The laptop is amazing. Good build quality, good specs, long battery life, and very reasonable pricing (got it over Thanksgiving and only paid $1800 for a 9th-gen i7, 2060, and 4k OLED screen). The only down side of this laptop is its beautiful OLED screen. The AMOLED panel used on this laptop is only expected to work normally for three years by Samsung, and after that, it will suffer from OLED degradation and burn-in, which sucks considering it cost almost $2000. However, the people at Gigabyte heard their customers’ concerns, and extended the warranty of the screen by one more year, making it a total of three years, which is the expected life time of the panel! During these three years, if you think your screen suffers any problems, Gigabyte will replace your screen, which sold it for me. I was going to return this laptop for the classic version, so my screen will last longer, but when I heard this news, I gladly kept my beautiful OLED screen.

While I’ve had poor luck with Gigabyte motherboards over the past 5-10 years, I was a bit apprehensive about this purchase, having been shopping for 15″ thin and powerful laptop for my grand daughter who is college bound. Nothing out there seemed to have the power, as well as the feature set I was really looking for. Well, color me very Impressed! This machine is very well constructed, light, and equipped with Intel’s latest 9th gen, hexacore processor, as well as the RTX 2060, 512GB NVME drive, and 16GB of dual channel memory, with a second NVME slot in a very easy to upgrade configuration: no “upside down” motherboard designs here! PLUS, it has Thunderbolt 3 port, RJ-45 port should you opt for a wired connection, SD Card Reader, and all of the usual ports available: USB3.1, HDMI. So its loaded with the options one could take advantage of. Oh, havent mentioned the 15″ OLED screen! Stunning! Color acccurate, perfect for content creators who require color accuracy. And, games look very good as well. You can always go from 4K, to 1920×1080 for your games and get potentially higher frame rates, and although this display is locked at 60hz, having the game have a potential frame rate at well over that, only improves the view at 60 hz. In short, this laptop gives you a lot of value for your money, and is one of the only 15″, thin and light laptops that has the array of options and ports that are actually useful, and that should come on a laptop in its price range. Oh, and the 9th Gen Intel proc is a definite improvement over its 8th Gen cousin. Now, if you’re a serious gamer, you might choose the 240hz panel, and possible a higher RTX option…just be aware, that while there may be some thermal throttling, its nothing that you cannot handle via undervolting and/or using a cooling pad if you find it cramps your style that much. Didnt bother me or any of the exhaustive tests an ran this laptop through. Its very powerful, and any time you stuff a hexacore processor into a thin and light ( emphasizing this again!), heat may become an issue, however it never stopped me from having fun with many of the AAA games I play, not cramped my style doing some Premiere rendering and editing…..and FAST! All at well under 5#. Definitely worth your consideration, especially with that gorgeous 15″ OLED screen: same one that all the other laptop makers are using in their OLED offerings. Picked up the additional warranty as well…for the price it’s well worth the coverage. And while no one can estimate the longevity of this new offering from Gigabyte/Aero, if first impressions mean anything, our grand daughter will find this a valuable tool in her educational journey for years to come….Well done, Gigabyte!

Overall very happy with this PC. It felt sluggish at first and had a few quirks. But a fresh install of widows to remove the bloat ware helped tremendously!! This thing is fast and responsive after the fresh install. Just google it. It’s pretty simple and it’s all done with a flash drive. It’s a good thing to do with any new computer in my opinion. The 4K screen in amazing!! It’s super crisp and refreshing to view. Definitely a great addition to this laptop. It has every port you will need which is hard to come by these days with laptops. Even a thunderbolt port!I am using this as a creator, meaning photoshop and video editing and it runs those intense programs with ease.

Most R&D seems to be going into laptops like this one these days. That’s why you can only find OLED screens in laptops. If you want an OLED screen, you have no choice but to get a laptop. This one is excellent at 286 ppi, it’s the best ppi you can get anywhere. The screen is razor thin. The laptop has solid build quality and a good backlit keyboard. It’s four pounds and at that weight, not meant to sit on your lap. Plus the processor gets up to 92 degrees Celsius and stays there during any type of games/stress. Undervolting doesn’t help. It’s so hot you could burn yourself. Keep it on a desk. The CPU and GPU 1660 ti are surprisingly good and can power games at 1440p and 144 hz no problem. All Intel components. The camera has a physical shutter. I found an adapter for my 5K monitor to work at 5K resolution via the USB-C Alt-mode displayport 1.4 port, awesome!! The wifi is equivalent to the wired Ethernet port speed. Watch out for the AI, while it seems good, it is really creepy how it changes fan settings. It changed my autohide the taskbar setting back to normal – that was weird. This is the best laptop I’ve ever owned, better than any desktop even, all things considered.

The screen on this laptop is amazing. I really wanted a laptop with an oled screen and an AMD 4000 cpu but they unfortunately do not exist. The hinges are a bit weak so if you’re an on the go person you may not like how weak the hinges are. Do not get the 4K model if you are primarily getting it for gaming. The panel only gets to 60 hz and paired with the 1660 mobile gpu you won’t even come close to 60 FPS in most games. I stream games to this laptop from my desktop so the gpu performance was not an issue for me. When I do ramp up usage the laptop is not quiet and fairly noticeable but ambient noise will easily drown it out. I noticed camera quality was a category and you should not get this laptop for video calls or streaming video. The camera is unusable in its location on the keyboard. As for battery life it is not great especially the oled panel but that is not as issue for me as I always keep it plugged in under heavy workloads. Internet browsing for me averages about 4-5 hours which is great for me but if you use it for work, it wouldn’t get you through 1 full day. I use this for a couch laptop that allows me to get away from my desktop so it fits my usage perfectly. I got this laptop for extremely cheap and i would have never bought it anywhere near MSRP.

