This Protective Clean 4100, the lowest priced Sonicare model, $35 with coupon, gets teeth and mouth very clean, and my experience with Sonicare brushes is they are durable (4-6 years). However I would recommend replacing the small brush head that comes with it with the larger W3 brush head (without waiting for the small brush head to wear out). It cleans better. For its effectiveness at a significant bodily health category, i.e. dental health, this Sonicare brush is a huge bargain. My dentist told me I didn’t need one since I’d kept my teeth so clean already, but I bought one anyway, and found it incomparably better than a manual brush. But a caution–my experience with previous Sonicare brushes is that you periodically must clean the junction where the brush head snaps onto the brush body. The instruction manual says weekly to remove it and wipe with damp cloth, easy to do. For health reasons, do not let gunk build up at this spot. I agree with those who’ve said it’s unnecessary to buy the more expensive models (although I haven’t bought one), since this one is so effective at the basic purpose of cleaning (again, with the larger brush head). (Note, these statements are based on my use always with unwaxed floss). This brush is still new for me, and so I don’t know its durability, but based on my previous Sonicare models, I expect it to work fine for years.

I purchased this toothbrush after going to a new dentist and he found infection and rot in one of my teeth. He also did a scan of my teeth and noticed that they are extremely sensitive because i wasn’t brushing enough at the gum line. Therefore I purchased this toothbrush to be able to more thoroughly clean all of my teeth. I love that there is a trigger for when you brush too hard so it will stop brushing to let you know when you have done so. Also I love how long the battery life is. If going on a trip for a few days you wouldn’t even need the charger ( I only charge it on the weekends). Also it has a timer on how long to brush your teeth for which is really helpful. My only complaint is that the head is not flexible and is pointed straight so it makes some areas still hard to reach (like the back of my front teeth) without spraying spit and toothpaste out of my mouth.

I’ve been wanting to get a sonicare toothbrush for a long time now, I couldn’t pass up the discount. I bought the two colors they had for my husband and I.I had to go try it out as soon as it arrived. I am very impressed, my mouth feels dentist clean! The toothbrush comes with a little cover to shield the brush head from nasties.I’ll update if my husband doesn’t like his.Definitely make sure to register it on the Philips Sonicare website, it will get you an additional 6 months on top of the 2 year it comes with.

I’ve used Sonicare brushes for 10 years, and this one is the best of the lot for a budget price. You can pay 4 times as much and get the bells and whistles, but if your main aim is to clean your teeth, this brush does it well. It has a brisk action (which can be started out at a lower intensity for newcomers), a two minute timer with a quad pacer that beeps every 30 seconds, a “smart brush” detection system that alerts you when the brush head needs to be replaced, and an alert when you’re pressing too hard with the brush head. If you want your teeth clean and don’t need whitening mode, bluetooth, and a lot of other luxury features, this brush will do the job.NOTE: When you buy replacement brush heads (this unit comes with only one), buy Phillips brush heads. Do NOT purchase the economy ones. They are poor quality, wear our quickly, and can actually damage your teeth and/or gums. Always buy the Phillips brand.

I absolutely LOVE this Sonicare toothbrush. I just received it about 3-4 days ago, and I’ve never been happier while brushing my teeth. I have an extremely dry mouth due to rheumatoid arthritis, so I have a lot of staining on my teeth (even though I don’t drink coffee or other staining drinks). I’ve had a Sonicare toothbrush, the old Philips model for at least 15-plus years. But this ProtectiveClean model is so far superior! First of all, I love the more compact (yet not tiny) toothbrush head. I can maneuver it all over each tooth. It lets me know if im pressing it too hard against my teeth. It cleans by ultrasound, so you don’t have to massacre your mouth in order to clean your teeth. And it leaves my teeth squeaky clean. Already, after only 3-4 days, I can see a difference in the appearance of my teeth. The price is very reasonable. I keep it in its charger after brushing my teeth, so I don’t know how long the battery lasts. I totally HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS! It’s one of the best products I’ve purchased.

First time buying electric tooth brush! And I am absolutely in love!!! Super good for the price. Very powerful, it let you know when the 2 minute is up! Also, the brush felt gentle on my gum. Felt super clean after every brush! I had to buy another one for my husband because he also in love with it!

This was a good replacement of my previous, more complex brush. I didn’t need all those settings for daily brushings. I liked my old charging base, though, with two extra brush holding points. When more than one person used the same brush they help. I put the new brush on it. I think the base unit should be available separately.

My 5 years old Sonicare HX6911 suddenly stopped working. After some research I bought this 4100 model. My older, in theory higher end model really has a lot of features that I do not use. The only feature that I need is quadpacer — which means the sonicare will beep every 30 seconds so that you can brush four sections of teeth for a total of 2 minutes. Otherwise this model only has one speed and one cleaning mode. It does however have easy start, meaning for the first time it is turned on, it will gradually increase the vibration power over 14 use. It also has a pressure sensor so that it will vibrate if I put too much pressure on the head. Finally, if the correct type of brush head, it will light up an indicator light after the toothbrush head has been used for some time. I cannot find what exactly is the amount of time before the warning starts. This new model is slightly smaller and lighter. It also has a much simpler indicator lighting system. When you put the toothbrush back on it’s smaller stand, it will vibrate to tell you that it is seated and charging. The charging LED will only light up if it is charging. Whereas the older model is always lite when sitting on the stand.Overall I think the newer, simpler version is much nicer. Look at the photo to compare the old vs new.

It works pretty good. If you have a sonic care you know what they are like. They leave your teeth feeling smooth throughout the day. It’s awful when I have to use a regular toothbrush and my teeth are gritty. It is pretty basic but it gets the job done extremely well.It comes with the prepgrammed adjustment mode. Which is good for new sonic care users as it blasts your teeth pretty hard. However for experienced users it felt weak for a week. But once it got to full action I was happy.

I’ve always been a big fan of Sonicare toothbrushes, my dental cleanings went from you’ve got to do better to you’re doing a great job. My last Sonicare was an Elite model with all of the features, it’s demise came from a loose brush head shaft that wouldn’t stay tightened even after repair, that’s what also what killed the one before that so the verdict is out on how this one will hold up in that regard but they usually last a couple of years before giving out. I found that I never used any of the settings on the Elite except for basic clean with full power. In the past if you wanted a basic no-frills Sonicare with one button you have to forgo the slim handle design and lithium ion battery, two features I never wanted to get up so I would always spring for the more expensive model. Enter this Protectiveclean 4100 Sonicare, a basic one button, one speed no-frills machine that has all the features that I want and nothing that I don’t with the same slim handle and battery as the higher end models in this line. It even borrowed some of the features from the top of the Sonicare line like a brush head pressure sensor to remind you of proper brushing technique and a smart head brush replacement reminder that I hope doesn’t tell me to replace it before I want to but we’ll see (you can turn the feature off). The area around the metal brush head shaft (between the motor handle and brush head) has been flattened out and the little plastic cap that used to sit on the bottom of the shaft is gone making the area easier to clean, if you have a Sonicare you’ll know what I mean. The sonic action of this toothbrush seems more refined than my old Elite model but perhaps that’s due to wear and tear on the old one, anyway this brush works quite well and I’m happy.
