I have been trying to use remotes from a couple of companies. Both the “other” remotes were designed around PC’s. This remote is truly a great device for any Apple user. It might be fine on a PC as well but I only use Apple computers and it is a godsend for my programs. My only small complaint is the buttons are a little too close together but a small nuisance only the first time I used it. Highly recommended.

‘Performed flawlessly as a laser pointer and slide advance remote control, exactly as promoted in the AMAZON.COM online description. Also, the owner-inventor of RED STAR TEC, Christian, was very helpful to me in his “outreach” concerning a question that I had about the evice. The .pdf instruction manual provided, separately, by e-mail attachment, was far more helpful (and well written, too) than is usually provided by most vendors of similar devices. I plan on sending Christian some more detailed feedback about the event where his device was first used….but it was really one of the best purchases of this type that I have made in recent years (I may, in fact, purchase another unit of the same product to have ‘in reserve’. AMAOZON.COM delivery service was ‘first rate’, as usual ! KUDOS to all.

I have used the same remote presenter by another vendor, but the USB receiver didn’t last after six months of use. However, I use this remote for a teleprompter computer program, which is one of the few presenters that works nicely. I needed a four button remote presenter and this one works great for my intended use. I also use it for Powrpoint presentations and works great too. However, one slight engineering flaw in that a user can accidently select the adjacent button to reset the Powerpoint presentations. It is somewhat annoying if you’re not used to the other adjacent buttons. This vendor offers a FREE extra USB receiver, but was out of them. Hopefully, he will have them in stock soon.

I’ve had to get four Powerpoint remotes in the last nine months. The first one lasted a while, and then died. The second lasted about a month, and died. The third didn’t work right out of the box. I don’t want to jinx it, but this one seems good. I have been using it for about a month and so far, so good. It’s a good shape for my hand, the arrows to advance slides and to go back make sense (the arrows on other versions I’ve had seemed backwards). The only complaint I have is that the laser pointer doesn’t work on my Smartboard, but that’s not an issue with the remote as much as it is an issue with the Smartboard. So far, I like it!

This mighty little clicker meets all of my needs. It arrived in a black box and inside that was a soft case shaped like a bean, and inside that was the Red Star Tec remote. After putting in 2 batteries (not included), I was able to plug and play. There is no set up needed. Plug in the USB (conveniently stores in the remote) and slide to “on” position, it’s working. As a university lecturer, I can walk around the entire room and still easily use the remote without even aiming it at the kiosk. It has a red laser light to use as a pointer (or to wake up errant undergrads). The clicker also has a blackout button to blank the screen. And, of course, left and right buttons. This bean shaped clicker is lightweight and fits well in my hand.Done with your slideshow? Turn to off position, take USB from computer and slide into place, zip into the case.Pros: Where ya been all my life (or past decade of teaching)? I can’t believe I waited so long to purchase. Compared to the remotes I’ve used it’s light and can be used at a good distance from the computer. I got it using Prime, so it arrived in just 2 days.Cons: Must add batteries (no idea yet how often I’ll need to change. Trying to be good about turning it to “off” position). The soft case should be a hard case to protect the clicker inside a large tote. However. I’m just keeping it inside the case AND in the black box packaging which is working well so far.

All I can say is it does its job flawlessly. The USB plug-in loaded all by itself in both my Windows 10 computer and a ChromeBook dumb terminal. The device fits comfortably in the hand and the buttons operate smoothly. I’ve used it now for several days and the batteries are still good.As the instructions suggested, the up/down buttons work on both systems, but the Open/close feature works only on Windows. The laser pointer is nice, but of course does not appear on a modern flat screen digital display. It works fine on regular projector screens. The only improvement I could suggest is to make the on/off slider button a little easier to move – – maybe deeper ridges. If it could power itself down after an hour or so of no button pushes that might be nice, as long as it didn’t otherwise reduce battery life or cost. All in all, a perfect product at a good price.

I purchased the remote to use for a major presentation in my graduate school program. Most students simply stood near their laptops to run their presentations. Having a remote freed me from being tethered.1. Installation and set up. Couldn’t have been simpler. Remove the remote from the package. Insert batteries. Slide the USB connector away from the bottom of the remote. Insert into a free slot on the laptop. Drivers automatically install. My Windows 10 dell recognized the device within a few seconds and I was good to go.2. Ease of use. The remote feels good in the hand. Previous and next buttons are easily accessible with the thumb. My only criticism is that the on-off switch on the left side of the remote is small. I felt some anxiety about whether the unit was turned on before I started my presentation. Being visually impaired makes a clear tactile indication of functioning essential. I just made it part of my introduction and flashed the laser pointer on the ceiling. Got lots of class feedback for that.3. Customer service. Received an email shortly after purchase that appeared to come directly from the owner of Red Star Tech. He thanked me for the purchase and promised to make anything right if problems cropped up. That level of contact felt more personable than the usual order receipt. Fortunately nothing went awry.4. Works with other presentation tools. I use the html presentation framework called Revealjs. It works far better for me than fighting with Power Point. The remote worked as expected with that software. Previous and next buttons worked well , and slide blanking functioned as needed.5. Would I recommend? Yes. The combination of installation simplicity and ease of use let me focus on my words and not on the technology. A+!

I’m in love with my new PPT presenter! So easy to use as I am NOT a techie. Love the small size that fits perfectly in my hand. And the on/off switch is really nice. And I HAVE to have a presenter with a convenient place to store the USB plugin, or I’ll lose it. This presenter has the storage port on TOP so I notice immediately if I forgot to pull it from my laptop and put it back. And the little zippered storage bag–bonus! I use the presenter nearly every day in my classroom for PPTs AND just as a great laser pointer, and it’s perfect. Best presenter I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had quite a few!

I purchased this remote after reviewing the Logitech R400. I was surprised that this cost so much less than the Logitech and it had good reviews so I took a chance and bought it. After I made the order, I received a nice email from the company stating that they received my order with their order number and if there’s any problems at all to please contact them. The remote arrived one promised and in great condition. It’s just as they say on the website, you plug it into the computer and it just works no set up needed. I was able to advance my PowerPoint slides on my laptop without any problems at all. The laser also worked as described. I was very happy with the service provided and I will definitely purchase other items from them again as needed.

I do a lot of lecturing and often find that locations do not have one or they have one and the batteries are dead when you arrive. Problem solved with this product.Easy to use – plug and play use. I haven’t found any devices yet that it won’t work on – haven’t come across an Apple computer yet, so I cannot say if that application will work as well, but I can’t imagine it wouldn’t.Nice and bright pointer. Battery life so far has been very good. Construction seems to be very good – transmitter/receiver slides right into the base of the Clicker – just don’t forget it at the end of your lecture.Definitely recommend this product.
