  1. Amazon Customer

This is the second 65 inch tv that I have purchased from Amazon since 2017 and both times I was very happy with the delivery process. This 65 inch Sony A8H OLED was delivered by one young man and he had no problem unloading it and carrying it into my house. He was very nice, called about 30 minutes before he showed up and allowed me to examine the outside of the box before he left. The exterior was in excellent condition and we didn’t open and assemble the tv until 2 days later. My wife and I watched the Youtube video explaining how to open the box, remove the tv and assemble the stands. I will stress that you should have 2 people during the removal and assembly, after all you are spending a chunk of change on this tv.Once we got it hooked up (ethernet connection to hi speed internet, HDMI ARC capable cords from tv to LG sound bar, and HDMI from tv to Blu Ray player) we fired it up. It was easy and quick but I did make one mistake. At first, I was a little bummed out because it didn’t have an Apple TV plus app but in fact I failed to check for and run the update immediately and had I done so I would have found the Apple TV plus app was part of the update. Lesson here is run the update immediately.Tv picture quality right out of the box, in my opinion, is excellent. And if you’re thinking about getting a new tv and are looking at the OLED tv’s vs. the LCD’s do your due diligence and learn how any new tv will look in your home with your lighting and distancing. We are very happy with this Sony OLED tv and the cherry on top of this was the price, the ability to make 5 payments over 5 months and free delivery. I’m sure the new OLED’s are very bright and exceptional looking but I’m quite happy with tis tv especially for $2,000 less.A tip of the hat to both Sony and Amazon.

I did months of research before selecting this TV.What I wanted:- deep blacks, backlight separation to prevent blooming … blacks are awesome, watching space movies where you have white stars on a black background of space is amazing to see; the background is completely black, the stars are white with fantastic contrast and no backlight leaking through close to the stars.- fantastic color … incredibly rich colors- Android OS… Easy install of Kodi, Woohoo!- Processor speed … a little faster pagination than Amazon fire stick 4K- upconverting … makes old movies 480 res look like 720, 720 look like 1080… pretty impressive upconverting IMO.The only thing I don’t like is the remote, it’s too long and too hard for my taste. I synced my fire stick remote, works great!

Hands down best TV OLED you can buy!I’ll go a step further and say this is the Best TV of 2020 especially if you can buy it for $1700 or less.I promise you’ll be amazed with the picture quality! After two months I’m still blown away with the picture on this TV. I previously had a high end Samsung TV Qled technology, and this by far is superior, no matter if it’s a 4k movie, 1080p, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, they all look better, more realistic, better black level, better white, red, Amazing!! Sony has it’s own expertise, technology and know how, I was going back and forth between the Panasonic Oled, the LG CX Oled with better features such as HDMI 2.1, 120, VRR. None of that will matter! Focus on the picture quality not gimmicks which won’t be used, unnecessary for the next 5 years and even then something better, some new must have features will come out and tell you what you got in 2020 not good enough. No! Don’t fall for it.My advice: Go to a store which has This Sony Oled TV, compare to the competition and see which one is better. Do some research and Google each TV, search on YouTube reviews. THE Sony A8H is King!

After having this TV for almost a week, I think I have a pretty good idea.Setting up the TV is easy, especially if you have a friend around to be an extra set of eyes.Out of the box, the picture quality looks stunning…There are settings that, in my opinion, you MUST change if you use Apple TV like me.In Apple TV’s Setting>Video and Audio, turn on 4k Dolby Vision as well as range and frame rate for Match Content. In audio format, make sure Dolby Atmos is On.Under Settings>Watching TV>External Inputs>HDMI Signal Format, change everything to “Enhanced.”Under Settings>Display and sound>Picture, choose Dolby Vision Bright or Custom and also turn off Auto Picture Mode and Light Sensor.Adjust all other Settings after you watch movies and Films for 100 hours to your liking.***Sometimes, when Dolby Vision is not available, the Picture Setting changes back to Custom. So, make sure to adjust those to your liking, and don’t worry, when Dolby Vision is available, the TV settings will automatically recall back to the way you set them for Dolby Vision.***This Tv is not Ideal for Gamers as it can not refresh 120Hz and Max is 60HZ, and it doesn’t have HDMI 2.1.

a total delight to watch,I have found the picture the best I have ever seen.as i have told people to compare oled with qled at the store when you could go in,there’s no doubt you will pick oled.I went with sony because of the android smart operating system, the digital tuner, because i have antennas for over the air reception and the ethernet connection for faster wifi,After a long setup i have a wonderful tv with alexa and am extremely happy wih my purchase.

Hands down, The Best Picture, and easiest, finest TV I’ve ever seen, EVER! And I’m a 50 year TV Media Pro, who’s seen every Network/Production Studio Monitor at optimum performance with pristine source content running since before Digital HD Broadcasting was even dreamt of. Now Flat Surface Speaker technology does have its limitations, and even though Sony has made the onboard sound work well beyond expectations, the Klipsch Soundbar 48 I’m using still provides a more satisfying, authoritative soundscape, it’s not bad all by itself for audio. And the improved Android OS is a bit buggy, but nothing a brief restart doesn’t fix whenever software gets stuck (as All software does), but who cares. Just buy it! When properly tweaked, every glance at the 65″ OLED display makes me say “Holy Sh*t! What a Picture!!!!!”.

