I purchased the TV for my 94 year old grandmother. Her TV had just died. She lives in an assisted living facility and I live 1100 miles away. We wondered how the old TV would be removed and who would set up the new TV. She needed her TV because she had just fallen and was instructed to stay off her feet….. The TV was delivered on Christmas Eve, earlier than the promised date of the day after Christmas so she was elated. This get better…..She called me Dec. 24, the day after her birthday, over joyed because the guys that delivered her new Samsung UN24H4000 24-inch replacement, set it up for her, removed the dead TV, and in her voice cleaned up their mess. Amazon made my day and my 94 year old grandmother’s birthday and Christmas. I can’t say enough for service and thinking of others. I wish I could just grab those young men and give them a hug!!!!! This makes me a fan of Amazon and your delivery guys!!!!! They were such a blessing to my family for the spirit in which they did their jobs!!!!! Thanks you so much!!!!!

My folks used to set up a small TV on the back deck in the summertime. Since the switch to digital, they have been unable to do that. I looked into getting a converter, and then it occurred to me that I could probably get them a bigger TV that was actually lighter than their old one (which was not a flat screen – anyone else remember those? lol).I was a bit worried about this TV because it seemed to good to be true in terms of size, weight and resolution for the price, but I’ve had good luck with Samsung in the past so I took the plunge. When it arrived I went over to set it up for them, and it is the perfect set for them. I combined it with a Fire Stick so that they could watch Netflix out there without running cables from one end of the house to the other, and they couldn’t be happier. It is bigger and lighter (they carry it in and out of the house all of the time) than the one they had previously, and the resolution was also a number of steps up from what they were used to. The perfect TV for them. That being said, if I were to buy a TV for my brother, it would be something with more bells and whistles as he is VERY tech savvy and a bit of a sucker when it comes to peer pressure.

This arrived and was surprisingly light. It was well packed and in good condition. It took about 30 minutes to set up. You’ll need a Phillips head screwdriver to attach the base, unless you want to mount it on the wall. You get a power cord, a cord wrangler, and a remote with batteries (2 x AAA).There are input ports for cable or air antenna, audio, HDMI, HDMI-DVI, AV, coaxial and USB. Only the power cord comes with the tv so if you need HDMI cables or whatever, make sure you buy them too.You can connect an external speaker but the sound from the tv is decent. The loudest setting is pretty loud and with no distortion. The picture is very clear and it’s easy to adjust color, contrast, sharpness and brightness. There are a number of accessibility features. The instruction manuals are nearly complete, though they do not tell you how to attach the stand — I’m a complete novice here, people! — and they come wrapped in a roll that makes them annoying to use until you flatten them out. But otherwise I couldn’t be happier. This model is a little older so it comes at a good price. I chose it because it got very good ratings from Consumer Reports. The Samsung brand has the highest reliability ratings too.

My very first flat screen. Im happy with it. I don’t have cable so it only picks up digital channels automatically. So i have a converter box to get the rest of them. I dont have the dvd plug to it yet. Shhhhhhh! No judgement someone else will do it. The volume is not super loud but i feel its loud enough. So over all im happy with my purchase. Will order another.

The GOOD: This is my second Samsung TV purchase within the same year. It was delivered quickly and well-packed. Lightweight with easy base assembly. Works great…just plug and play. This standard 28″ TV is perfect in my office (and/or spare room) since I also own a Samsung blu-ray player which includes the popular variety of SMART entertainment websites, therefore not needing to pay the additional SMART TV price tag.The BAD: HDMI cable not included. The Source and Menu system on the remote isn’t very intuitive but not too difficult to figure out when adjusting and/or fine tuning your personal audio and visual settings when not following the instruction manual. The BEAUTIFUL: I was fortunate to have pulled the trigger when the purchase price was at its true lowest that didn’t include the hidden costs when checking out…(a notorious fact when purchasing electronic products). Feature for feature nothing compares to Samsung.

