Love this computer

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This laptop is AMAZING for the price. The storage alone makes it worth the cost. But the customizable colors and battery life for a gaming laptop are top notch. This is a must have. If you’re looking at the Strix, go for this one. The storage won’t let you down.

Woww incredible this operates my x plane 11 at 114 fps !!! Everything set at max settings. It falls at 40 the lowest during certain locations but overall I’m pleased 👍😌

So far so good, This machine is a beast, great size, great features. Battery lasts as long as you would expect for a gaming machine. The keychain thing is not that useful to me. Overall I am very pleased with the machine, we shall see how it lasts.

This is a beast when it comes to gaming, It came with 1g name m.2 It has two more slots ordered so I ordered 2 more 1g name m.2s. the only thing I don’t like about this gami g laptop is the screen, it is remnant of laptop screens from 10 yes ago, not bright or shiny, my cell phones and tablets have better screens. Over all it is perfect for gaming.

This is an amazing laptop. I use a lot of intensive programs such as Blender, AutoCAD, MATLAB, & ChemDraw. It powers through it so beautifully. I game on it as well & it’s *fast*. All around nice computer for work & for play. I like the lighting (Aura) aspect as well, it’s just a really fun aspect of the laptop. Due to my intensive use, I get around 2 hours on battery, especially when doing statistical analysis & models on MATLAB. Love it. When using normal non intensive programs, it’s 3 hours for me. No webcam though, so that isthe only minor downside.

Pros: awesome fast, crisp picture, no glare, really like the case. Lots of places to hold it 1 handed. This is more for business than play and will do what I need nicely. On a stupid note, I honestly thought all windows 10 machines were touchscreen.Doh! It’s a convenience I’ll miss but I’ll miss no number pad more.Cons: I’ll have to get back to you on that. So far none.

08/28/2021 – So all the stuff below happened, and things were good – for a few months. But now the system is showing the same symptoms as before – Glacial boot times (5-10 minutes), LONG lags between launch and the program starting (up to 2 mins), unexpected pauses, and very slow copies. As I’m writing this, I’m copying some files from one folder to another ON THE SAME DRIVE, and while it starts out great, showing about 800 MB/s, it only did that for a few gigs, and now we’re down at about 20 MB/s – which is abysmal speed for an SSD in any situation. I’m doing this to see if “the fuller the drive, the longer the lags), and it seems to be the case. The problems appear to start when the drive is about 1/3 full.Since this drive is the same make/model as the one replaced, it would be logical to assume that Adata Swordfish drives just suck. But it’s also possible that there’s something in the architecture of the machine that causes them to do this over time. Unfortunately, I can’t say if it was Asus or CUK who put it in. It’s the primary drive (C:). The second drive reports itself as “BMSCNRB1002F5P”, which I can’t find anywhere, so I’ll have to crack the case again to see who makes it. Since it appears to function well, I see no point. The Swordfish replaced another Swordfish (below), so I’m currently thinking I’ll replace it with another brand and see what happens. I figure that if I ask for another warrantee replacement, I’ll just get another of the same model drive again, so I’m not going to do that.On a side note, the light bar on the device is completely unwanted, and is a constant pain in the butt when I have to open and work on the machine, so I’m planning on just disconnecting it. If you end up cracking the case, be VERY CAREFUL because if you just lift the case, you’ll likely yank the cables connecting that piece to the motherboard. I consider this a HORRIBLE design “feature”. The flashy lights do nothing for me, and make opening the thing to work on it a real pain in the butt.06/12/2021 – This machine is great, but the CUK enhancements make it incredible. When I first got it and set it up, it seemed “okay”, and then it started having issues. Eventually I gave up and contacted CUK Customer Support. Derek wrote me back, asking for several screen shots, which I supplied. He told me the primary hard drive needed to be replaced, and gave me the option to do it myself or send the unit in. I put it in myself and the PC has been operating very smooth and fast ever since. Extra kudos for Derek (the tech I corresponded with) for not treating me like a brainless noob like most customer service reps do (I’ve been working on and with computers since the early 90’s, so… not exactly a noob). He treated me with courtesy and respect, and helped me get it fixed fast.As far as the unit is concerned, it’s exactly as advertised. Very fast, very big. Unlike my last Strix laptop, this one doesn’t overheat and shut down. I’m not a fan of ports in the back but that’s a very minor complaint. I cannot comment on battery life, as I only use batteries when the power goes out. 🙂 But I do like that it recognized it’s plugged in almost always, and prompted me to change the battery plan to extend the lifetime of the battery.