What an awesome and amazing unit! We’re not technical audio and video experts by any means. But if the BEST picture and sound from a TV is tops on your list and of the highest priority, you will NOT be disappointed with this Sony AH8 OLED Ultra 4K HDTV!If you’re a serious or ultimate gamer, LG OLED is a better overall choice. But again, if you’re NOT a gamer like us, this unit is YOUR baby! Absolutely breathtaking and stunning picture and sound quality, right out of the box! This unit is THAT great. We tweaked and calibrated the unit a tad, based on my readings, research and technical recommendations. But this was all too easyand very straightforward to accomplish. In closing, we love everything about this amazing OLED 4K HDTV.So incredibly razor sharp, detailed, crisp, with superb stunning and very lifelike colors and the blackest blacks and infinite contrast we’ve ever seen. It’s without a doubt, the BEST high performance HDTV we’ve ever own.To test our new setup, we took in Marvel’s mega blockbuster, “The Avengers Endgame. And talk about a true cinematic adventure and experience!!We were completely BLOWN AWAY! The sight and sound experience was truly out of this world spectacular!Hard to believe Sony can actually improve on this incredible level of cinematic perfection! Talk about delivering the goods!!!Thank you, Sony for this product offering. Sony has truly hit a GRAND SLAM with this unit. Get it. You simply won’t be disappointed. As for the audio, Sony’s Acoustic Surface Audio is very innovative and also delivered in spades. The sound field was very wide, realistic and multidimensional and has to be truly experienced first hand. For our purpose, this technology more than meets our sound expectations. No need for an external sound bar or even an cumbersome and dedicated audio video receiver, though you could of course. We have always been loyal Sony XBR fans going back years. Make no mistake, this OLED 4K HDTV is as good as it gets in terms of bringing a truly movie like, cinematic experience to your home. The Sony AH8 OLED Ultra 4K HDTV is THAT good. Also, whether it’s turned ON or OFF, this unit is one sexy, gorgeous, ultra thin, black baby to behold. Will enhance any interior decor. It has ours!! Well done, Sony! Highly recommended.UPDATE : May 2021Sony just recently released their new 2021 top of the line, AJ90 OLED model. However, again, if you’re not a serious gamer, the 2020 A8H specs every bit as well as the new 2021 model, costing hundreds of dollars more.Just read the very detailed review by TechReview today, in a very comprehensive side-by-side comparison of both the 2020 A8H and Sony’s latest for 2021, their AJ90.This includes the most important attributes, notably overall picture quality, theatrical /movie, TV, and PRO sports performance, sharpness, and sound. From a sheer performance perspective, the AH8 is identical to the newer, more expensive AJ90, with the latter featuring HDMI 2.1 inputs to support next GEN gaming modes. So, unless you MUST have the latest and greatest version, save yourself the $money$ and just get the A8H!You’ll be glad you did! After reading the latest review, I’m very grateful I did and even more happy than ever. And no, no need to thank me for this either!Best regards.

As far as picture quality goes, I don’t have any complains. The panel is top notch while Sony’s excellent processing provides another real-life quality improvement. Motion smoothing doesn’t leave any obvious artifact, while upscaling works just as you would expect. The picture doesn’t quite “pop” as LG TVs do, but the color is more accurate and is just more comfortable watching. The TV is a little on the more expensive side, compared to LG models, but if you have the budget, you should totally consider it.

Got this at the $1800 Black Friday price. Two months later, I am very happy with my purchase. If you’ve done your research, you know that at the time I’m writing this review, for the price range, there are two contenders. The LG CX or the Sony a8H. My brother has the LG CX. It’s a beautiful tv that is admittedly better for video games. However, the Sony has slightly better picture quality. Color in particular is stellar on this TV. If you want to play games, go with the CX. However, if you’re like me and are primarily watching TV or Movies, go with this. You won’t regret it.

You have to understand. Sony is a luxury brand and I normally could never afford it. I do have a Sony Bravia TV. I brought that one in 2009 right after the market crash and companies gave inventory away. It was 46 inches on sale for $800. I snatched it up and never looked back. Even years later when I moved out of my parents house and got a tv for the living room my Sony was working. I wanted to buy a Sony then but Sony 65in was $3000 give or take and I was broke! I bought an LG instead 65in cost me $1200 open box deal 4yrs ago. Even after the upgraded to LG 4K UHD my 2009 Bravia stood its ground didn’t see a reason to replace it. Then the pandemic happened and during the quarantine my LG started acting up. Worked one day didn’t the next. Bought new hdmi cables cheap then more and more expensive. Went to Best Buy and one of the tech guys told me if the cable is not working then it could be the hdmi ports had burned out. I quickly realized he could be right because only 1 of the 4 ports worked. So once again I was looking for a new tv. I looked at my Sony Bravia still working after all these years and wanted that reliability again. Fortunately, for me I was shopping during a pandemic and cyber Monday. Sony was once again moving inventory! Sony A8H 65in was on sale $1798!!! I snatched it up ASAP!!! My condolences to anyone who missed the deal. When it came I took it out set it up and went blind! Let me explain. The tv turned on and I could see everything, nail lines on fingers, the pores on skin, pimples and scars and lines oh my!! It was all too much!! The colors were wonderful but I never knew how many tv stars had skin problems!! I just didn’t want to see it! I was traumatizing and awful. I went hunting online on how to fix this! The TV was too clear! It saw too much! Luckily that guy on YouTube (digital trends) showed me how to adjust the tv. I set it to Cinema mode, left the light censor on, left brightness to max (tv too dark for me), left motionflow on auto. And bam! Pores were smoothed over and now I can enjoy the tv.Unfortunately, after 5hrs of enjoying the new tv my old Bravia looked blurry and unclear. It was time to replace it : (I went to look for another Sony sale. But I didn’t want anything bigger than 49in for the bedroom. I saw the 49in x950h snatched that up too. Another excellent buy! This one is not OLED so I had to set the brightness to min (tv was too bright for me) then again put it to cinema mode and I was on my way to enjoying this tv too. You better believe with these two purchases I will be eating ramen noodles for the foreseeable future but that’s ok.P.S: I gave that old 46in Bravia to my aunt who place it in her bedroom : )
