10 reviews for Kodak PIXPRO Friendly Zoom FZ43-RD 16MP Digital Camera with 4X Optical Zoom and 2.7″ LCD Screen (Red)

Bought this camera for a cruise. It took great pictures and I could carry it in my pocket without feeling it. With all the features, you can do anything you want.

  2. Ish Kabible

My old point & shoot conked out after many years of service. Using my phone without real camera features blows. I needed optical zoom & a low enough price point that if it broke, no big deal. Dug around until I found this one & I’m glad I did. Takes very good pictures for my purposes. They say this camera eats batteries but I haven’t had it long enough to tell. Anyway, the one I had before did too & it was not that big of a deal. I found a cheap case at a dollar store that had a place to store a spare set of batteries & that worked out fine. The movie mode is not all that good but none of these are on these little cameras. You want a good movie, use a real camcorder. The zoom goes strangely in steps instead of a smooth transition, too.

Great camera! Uses standard alkaline AA batteries not lipo as described.

  4. SMB

This is the second one of these cameras I have bought and probably will continue buying until I want to upgrade. This is honestly such a great quality yet goodly priced camera. It has great HD for close up pictures, and takes very good landscape or big area photos, and it is small and easy to carry around, and very easy to use. Would recommend for people who want a good camera that will take great pictures but doesn’t want a big camera. 5 stars all the way.

  5. Robert Steven Thomas

Very nice little camera ,,, I say “little” but it does a very BIG job. The picture results are incredibly detailed and beautiful; plus it is so simple to use … even “I” could operate it with the simple instructions and its ease of operation. All of this at an outstanding price that will not crack your piggy bank. !!! It is fully automatic and will adjust to the lighting, presenting a ‘natural look without you needing to focus or adjust.

  6. KWills

For the price, this is a GREAT camera. The pictures are clear enough. And the video quality is certainly acceptable. The only real negative I can give it is battery life. It really LOVES to eat up batteries. I would recommend investing in rechargeable batteries for this. In the long run, it will prove cheaper. The camera is very easy to set up and use. It comes with instructions, but I found I didn’t need them. Everything is really easy to figure out.

  7. Gregory A. Parker

I use a camera every day for work. While my phone would serve the same function, the SD card and the fact that this uses aa batteries were my go to reasons for buying. I’ve actually bought three backups, as I do tend to break these on occasion. This is an inexpensive, easy interface digital that takes pictures of decent enough quality for the reports I write. I honestly hope to never have to stop using this brand.

Bought this for a construction site. Have 2 of them. They say in the office and when anyone needs to take pics, ready to go. We averge 600 photos a week, and the quality of the photos are awesome for what we use it for. When I review on the computer, the high MP makes it easy to zomm with minimal distortion. This camera as saved me thousands of dollars when I can prove my case for correct install and trade damage. Must have for a construction site. And did I mention the ability to just swap AA batteries. Even better, the price. The camera pays for itself on the first picturestep for me.

This is an awesome camera for the price. I’m not sure how they did it but better grab one before the trade embargoes begin. It takes beautiful point and shoot photos as good as a top of the line digital not so long ago. Lot’s of choices available for mode and options or just shoot auto and have great quality images to save. Even the video is pretty good and much better than I expected. The one drawback is it really as one reviewer said “eats batteries like the cookie monster eats cookies”. Grab some high capacity rechargeables and although those will die quicker than alkalines because of their initial lower voltage if you have a set of 4 or 6 or even 8 you’ll be good to go.

  10. Frequency Jones

Full disclosure: this is a fantastic little camera and it’s cheap. People setting their expectations too high are bound to be disappointed; to do so with this camera and expect it to be National Geographic quality shots are going to be disappointed. It’s easy to forget that sometimes we have to start somewhere. That we weren’t born natural artists or with a camera or paintbrush in hand. This is a fantastic little starter camera. Here’s a couple things about cameras. Megapixels don’t matter, zoom does. But when zoom doesn’t pan out (rimshot), megapixels matter. So with a high megapixel camera with poor zoom comes along, megapixels matter big time. It allows you to edit and crop without sacrificing photo quality. ISO means how much light gets in the lens, illuminating your subject. Higher the ISO, the more light and less need for a flashlight, torch, lantern, match, etc. This camera takes AA batteries and a full-sized SD card. Pick up a 4-pack of rechargeables and a Class 10 SD card and you are set to go. Take lots and lots of pictures. Get used to the idea of “no more film”. Go out there and make mistakes. Take lots of stupid pictures so when that perfect one comes along, you know what to do.
