We had a patio installed at our house last year, and were contemplating buying an outdoor sound system so we could listen to music on the patio. After researching outdoor sound systems and realizing it would cost us hundreds, if not thousands, to install, we came across this offering from Bose, and so glad we made the purchase. This little speaker is very compact, yet puts off some serious volume and bass. Not only has it become an ideal solution for outdoor entertaining, we’ve brought this speaker on vacation, to friends’ houses, and many other places only to get compliments on it’s throughput and clarity of sound. It’s accompanied me through loud work during a remodel, and it’s my daily driver for listening to music/podcasts while I work from home.I’m no audiophile, but the sound quality is very good; music sounds deep and rich, and podcast conversations/audiobook narration is crisp and clear. Also, for such a small device, it puts off a surprising amount of bass.I also love the fact that it has some waterproofing inherently, as it’s taken a couple of splashes from a sprinkler and some raindrops while outdoors. For my money, the versatility this device brings makes it a great purchase that will bring you enjoyment for years to come.

This speaker sounds great. I love that you get a full range of sound compared to other speakers which focus on highs or low. This speaker have ample amount of bass. For the price this is exactly what I expected. This speaker gets pretty loud. Bose isn’t known for loudness so don’t expect super super like an EV or something like that. This speaker focuses on the sound quality and I have to say it is one of the best sounding speakers I have heard. The app is pretty cool as well. I like that I can take a phone call and it doesn’t interrupt my music. This was a huge plus. I love the built in assistant feature. I have Alexa speakers around my house, this fits right in. I am able to sit in my yard and still control my smart home and have access to all Alexa has to offer. If your looking for a good high quality speaker look no further.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I like to sit on the patio with a beer and listen to music I like. And if I’m in the garage working on our road bikes I like to have some good music going. My wife decided to buy me a good quality portable speaker for Xmas. It had to have blue tooth, wi-fi and airplay 2 mainly because I want to keep my iPhone free to use. It would also be great if I could take it with us when we travel by car or air. My wife got on Amazon on Black Friday and ticked off the various brands and models that fulfilled most of these things but the only one that she found that seem to fit the big picture was the Sonos Move Wireless Speaker. My wife got a good Black Friday deal for $299 and it arrived within a day or 2. As soon as I picked up the box from our doorstep I knew there was a problem…..too heavy. I checked the specs on Amazon and this thing weighed over 6 lbs which is pretty chunky to cart around the house or lug as carry on baggage. I got on Amazon myself and found the Bose Portable Smart Speaker. It weighed a little over 2 lbs and ticked all the boxes. It didn’t come up on my wife’s Black Friday sale search because it wasn’t on sale. With the optional charging base it came to almost $400 but I still ordered it. It arrived the next morning and I charged it up to compare with the Sonos Move. Both speakers sounded great but the compact size and the light weight of the Bose Portable Smart Speaker won the day. If it played my iTunes it would be perfect but I use Pandora and of course Amazon Music. It was worth the extra bucks !

I currently own a variety of portable speakers, hard wired speakers and a home theater system. I have always been a fan of BOSE for the sounddock systems and the portable battery powered Revolve +. Bose is known for over emphasized & artificially created soundstage. However, this in my opinion is a positive when it comes to small portable speakers. When the first BOSE sounddock came out years ago I was amazed at how big and full it sounded for it’s size. I have had a few generations of that one and now they have the Bose Soundtouch 10,20,30 series. I own the series 20 and have it at my office. Great smaller hardwired speaker. However, I wanted a portable speaker to take to the beach, pool, my garage, our back porch, yard, etc. The answer was the BOSE Revolve Plus. First time I powered it on I was amazed at the sound and bass for the little size. The battery lasts a long time and being splash proof was nice when we would take to our friends pool. With our growing family I find the revolver plus disappearing more so I was looking to purchase another. I waited a few weeks knowing BOSE was coming out with the newer version that was only slightly bigger, more powerful, deeper bass, WiFi AND now with Alexa and other app capability. I received it about a week ago and it was very easy to hook up to internet, update and run the BOSE app. No issues like some others have had. I really enjoy being able to run it on WiFi at home, but still be able to use Bluetooth if out and about. I think the Sonos app is better, but the Bose app is still ok and seems to get better with updates. (Been using the BOSE app a few years now) After charging, I set it side by side with Revolver plus to see if it was different enough or if I would be sending back for another Revolver plus. I could easily flip back and forth in my Spotify app to move the sound instantly from one back to the other over and over. Tried different genres of music from Country, to Hip Hop to Jazz to Rock. Definitely a warmer and more filling sound with the new BOSE Portable Home Speaker. Louder as well if needed. I thought the Revolver had great sound, but now it sounds a little flatter next to this one. The extra radiator gives a little more bass too which is nice. The size between the two is almost the same with the new Bose being a hair taller and wider and a tad heavier. I have a pic of both above side by side. I skipped the Sonos Move, not because of sound, but its size, weight and portability. No way are you throwing that speaker in a suitcase or car to travel. Much heavier and much bigger in size. The size of this speaker and grab handle make it excellent for taking anywhere with you. Add the built-in Alexa and you get a great speaker. Yes, it is a tad pricey. If you are considering the Revolve plus, spend the extra $50 for this one. You won’t be sorry. Overall I am very satisfied with this speaker. Very clear highs, “ok” mid-range and decent bass for the size. I also like you can adjust the bass and treble on this one where the Revolve you cannot. I currently own a Sonos Play 5, which I love and use in my family room. I also own a Sonos Beam for a center in the family room. Both are great for that room and I really like the Sonos app. I also have a Martin Logan theater system in the basement. This Bose is honestly not that far behind the Play 5 which is mind boggling. Just shows you what a great job BOSE can do with such a tiny footprint. To sum up, if you want a portable speaker that you can actually take with you easily to the beach, pool, yard, gym or anywhere, I don’t think this speaker will disappoint for the size, sound, Alexa capability and battery life. Well done BOSE!

