10 reviews for Oculus Quest 2 — Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset — 128 GB

After reading so many FB comments *I barely go on FB* I convinced myself I would never be able to figure out how to get it to work when it arrives. Doom, Gloom and a lot of Zoom – if I couldn’t figure this out by myself I was out a lot of money! By the way, has anyone else notice the huge price comarison of the Quest? Anywhere from $299 – $699 for the same Oculus Quest 2? Anyway, jus sayin…Today – It finally arrived and boy was I terrified opening the box. I stared, should I send it back – can I do this… well, a long time later I did it, I tore the plastic and out came my Oculus Quest 2 with two cool controllers.Within 15 minutes I was hooked up to WiFi, FB and playing tennis. I got tired and did meditation for 10 minutes just floating in space. The realty is – its plain awesome! It looked so real that I found myself suddenly afraid of heights! Then it was time to charge the quest – which took around 2 hours.Yes, it was that easy!!! I love it! So, lesson to everyone – if I can do it all by MYSELF you can too – because you are awesome! Especially if you reading my review. Thanks!A quick note: You have the option to move the eye piece to make you vision clearer. The eye piece does not rotate. You must take your thumbs and slide right or left.

Headset 9/10My cousin had the first Oculus quest and when the second came out I wanted to get it. When I opened the shipping box the Oculus box was wrapped in bubble wrap which I liked and everything was clean and brand new. The shipping was crazy fast like 2 days. 1 day early. It came fully charged and ready to use. Took me a few minutes for the software update and the setup but after that everything was easy and simple. One thing I disliked was having to manually adjust the eyepieces and they don’t go as far as the Quest 1. Another thing is the base strap. If at all possible get a new head strap as the one it comes with has very little adjustments.Controllers 10/10The controllers feel amazing and they feel very immersive. Furthermore they are extremely comfortable and fit my hands well.Games 10/10There are many different games on the quest store with one for any play style. I personally downloaded Pavlov beta. If you are looking for a FREE immersive first person shooter (FPS) I recommend Pavlov. The guns look great and take actual skill to use. It’s not like call of duty when you press a button to reload but you actually have to learn the weapons and how to operate it. But enough about Pavlov. The app library is easy to navigate and simple. In conclusion I recommend getting this %100

There will always be VR “enthusiasts” with boatloads of money that brag about their bleeding-edge VR headsets (like the Valve Index, which is over 3 times more expensive than this headset, AND requires a gaming-quality PC to boot). But, in terms of value, there is absolutely nothing better on the market than this headset.Even the previous 64GB iteration (for the same price) was still great value, so this updated version (which also addresses the facial irritations caused by the old face pads) is a no brainer. If you have even a HINT of curiosity about getting into the VR world, this is THE headset to get! You won’t be disappointed!(Side Note: The “mandatory” Facebook integration, while a negative to some, is actually a good quality “appstore” interface, that’s quite easy to log into and use with your existing Facebook account. Any digital storefront in the world requires some sort of “account,” but letting me use my own Facebook actually simplifies the process even further.)

Honestly, the best thing about this sort of VR is that there’s no wires to deal with. Turn on, sign in with Facebook, and done. Also, Beat Saber is pretty much the greatest thing ever. Just…yeah… Beat Saber is life.I know there’s something to be said for ohnoes!, – Facebook has more data! Honestly, if they want to see me flail around in Beat Saber, knock yourself out, Facebook.I did pick up the Elite headband/battery/case, and that finishes off the package, but it’s by no means necessary – just nice to have. Overall, loving this thing. Yes, the resolution could still be (a lot) better, but for convenience and fun – this is where it’s at. We’ve come a long way from the PSVR days and the crazy setup process and cabling.Excellent stuff, – and great value in its new 128GB configuration. 4.5 out of 5.

Quest 1 decent this one better tho

This is my first and only VR experience. With that said, in just the first few minutes, during the setup and updating process, my mouth was agape. The tutorial had me smiling in wonder at the feeling of immersion. The apps available natively to the Quest 2 are varied and fun, if not cheap, but there are demos and free games out there. We like is so much, we are probably buying a second in the near future. However, my favorite piece of this requires use of a decent PC and fast Wi-Fi: Oculus AirLink, currently in Beta, is a cable free connection to the Oculus program on your computer that allows use of Oculus Rift and Steam VR games. These are generally games that need the extra processing power of a real GPU, and offer better graphics and more complex environments than the Quest alone can provide. Google Earth VR, a free app that isn’t on the Quest natively is, for me, worth the price of admission on its own. Being able to walk among the skyscrapers of NYC, or play Gojira in Tokyo is awe inspiring.A couple of minor cons: Battery life is poor. During our first days, when we were using it especially heavily, I had a battery pack and USB-C cable connected to the Quest that we’d swap into pockets to add play time. They make improved head-strap setups that include provisions for holding a battery.About that strap, some in my family complained about it, so we may be shopping for an upgrade. I can live with it, however. In low light, the guardian, the virtual barrier that is set to keep you from running into walls, can flake out, dropping you out of the game. And lastly, a big con for some folks: This requires an active, real, Facebook account. Deactivating your account deactivates your Quest. Deleting you account deletes, permanently, all of your purchased apps, with no refund. There are lots of reports regarding problems with folks using fake names, secondary accounts, other folk’s accounts, etc. When there are problems, Facebook will delete or lock accounts, and render your Quest a brick. Customer service is reportedly horrendous when trying to fix these problems. My advice would be to use your real account, don’t fudge around, and you should be fine. Yes, they are tracking you, Yes they are subsidizing the prices of these thing by commodifying your data. However, unless you are already complete social media hermit, getting in bed a little deeper isn’t going to alter your data footprint in any significant way. If you are here shopping on Amazon with a cellphone in your hand or pocket, worrying about Facebook is sort of pointless.TL;DR – GET ONE. It’s a great value within the reach of many people. You can have a ton of fun without a PC, and even more with one.

very good quality headset. Feels very comfortable to wear if you put back strap near your ocipital bone but sadly lot of people don’t know how to wear properly i mentioned. Great for watch netflix movie in monster IMAX theater screen and also tons of 3D VR 180 videos on Youtube. Games are so many to choose and more new game to come every week.

I have wanted one of these bad boys for a while. Finally they’re back in stock, so I bought one. So far I like it and can tell I’ll be using it a lot for games and… Other things. It came in simple minimalist corporate packaging like everything does these days, mostly paper (Yay Earth). It came undamaged, but I’m guessing whoever tested it slammed into a wall with wet paint because there’s a blue scratch on one of the corners.Pros:Relatively AffordableGreat TrackingCan go Mobile if you wantCons:-Headstrap Sucks-3 Lens Settings, Couldn’t get it quite right-Facebook now has a live 3D view of my disgusting room. It’s pretty much good enough if you’re like me and just want access to VR. I will update after further testing if anything important happens.

I mean what a good deal.
