10 reviews for Klipsch R-51PM Powered Bluetooth Speaker

Probably they only review I ever wrote for a product.Sound quality is great. Easy setup, the remote control works in pretty much all angles. You can easily switch between inputs.

I bought the Klipsch-41pm speakers at first and listened to them for a few days.. i felt like they were lacking in the lower end area. I ended up returning them and getting these bad boys.. I am glad i decided to keep these over its smaller counterpart.. these have more lower end and blend better with the klipsch powered 10″ sub. I also managed to get the Klipsch R-51pm when they were on sale and paid the same price as i wouldve for the Klipsch R -41pm. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone.. they sound great and look sexy with the covers off.

*Update* optical input usage: Connected to HD Samsung TV: go into audio settings and turn off Dolby. Apparently the Dolby setting doesn’t play nice with an optical connection. For my experience, there was no audio from the source but there was extreme distortion. After shutting off Dolby, the problem was solved. The power of the sound created by these compact monitors is utterly impressive! Aside from the sound, the versatility of connection is incredibly convenient. I didn’t even open the manual and was very pleased with the fact that all I needed to do was plug this in and put the batteries in the remote and power it up. I pressed a button on the remote and went into my phone Bluetooth settings and searched for new device. It connected immediately. The subwoofer output is invaluable. Using an RCA connector cable, I ran from the back of the Klipsch bookshelf speaker to my powered subwoofer. This feature alone sold me on this model of speaker. Once you have this set of speakers, you really don’t need anything else!

I have no complaints at all about not hearing dialog on tv from any program or channel anymore even on a very low volume. These speakers are so very crystal clear sounding, they’re excellent in that regard. You do get some low sounding frequency and I thought that would be enough for me since I’m not a hip hopper or rapper but if you pair these with a Klipsch R-100SW 10″ subwoofer the overall sound is outrageously excellent! I’m not a “basshead” as they say, I like proportionate sound from highs to lows and with this combo set up you will at a low volume hear the low bass as well as the highs, beautiful sound even from dialog! It was pricey for me but I just bought another subwoofer and R-51PM’s for my bedroom also where I have a projector and tv. The perfect setting in my opinion for these R51-PM stereo speakers with the Klipsch R-100SW 10″ subwoofer is:Low Pass/Hz: 80HZGain/Volume: One notch past halfwayPhase: 0Connection: I connected with the LFE white connector on the back of the subwoofer, 15 foot long cable.On/Auto/Off: I left mine on auto (midpoint of the switch) to turn on when a low frequency signal is detected and it auto turns off when no signal detected after 15-20 minutes.I hope this helps someone and these powered stereo speakers along with the subwoofer are VERY worth the money! Before these I bought another much cheaper set of speakers of a different brand name and there is no comparison, the overall build and sound quality lies with the Klipsch!

These are great speakers! Coupled with the Klipsch R-100SW subwoofer, they have all of the range you could want. Every song I’ve listened to so far has sounded clear. You can hear all of the highs and feel all of the lows. The volume control is great, the remote is simple to use, and everything connected together easily. A few things to note though. First of all, neither the speakers nor the subwoofer came with a cable to connect the sub to the main speakers, so be sure to buy your own. Secondly, the bluetooth connected fine the first time I powered up the speakers, but when I disconnected my phone before shutting off the speakers, then tried to connect another device, it wouldn’t connect to anything. I had to completely reset the speakers which took me an hour of searching to find out how, before I could get the bluetooth to work again. For anyone having trouble, you have to unplug the speakers, press the volume button in (Source Select) and hold it. While holding the volume knob in, you plug the speakers back in, then release the volume knob. That will reset your speakers and hopefully clear up any connectivity issues you might be having. To avoid this problem in the first place, I’ve been turning off the speakers before disconnecting my bluetooth device and so far, after using several different devices, I haven’t had that problem again. Lastly, these are Powered Speakers, meaning you don’t have to have a receiver to make them work. They plug in to an outlet and you plug your components (i.e. CD player, Phono, tape player, T.V. etc…) directly into the speakers and they work. That also means though, that you are only going to get the speakers. If you want to listen to the radio, you will need a source other than the speakers to get the stations. If you’re only looking for something to play music through, though, these speakers are wonderful.

