I bought this replace an old HP DV9730 as my go-to laptop. These two are completely different in terms of processing power and capabilities, but I paid close to $1100 for the HP, and $279 for the HeroBook. Do not think you’ll be getting a world-class laptop. The Chuwi seems to solid, light and capable. I’ve added and additional 256G microSD card in the external slot to give this a full 512G of memory, though the specs say that the TF slot only can take up to 128G. The laptop recognizes the card and I can add/delete at will. It charges at a reasonable rate and has a good battery charge, capable of 8-10 hours of use. One thing I noticed and have seen on some of these reviews is that there is a perceived problem with the charging. It should be noted that the charge port on the left side is exactly the same size as the headphone port on the right, and you can plug the charger into the headphone port and think you should be charging it, so be advised. The body of the laptop is PLASTIC, contrary to some of the Q&A discussions above. The Chuwi has taken a major Windows 10 upgrade from Microsoft without problem (version 2004). A dxdiag inquiry in the “run” screen” shows 64-bit Windows, Intel Celeron N4000C CPU @ 1.1Ghz (2 CPUs), 8192MB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 600 graphics card w/4134MB display memory, Realtek audio speakers (sounds OK), Realtek microphone, Microsoft USB 2.0 camera. I’m running Firefox as my browser and Malwarebytes along with Microsoft Defender to keep the bad guys at bay. Mousepad is big and responsive. I’ve found that the lower right corner of the pad is for right-clicking. Keyboard layout is good and is NOT backlit.I didnt find that the laptop ran particularly hot but haven’t really put it through its paces, but it’s not a gaming laptop for sure. I usually have it placed on a flat surface, and it does fine and doesn’t overheat. Display is good and clear. For the money, its a good laptop and an additional 256G of memory makes this a light-weight full Windows-supported travel companion with WiFi and bluetooth support. Ive seen the price go up a few times, so get it while its under $300.

I purchased this laptop for my daughter’s home schooling. She is seven and I didn’t want to spend a lot if she broke it but something good enough for online schooling. Keep in mind this is not an i3, i5, i7, or i9 processor but it comes with 8GB of RAM and an SSD hard drive. I didn’t have issues with the wifi connecting out the box after a little trouble shooting I reset my router and have had zero issues connecting since then. This will make a great laptop for basic use or a travel laptop for streaming services. I will say that the battery life is unbelievable far better then any of my other laptops in my home. Oh the touch pad can be annoying sometimes I recommend a mouse if you get tired of it, so far I haven’t been annoyed enough to buy one.

Like the thinness of the computer and it is more than enough for my 7 year old. I got it for him to get familiar with Microsoft office.

I took a risk buying this but it was a good buy indeed, it was fast, small to fit in a purse, and enough storage and expandable storage

This thing is a heck of a deal for what you get. 8G RAM, a decent sized SSD, IPS FHD screen. Yes, it’s made of plastic but it feels pretty good. It’s fanless. The screen is excellent. Running Ubuntu 18.04 with no problems (make sure you get the realtek audio driver from the current source). 5.4 kernel. They keyboard is fairly good after you get used to it. The touchpad is large and is very easy to use, no problems or jumpiness. The Celeron N4000 is a bit pokey but if you keep your overhead down, it’s very useable and the fanless aspect of it is really nice. I hope they make a few more models of these.

I was extremely impressed with how attentive the Support team was, when I contacted them with a question and an issue with my laptop. While this ended up not being the model that fit my lifestyle, they took my product feedback and replied diligently across days. They also managed to sell me up to the next-higher model, the LapBook Pro, which I have been absolutely thrilled with.A surprisingly impressive 1080P screen, a tiny form factor and solid metal construction make this a great carry-on laptop. The HeroBook Pro doesn’t have a lot of horsepower and that’s actually literally why I sought it out. I was looking for low-watt Intel thin’n’lights that have power-sipping CPU’s and not a giant charging brick for a tiny travel bag, without forfeiting screen resolution. The $250 price tag make Chuwi’s lineup attractive, and the qualtiy metal construction made it a good value, I feel.I would suggest, if you can, looking at the next-up model (the LapBook Pro) for juuuuuust the right amount of power for on-the-go, even for streaming intense 3D games from Steam Link or GeForce Now.But, if you just want to watch downloaded videos or catch up on email, the HeroBook Pro will accomplish all the fundamental tasks. Its 8GB RAM is enough to happily run Win10. It screen is better than the cheap 768p panels on MOST budget devices. And it isn’t limited to ChromeOS despite being half the price of many/most prominent branded Chromebooks.

We purchased this hoping for an economical powerhouse. And we definitely believe we got what we paid for. This little guy is fast…fast all around. I could not be more pleased with this purchase. It does not have a ROM drive, but honestly they aren’t really necessary unless you want to burn a disk or watch a DVD. Other than that, this is an excellent machine for the money.

My new laptop arrived this morning and honestly, for the price, I wasn’t expecting to be impressed. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I had it set up and all the updates installed in about an hour. I also purchased an external dvd drive so i could install the applications I normally use and everything just works perfectly. I saw some comments about it being slow, but that hasn’t been my experience. Start up and opening applications are quick and easy.I was also impressed by the packaging. It was securely packaged with plenty of cushioning to keep it safe. Documentation was included as well as business card with support and contact information.**UPDATE**My original review I gave it 4 stars because I didn’t think it came with a recovery partition….I was wrong and should have been more thorough in my inspection. The recovery partition there. It’s just hidden. Changed my rating to 5 stars. For the money, this is an awesome little computer.Love it!

Customer service responses quickly! Super light weight and does everything I need. I have it running most of the day as my classes are online and it definitely doesn’t heat up or slow down at all. I just wish it came with a light on the keyboard for when I use it at night. Overall a great laptop!! Also absolutely loved how it came packaged!!