Easy setup using phone app. I am not very proficient using a cellphone. Still have a landline and use cell phone for emergency only. Alexa works great-very intelligent. Recognizes my other Alexa devices.Originally, I purchased a Logitech Megablast($249 model). Would not recognize my WIFI. Looked in the help section and it said I had to reconfigure my router. Plus, they only email support for problems. I returned it.The Bose had no problem.I learned my lesson. Buy the quality product.

The Bose Smart (Home) speaker is really powerful. With good battery life, this can provide you an excellent movie experience on laptops and gaming experience on iPad/iPhone.The bass is strong, the mid is thick and the high is clear.Being very picky, if comparing to a Bang & Olufsen speaker, the sound quality of the Bose Smart Speaker is not that great. However, this speaker already dominates the market at its price range. This speaker just can’t go wrong!

The sound from this Bluetooth speaker is amazing! The music I listen to is country, classical, classic rock, Motown, and Rat Pack era. It all sounds terrific! Just hearing the sound, you would never guess that it was coming from a small streaming device. (I usually stream via Amazon Music HD.)I had no problem setting up Alexa on the speaker. And, I linked my Amazon Music & Sirius accounts via the Bose app easily. I do wish that I could assign Alexa a different name since I already had a device using “Alexa.” But, I think that’s probably a limitation from Amazon. Not a big deal – I just renamed the Show. My speaker’s usually plugged in, so I can’t attest to battery life.

Bose, the name says it all.The first set of portable speakers that I bought was Bose Revolve Plus and I felt already that the sound was superior quality compared to the other competitors but this portable home speaker is 10x better than its predecessor and it’s also smart which is a major deal breaker.Pros:- BOSE- Supreme sound quality(never heard with 100% volume because it never felt necessary which is a good thing)- Premium finish- The Buttons at the top feels really good to touch, made with superior quality rubber- Battery quality is good but since it’s a smart speaker, it is advised to let it be on charge always- can function as a Bluetooth speaker and as a smart speakerCons:- one major negative for me was that when you say hey google or Alexa, you don’t get the prompt sound or does it have any sound in the end which is kind of a downer for me because I never know whether it heard me- Bose music app feels sluggish and requires lot of bug fixes(software wise)- Doesn’t work with Bose connect- Not completely water resistant. Can resist water splashes but not advisable at all.Bottom line:Bose’s best portable home speaker till date and definitely worth the money since it’s not $50 less and possibly might go down even more.

Really like this speaker, even at the price ($349). Lot of depth to the sound, easy controls and connects to any mobile device with ease. There is an app that add some functionality but for simply connecting to your phone, you don’t need it. Battery is solid but if you forget to physically turn the speaker off when your done, it will definitely be dead next time you’re ready to use it. I guess this has less to do with the battery than the fact that it doesn’t auto-off when sitting idol for long periods of time.In all, very happy with this purchase.

This speaker is just amazing. I’ve had this for a few months now, and since it’s sitting next to me on my desk, I felt compelled to share a review. I previously owned the Bose Soundlink II (also awesome, but no Alexa of course) as well as a host of other less expensive portable speakers. – Sound Quality: As expected from Bose, the sound quality of this speaker is exceptional at any volume level. Friends are consistently amazed at the sound quality, especially considering the small footprint and portability. Crisp highs, deep but not overly boomy lows, and you have access to EQ settings in the Bose App, which also works well. – Portability: The carry handle is great and the charging dock is extremely convenient and sturdily constructed. I also purchased an awesome carrying case for under $20 which is incredibly nice – the Khanka Hard Travel Case Replacement for Bose Portable Home Bluetooth Speaker (Fits Charging Cradle) – Battery life: I’ve experienced 8+ hours of constant play time. Just remember to turn it all the way off before putting it in the case for travel, or it will likely be low or dead when you take it out. (Although this isn’t an issue if you have access to AC power and a USB-C cable)The voice control mics are also very sensitive as advertised, which is great. You can be listening to music LOUD in another room, and the speaker will still respond to Alexa commands.Another exceptional Bose product, and the Alexa integration makes it so convenient to use! 6 stars.