Biggest thing I was unsure about initially was to get a 24″ LG (for $40 less) or this same TV but refurbished (also for around $40 less). I’m def. okay w/ refurbished items but it depends on what *kind of item. When it comes to electronics, yes, you can always get a lemon (refurbished or not) but for a difference of just $40 (not $100) I personally think one should just go for brand new esp. when it’s TV like this or anything similar. This is for my bedroom. I just tossed an 8 year old 24″ Phillips TV which was on it’s 7th or 8th life (I think the tube was going). For an ‘older’ school TV it had a great, crisp picture so I def wasn’t unhappy with it. It did weigh a lot (again was one of the last older school, thicker, heavier cumbersome models). This is literally my first flat screen/ paper thin HD TV!Like I said, prior to buying, I went back/forth between the LG and this Samsung. IMO those brands are as good as it gets right now for TVs. I just wasn’t sure if the difference of 4″ was worth the few extra $. Before ordering, I went to a big retailer to see the difference in person. Although it wasn’t major, it was ‘enough’ of a difference to make me go for the 28″ and spend the extra $40. This size is more than perfect for a bedroom AND even a living room. The 24″ I think would only be a good for a bedroom. The extra 4″ in this case was noticeable enough. A 32″ vs 36″ prob. not as much. You most def. need to *adjust* some of the settings on the remote before using (esp. the sound and then the picture). Took me minimal time to figure out. It’s super user friendly and cake to operate. I’m in a condo where they give free basic cable (no HD) so I’d have to buy a new HD box and spend an extra $10+/month but the pic quality (while not ‘amazing’) is def. sufficient enough for my needs. Again, once you adjust some of the settings on the remote it’s close enough to HD I guess. I’m sure if I decide to get a HD cable box the pic would be outstanding. What is close to outstanding is the *sound! I see most of the other reviewers agree. Once you configure the sound settings on the remote (a must!), the sound is very dynamic and clear! Overall, took very little time to set up (just the stand took a few min.) Overall, this a very sleek, sophisticated, perfect size/ fit and almost weightless!

This LED TV replaced an LCD TV (also a Samsung) that served us well as a kitchen TV for 14 years. Nothing wrong with the old LCD model, but it was a 19-inch and we just wanted a bigger screen. This 28-inch Samsung was the biggest we could fit between the countertop and the bottom of the cabinets. It leaves just two inches to spare, but we configured it in a corner, so that’s not a problem. In fact, it actually helps that the TV fills the space so completely because it allows us to hide the stand-up mixer in the corner behind it when not in use.Four features were of paramount importance to us:1. Sound Output: We use it in a kitchen. And you know what that means — the exhaust fan above the stove, and the whoosh of water in the sink, the whir of various other kitchen appliances. The kitchen is by far the loudest room in the house. Consequently, we’ve found it necessary to place multiple speakers around the kitchen to avoid the need to blare the single TV speaker. We do this using the 3.5mm headphone jack and individually powered computer speakers. The benefit of doing it this way allows us to control the volume to all speakers at once using the TV remote. By the way, I want to be sure to mention that, when I was shopping for this TV, I noted that there are a lot of contradictions in multiple reviews about whether or not this TV has a headphone jack. I can say that the 28-inch model absolutely does have a headphone jack. It also has a digital-audio output, but there is no RCA sound output. REPEAT: Yes to the headphone jack, No on the RCA output. If RCA sound outputs are important to you, this is not your TV.2. Multiple HDMI inputs and a USB port: Yes to both. We use both Apple TV and a Roku stick with this TV. The USB port is necessary to power the Roku stick, which it does very well. BTW, these ports are located on the right side of the TV to make it easier to flat mount on a wall. We use a drop-down mount that connects to the bottom of the cabinets, so this is not an issue.3. Lightweight: Yes! This TV weighs less than 10 pounds. As I mentioned, we use a drop-down mount that connects to the bottom of the kitchen cabinets, so we didn’t want to put too much weight on it. At 10 pounds this TV is nearly half the weight of the older LCD model, which was a smaller 19-inch. Awesome.4. Picture Quality: The TV that we replaced with this one served us well all these years, but dark images (for example, nighttime scenes) were difficult to discern. Of course, we could adjust the brightness on the old LCD, but while that helped improve dark images, it blew out white balance on the light (e.g. daytime) images. This is no longer an issue with this LED TV. The LED picture quality is everything we wanted and more. We now get a vibrant, clear picture no matter whether the images being depicted are dark or light.Although we had no use for a TV stand, this television does come with one if that’s important to you. Also, the receiver is top notch. We use this in a major metropolitan area and connect it via coax to a digital antenna in the attic. The older TV would have difficulty now and then with some of the weaker-signaled channels (particularly cloudy days, for example, made it difficult to get the local CBS affiliate channel). But this LED TV hasn’t had that problem at all. Not once. I will be sure to come back and update this review if it ever does exhibit trouble in that regard, but so far it gets an A+ in that regard.I really can’t think of any downside. In my opinion, this TV is everything it purports to be. Of course, be sure that everything you expect is offered on this TV before purchasing it. If you want 1080 or 4K, for example, keep looking. This one is 720p.

