptop. So far so good. Its very slim and light weight. Use it for Zooming during covid-19. Its seem like a good laptop for the price.

the order was delivered by UPS – took about 6 days- the UPS driver (no brains there) left the package outside the door in the snow even though we were inside the house watching TV. The laptop felt frozen once I realized it was already delivered outside – I left it alone for about an hour to get to room temperature. I started it up and within about 10 minutes I was up and running. I work in IT dialing into my work PC for about 9-10 hrs a day. After that I still have it on just browsing… Its a very thin laptop and fast. And there must be something with the screen as my eyes do not bother me after 10 hrs on it.. I installed a few software on it and connected it to my printer and scanner. All the installs were done very easy and fast with windows 10. It did one security upgrade to windows 10 and took about 5 min which is very fast based on my experience with other laptops. Battery seems that it will last for about 6 – 7 hrs – I do not know for sure since I always have it plugged in. I have been using it for over a week now, and so so far I am very pleased and glad I choose it. If I have any issues I will post again.

I’m comfortable with this model. It does what I want at an affordable price. If I could just stop dumping lattes and water bottles onto the keyboard, I could talk about longevity. Although I may be about to have my first “not-me” problem with one of these; I’m hearing the fan struggling on occasion. Then I check to be sure the ventilation hasn’t been blocked, and turn my room fan or a/c on to help cool things down. When it started happening, I ordered its replacement. Haven’t started using it yet. Stars given based on prior experience with this model.
