I bought the Marantz SR6015 AVR. My first audio equipment that utilized AUDYSSEY room calibration. I have used other receiver calibration systems, but they only required one calibration spot. Audyssey requires eight. Out-of-the-box Marantz gives you a “cardboard” tripod. It may work, but I took one look at it and didn’t even try it. I ordered this baby and with PRIME had it the next day. This tripod is SUPERB at any cost. However, it is not recommended for anything much larger than an iPhone 12 Max. You better heed that advice. Although, the legs are sturdy, the “gimbal” is sturdy, and everything locks in place, the laws of physics must be respected. I say five-pounds or less inside a building. Outside a building, three-pounds or less.To throw fate in your favor, be sure to “tighten” the handle on the gimbal (that projects at a right angle) you would use this to maneuver the camera or mic attachment. This is very important; it took me several uses to realize all the functioning. This device went from a 3/5 to a 5/5. Every handle, knob, or clasp is there for a reason.

Is this a professional tripod and will I use it when it is windy? No. But I can use it inside, easily on tabletops, etc. I will probably hook a carabiner and my camera bag to the middle for added stability if it IS windy, but this folds up nicely and it will travel easily.

First off, I own a Gitzo tripod that costs many, many times what I paid for this tripod. However, you can’t always carry a heavy tripod/ballhead on your expeditions. I bought this to take on a Grand Canyon rafting trip. It is light, relatively sturdy (unless it is windy), and held my DSLR (Canon 7d) with a wide angle lens. I used it solely for astrophotography during the quiet evening hours. I got some great Milky Way shots, which required 30 second exposures. Using a remote shutter cable, I was able to get several tack-sharp photos of the stars. I think the larger version would be even more convenient to use, as I had to stoop a bit to compose my shots with this model. Also, I’m not sure it would securely hold a DSLR with a telephoto (70-200 or 100-400 zoom) The controls are crude, but work, and nothing broke. I’ll find more uses for this tripod in the future. Amazing how light this tripod is!

the tripod is extremely light, so it is highly recommended for travel. I am a photographer, so I take many considerations into account when choosing a tripod. My opinions are as follows:- It is ideal for traveling because of how light it is, however I do not recommend it for heavy professional cameras or those with a heavy lens. Won’t take it- Ideal for phones (as in the image) or photography accessories, such as flashes, Lights, bouncers or compact cameras.- if you want to use it for a professional camera, I advise to use it as a kickstand or monopod- As for robustness, I have my doubts. I think it is quite easy to break with a strong accidental blow. However, being careful is the most normal thing to do.- Great price if you need a lightweight, low-cost tripod- It has a leveler, so it is an extra utility to take into account. It has all the functions of a common tripod. Its knobs are strong and secure. Turns easily and smoothly for moving shots.- It has a bag for traveling, very practical. Important to avoid being uncomfortable and transporting it easily.- I have been using it for several months now and I have not had any problems. So I recommend it for the uses I name above.

With the purchase of my first DSLR camera, I wanted a cheap tripod to learn on. I was able to add this AmazonBasics 50-Inch Lightweight Tripod to my order for the low price of $13.96. I do quite a bit of hiking, camping, and other outdoor sports. I wanted something lightweight that wasn’t too pricey. This fit perfectly. I purchased this tripod in July of 2017, so I have had quite a bit of time to test it.I have used this tripod in many outdoor settings now, but my favorite was using it to take photos of the solar eclipse from Wyoming in August 2017. I have a Nikon D3400 camera and typically use either my 18-55 lens or my 70-300 lens. If you are looking for an affordable starter camera, I am very happy with this camera set-up and tripod and would recommend it. I am definitely not a professional, though. This tripod has quite a bit of range in adjustment, and is fairly easy to adjust but could be smoother. The legs extend in three sections with locks. Fully extended, it can be a little unsteady, so I would recommend staying slightly under if you are in a windy or unstable area. The head is able to turn up and down as well as side to side. The plate the camera sits on can be rotated between landscape and portrait mode with the camera still attached, which I found to be a convenient feature. This tripod also has a quick release feature and a level, both of which can be very handy. I found all of these features to be great for the price. The tripod comes with a zippered bag. This bag fits the tripod perfectly and it is easy to put away. The bag has a strap that is not uncomfortable but could have a little more padding. The strap shortens to be a handheld strap length, or doubles in size to wear on your shoulder. All together, the tripod in the bag roughly one and a quarter pounds which is great for the price. I have taken the tripod on quite a few lengthy hikes without it being an issue.Overall, I would recommend this tripod if you are a beginner looking for a cheaper tripod, or if you need a lightweight tripod. If you need more stability, I would look for something else.