I don’t have time to write a lot of reviews. When I do, it’s either because I’m really pleased or really peaved about a purchase. In this case, I just have to put my two cents in about this TV, and Samsung TVs in general.Picture QualityWe have several LCD / LEDs in the house, both Sonys and Samsungs (including this one – the UN28H4000). The picture quality of all of them is beyond amazing with sharp lines, vibrant colors and deep blacks. All are great for viewing everything from the news to football games. I’m not really a “gamer”, but they all seem to display the action from my Xbox nicely too.Sound QualityWhere Samsung separates itself is in the sound in these smaller TVs. With a big screen, you’re almost sure to want to combine it with some kind of separate sound system (surround, sound bar, etc.). But darn it, I didn’t want to HAVE to buy a separate sound system for a small TV that’s going in the kitchen. Samsung is the only brand I’ve found that comes with adequate speakers, which seem to be full-range as opposed to most others which emit treble and mids only. I wouldn’t say this Samsung sounds “great” (we do have both a Bose surround system and a Sonos sound bar in the house). But it has a nice full sound that’s certainly *better than* good enough for watching – and listening to – whatever show we’re interested in while having dinner or a midnight snack. All the other brands I’ve heard sound like overdriven headphones when turned up beyond a whisper, and that includes Sony, LG, Visio and Toshiba.True, this TV is not a “smart” TV. You won’t be streaming Netflix or your favorite TV from Amazon without a secondary device. But it doesn’t – as others have stated – claim to be a smart TV in this ad, and that’s not what I was after (however, in defense of those other reviewers, it does show up as a smart TV in a comparison table I found here on Amazon, and that is incorrect). So for what it is, I give it 5 stars!

sed the Samsung UN28H4000 28-Inch 720p 60Hz LED TV Samsung along with an articulated wall mount and paid for it to be installed. The installer recommended a 2-speaker addition if I wanted a better range of sound. I have since found that the tv indeed does need additional speakers if I want higher volume and range. The company he works for offers a 2-speaker est with installation for $99.99. I think that is a decent price to bring a better sound from this tv. Don’t get me wrong, this a fabulous tv and fits in the space in my entertainment center with gobs of room left over. I replaced an old SD tv am am really impressed with the quality of this tv. Itt accepted both the old RCA plugs and an HDMI cord so I can enjoy dvds and the old vcr tapes as well as the new HD tv. Unless you are a real tv officianado, this tv will filll a niche in your home.the installer

If you are shopping for a small, secondary TV set for your kitchen, bedroom or elsewhere, you’d be hard pressed to find a better small screen performer, or a better small-screen value, than the 24-inch Samsung UN28H4000. The color is terrific and the picture is sharp. There is good screen uniformity and a rock bottom price tag.The price on Amazon is $147.99. The Samsung UN24H4000 boasts of a standard 720 pixel resolution screen which allows you to view high definition media content including pictures, movies and short clips as per your preferences. The 720p resolution might be a turn off for some, but that’s still HD and absolutely appropriate for this set. Moreover, LED technology further helps to improve the quality of the images being shown to almost perfection. In a screen size this small, unless you are sitting exceptionally close, the difference between 720p and 1080p would be virtually indistinguishable. Also, the TV includes two HDMI inputs. The quality of sound is extremely important. Samsung does not disappoint despite the smaller size of the screen. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of sound which suggests the sound is a lot better than what one would expect from a smaller screen.I initially had problems adjusting the picture size. However, an Amazon review reader pointed out that this problem could be fixed. The screen space from top to bottom wasn’t wide enough. People’s heads were partially cut off, as was streaming news, etc. I called my cable provider and the customer service rep walked me through the easy steps to adjust the picture size. So readers’ comments can be quite valuable.I cannot recommend this TV enough! A best buy!JANA