I was nervous about making this purchase. I didn’t think the 1660 Ti would be enough for the games I play. I thought the battery life would suffer with the 4K OLED display. I wasn’t sure about Gigabyte’s build quality, especially considering this is not a cheap investment. Luckily, I was wrong on all fronts.I use this laptop in 3 different environments almost daily. I work remote as a programmer, play a half hour to an hour of games a day, and watch Netflix on it before bed. It is amazing at all 3. The keyboard does take some time to get used to as it is not centered. But once I did, I loved having the number pad on a laptop! The fans are audible but on the ‘Normal’ setting, they could barely be heard. The laptop stays cool even when gaming, something my last laptop couldn’t say.I only play Forza 7 and NBA 2K20 on it but it plays them perfect at 1080p. The FPS counter is a steady 60 the entire time. The 1660 Ti and the 9750H are a great combination for 1080p gaming. I am now happy it doesn’t have a RTX card because RTX cards on a laptop don’t really offer ray tracing yet, and the battery life would have taken a hit. I average 6-7 hours off the charger when working or watching Netflix and about 3 when gaming. I am coming from an Alienware R3 15 which had atrocious battery life. All in all, this is the perfect laptop for me and I couldn’t be happier.

Pros-Oled display is gorgeous with absolutely no defects.1660Ti runs all my games externally at 1440p flawlessly (Witcher 3 with “Hairworks” off and Sekiro stable at 60fps on Ultra)1660Ti is compatible with Nvidia Studio, so my engineering software renders models as if using professional GPU5+ hours of realistic battery life on a gaming laptop with 4k displayBuild Quality is excellent. No flex picking the notebook up from the corner with the lid open.Installing second M.2 2280 SSD and RAM upgrade was a 10 minute job tops.Cons-Fans are very loud while gaming or working. If you want thin, powerful, and stable, then you’re going to have to live with loud.Had to undervolt the CPU with Intel XTU software to prevent thermal throttling.Had to undervolt/overclock the GPU in order to maintain stable temps (65-70C) while gaming.Notebookcheck rates the FHD version of this laptop for 90 minutes longer battery life on their realistic usage benchmark.1660Ti not powerful enough to run AAA games in 4k native resolution.

I was struggling to find a “classy” gaming laptop that did not look like some 12 year old’s toy spaceship, and then came along this Deal of the Day. Now thinking about it, I have literally wasted more money on microtransactions in video games (that 12 year olds play), than I paid for this beautiful and rugged notebook. The construction feels like metal (nice and cool to the touch) and the lighting on the back is also cool. Like the overall design, it is not too flashy but it does stand out from other pleb laptops. I always set my laptops to do nothing when I close the lid, and this also means that you can walk around with the backlight on when the laptop is closed. I think that I might have seen some complaints about the audio, but it sounds great to me. The keys and touchpad are awesome. Low travel on both, and a very convenient fingerprint reader included on the touchpad. I didn’t realize how much I would use it. People complain about the webcam, but I like the fact that it has a slide blocker. The positioning seems fine to me also. The real star is the display/graphics here. Compared to all of my other displays, this one stands out clearly because it is so vibrant, details, and easy on the eyes. I have horrible vision so this is a big deal for me. The screen isn’t quite matte, but it also is not very reflective so glare is not an issue unless you are outdoors in the sun, maybe. You can easily set the color/brightness of the keys with the included software. My only complaint is the bundled AI widget software. It is not clear what it does, and after researching it I don’t think that I want to use it because it regularly reports data from your computer. I removed it and the laptop is running fine, although maybe a bit louder/more fan activity. It is supposed to learn your habits and maximize performance somehow, but I don’t buy it.

Can’t say enough about this laptop. I’m running the Aero 15 with RTX 2060, i7 9750, and OLED screen. The screen is about as crisp as you can get and the hardware works great together. After I bought the laptop I read a few negative reviews that got me worried. Some of them spoke about the fans being loud. Yes the fans will ramp up while gaming but it’s not a bad thing if you want cool hardware. I’ve heard no “coil whining” and had no issues with the WiFi. If you have issues with this computer it can most likely be fixed by tweaking the firmware and downloading drivers. If you are not at all tech savvy but still want to buy this computer because of the quality the first thing I would do is take it to a friend or someone that can find all the drivers for you and make all the adjustments needed to get this thing working to it’s potential, because once it’s optimized there’s no stopping it. Everything about this laptop screams “Cool”. From the way it runs, to the looks of the screen, the keyboard, and the logo on the back of the screen. The placement of the camera isn’t an issue if you don’t care about the views from your webcam, which I don’t. As far as gaming goes, I’ve run COD Black Ops Cold War (Multiplayer and Main Story) and No Mans Sky, both of which have worked great. May have to lower the video settings in the game itself to get the FPS up but it’s possible to run games at 70 FPS. Maybe my experience has been better than others but I would definitely recommend this laptop based on what I’ve experienced thus far. Will update the review if that at all changes. Hope this helps.