Surprising detail and bass response are the highlights to these little guys. I bought them to use for music in our great room and when in my office as well. Too easy to connect via Bluetooth for me or anyone in the family. Totally shocked on how good they sound. This is no average 5.25 bookshelf speaker. The amplification and tuning in these bad boyz make them sound like their is a hidden subwoofer in the room! Pleasantly surprised…. will update the review if I experience any issues at all…

Buy these NOW! The sound quality is amazing at any level. You can blast these or turn down low and you still get a fulfilling sound from the dynamic bass EQ. I honestly don’t think you would have to have a sub with these but I bought one because I am a basshead. Bluetooth and optical work very well and setup and use are very simple. If your using for Netflix make sure to set your optical output to pcm or the speakers won’t work. Plays rap- metal amazing. Seriously buy these if you don’t have a receiver but want high quality sound . It’s almost too loud at times!*Update* 1/3/19These speakers still ROCK. These speakers normally are set to optical from my tv so no matter what plays through my tv ( Games,Netflix,Pandora) it works. Like I said before on your tv settings change to audio output to pcm that way netflix can play through the speakers. If not you will get an ugly sound from them and they will never work. If I want to hook my phone up to the speakers through bluetooth I can within a matter of seconds. I love the sound of these speakers so much and they look amazing as well. I feel that most women don’t want to look at speakers but men do. If I go to my kitchen which is 2 rooms away I just turn one of my speakers that way and you can still hear things crystal clear. PS you wouldn’t need to turn the speaker in my situation but I like to get the most out of my system. As you can see I have 2 klipsch R-120SW subwoofers hooked up to these speakers. You can’t go wrong with the R-51PM. Later on if my wife will let me I want to buy a optical splitter and buy a second set of these speakers to put on the opposite side of my room to get that surround sound and then I won’t have to turn these speakers up as loud. But when my wife leaves we both know I will crank all 4. My music ranges from rap to metal. Only reason I care for rap is the bass. If i didn’t have my subs I wouldn’t play it. The drivers on these speakers really hit well with the fast double bass in metal Songs. That is all for now.

Did research and bought these (sub too) for my dad’s new garage. He wanted bluetooth connectivity, but is also a audiophile. He was excited to see these came with a pre-amp built in, but we both were skeptical about the power/quality that the speakers would produce being enough and good quality. Holy crap. These sound absolutely amazing (with the sub). Dad went to bed about midnight and I stayed up listening VERY LOUDLY to youtube concerts and was just insanely blown away by the quality. I cranked the volume, took the speaker covers off, and was so surprised at how well the speakers held up to my abuse at loud volumes. You can just tell that the quality is top notch for these. With the subwoofer, the total was around $600. I have not heard anything with this good of quality for that price range. Youve been wanting these for a while, just pull the trigger and buy them! Maybe warn the neighbors, too. Just utterly blown away at the quality initially.

I use every available function on these monitors except USB, and love the sound from each format! I paired them with the 10” Klipsch sub as a fellow purchaser (and Klipsch) recommended and couldn’t be happier! I did have an issue with the optical cable which turned out to be a failure to open the instruction manual (I just had to go into the t.v. Audio section and select the proper option). I had the R-41 PMs before and asked for these as a Fathers Day upgrade, looking for the added volume. IMO, the difference was negligible. Don’t get me wrong—they crank, but the 41s weren’t that far behind! I’m very happy with them, and now I have two sets of excellent, multi-function PMs but I wouldn’t recommend replacing or upgrading your 41s if you’re thinking about it. Recommendation: listen to Kenny Loggins’ (not-just-for-Christmas) “Celebrate Me Home” at low to mid-volume. Great piano and vocals to highlight where these babies shine! Happy listening!

Just recently got into vinyl and I knew I needed a hifi system so I did a ton research to find the speakers that would fit my budget and give me the greatest value for the money. At first I thought I wanted Audio Engine A2+, but those look like little computer speakers so then I though I would get the Audio Engine A5+. As I did my research on these I found comparable speakers, the Kanto Yu6, and then finally the Klipsch R-51pm. These speakers just seemed to fit what I need in terms of flexibility, versatility, and quality. I also watched plenty of reviews on Youtube and became convinced that the sound of these speakers is what I would enjoy the most. Then I read the 1 star reviews on Amazon and I began to waver – not enough bass, humming from the speakers, usb connectivity, bluetooth connectivity, build material, etc being subpar. – I just got my speakers yesterday so I won’t be able to speak to the durability but all the issues that were brought up I did not encounter.Dynamic Bass scares my dog when I listen to James Blake so we’re good there. My computer automatically downloaded the drivers to listen through USB. My phone had no issue finding the speakers. The phone and line switch work perfectly. The Speakers are hefty and to my eye they are quality made. The speakers do hum – please note that this hum is only detectable if you put you ear right up to the speaker – you would only be able to hear this hum from a listening position if you lived a secluded monastery in the Himalayas where everyone there took a vow of silence – otherwise it’s not perceivable. There are better and bigger speakers, but for this price I am more than satisfied – listening to my favorite live albums brings an atmosphere and puts a smile on my face. I went to bed smiling last night, and I woke up this morning wanting to listen to them again. I just hope I don’t get addicted to this audiophile hifi stuff…