Bought this is a gap filler but ended up loving it. It holds a D300s and D700 with D lenses no problems. No good for macro tho as its light enough the shutter kick shakes it but for anything else it’s an excellent value. It’s very compact when folded, the bag is nice and has a shoulder strap. Aesthetically pleasing, the color and design are nice I think. Three section legs, pretty short at first and not as tall as most would like but acceptable. The quick release isn’t the best but it doesn’t suck. It’s small and I’ve already managed to break the alignment peg off but once the camera is locked in you’re good. Orientation is odd with the shape of it but it works all the same.Adjustments are easy and confident, it uses threaded collars to squeeze and bite down on the axis which usually I dont like because they slip and strip, and this may after a year or so but for now when I tighten down these heavy heavy cameras and lenses it holds like a champ at all angles. Havent tried vertical yet but have had it on a roof pitch among other things and it stood strong. One big thing to know, the spread of the legs, the base area is not big, meaning high center of gravity. It is basic yet very nice for the money, surprisingly nice. It is sturdy, I carry mine every day on the side of my bag. But dont buy this and expect it to be a work horse. It is light, it is tubing, it will bend and break if you abuse it.This is an excellent value for anyone needing a stand to start out or more stands to setup their shoot properly. For the price and convenience I’ll end up getting a few so I can spread out lights, mic’s, and cameras using multi point adapters. 3 of these is better than one good one in my opinion. Remote flashes, video lights, reflectors, little things that add up and pile up are where this guy shines. For 16 bucks its worth a shot right? At least until you can get that carbon fiber, collapsible, tripod/monopod with the fluid head for over 100!

I bought this tripod expecting it to be a “good enough” product for the low price. The height was important to me, but – other than that – as long as it held my camera, I expected to be happy. When it arrived, the quality was far better than I’d expected. It’s sturdy, and includes lots of ways to adjust the angle (and height) of the tripod, to get that “just so” photo or video. In addition, I’m using it with a wooden box designed as a portable (plein air) easel. That’s one reason I needed a tripod with a good, tall option. And, I hoped it’d be sturdy enough to support the box, my paints, my brushes, my palette, and a medium-small canvas. This tripod is a winner on all counts, and delivers everything I needed… and more.I’d expected to buy this and – when I planned to take more photos/videos – buy something more expensive (figuring a pricier tripod would be better quality). Now, I have no reason to replace this tripod. The quality is easily as good as tripods I’ve paid two or three times more for, and I expect this one to last at least as long as they did.

Definitely lightweight, amazingly sturdy and capable of posturing anything at any angle. I purchased it to assist with a projector for my bedridden client. It is perfect and allows my client to enjoy her projector while supine in bed or up in her wheelchair. Handy and a frustration eliminator as angling the projector was becoming a pain in the bottom. It’s extremely versatile and it can be placed at a plethora of different heights (very easily). Regardless of what device you secure to the tripod, there is a snap-on/off mount which makes it so easy; you don’t have to screw your device on and off every time you want to reposition your device. Absolutely awesome!

I read other reviews that correctly state the flimsy nature of this tripod when fully extended for maximum height. Here’s a tip for significantly improving stability — first, fully extend each leg section; then, push the section exactly one inch back into the larger section and lock it. You will lose 3 inches in height (47″ vs. 50″) , but the tripod will now be very stable with little or no wobble. I’m very happy with these tripods (I bought 4 of them). Great value for the price, imho. Recommended.

I was very indecisive about buying this product after reading reviews about how it’s poorly made. I was afraid it wouldn’t be able to hold my canon t3i, but for the price I said why not and so far I’m loving it! I also love the fact that it comes with its own bag. Does the job, it’s nothing fancy(which I didn’t really care for anyways). Definitely would recommend this to my friends!!
