Setup was easy, though it was hard to get the crimp connectors over some of the joystick leads. The wires are very short so plan your layout carefully. After all was connected I plugged in to a windows 8 computer which instantly recognized it as a generic usb Gamepad.I’ve finally built a proper case for these and am very happy with how everything works the buttons are responsive and the joystick works well. I’ve used this on my PC as well as a RaspberryPi 2 running Jessie. Both environments just work, no special software needed or anything like that.One last positive note: the USB cord is a decent length (~6ft.).

Okay this is too cool. I’ve got some extra cables left over, I don’t know what it’s for. Maybe these are two separate products in one, and there’s more cables in the cable product than there are buttons in the button product. It slowed me down a little with confusion but I went ahead and connected what I thought was right.Surprisingly got it right on the first go. I usually mess up the wiring at least once on a project.Loaded up retropie, it detected it and was able to get it configured.It’s much clickier than I’d imagine, but I don’t think this detracts.It works, it’s cheap, and it’s super cool to play old school games with arcade controls.

Use these as part of a raspberry pi project to build a retro gaming table. Works great and didn’t have to spend hours doing configurations due to usb connection. I actually ordered 2 sets of these as you can see in my pictures I took when I installed the buttons. These also came with some extra connectors which was great because I sliced through a set with my box cutter when making an access port on the bottom. Connectors are crimped for the best possible connection also. As far as feel these tap great with a true arcade feel to them though they are a tab bit clicky. Since this 1st table was a success I plan on doing a couple more per requests from friends and my kids. Highly recommended for any amateur arcade projects especially if using raspberry pi.FYI: I used a 30mm forstner bit to drill the button holes and they were PERFECT…..didnt even need any glue to stabilize them.

Used for a raspberry pi retro game box. Works great. Watch a youtube video for swapping out the 4 way gate insert for the 8 way insert (included).

Used to build Raspberry Pi3 arcade stick. Works perfectly! Every bit as good as SANWA. I would highly recommend this product to anyone making an arcade stick. I was able to get the bulk price down to $15 per unit/ shipped by ordering from China on EBAY but for fast US stock (or if you only need one) this is what you need.

Great kit to start up with. Not as pricy as name brands so if you break something then its cheap to replace. Just wish they showed other color options without having to go through them for shipping instead of Amazon
