This TV is gorgeous and in my opinion is ideal for next gen gaming. True to life colors, deep blacks (thanks to Dolby Vision), 120hz, extremely low input lag, and it looks great in both dark and well-lit rooms. Games are smooth as butter. I have my Xbox Series X in 4K 120Hz and I don’t think I can ever go back. Game mode keeps games running smoothly, and there is virtually no motion blur. 43″ is the ideal size for my bedroom, where I do most of my gaming. Also, the built in OS and apps run very well. Many smart TVs have software that is clunky and runs slowly, not this one. I am so glad I bought this TV and feel like I have future-proofed my gaming rig.

I liked the sound system in this Sony TV. I have problems hearing and with other TVs I have had to add a sound bar to hear the voices better but with this Sony TV I don’t need a sound bar and the sound is very clear.

My old TV was just wearing down to the point that a “Burn Mark” took form at a couple of corners. Figured it was time to invest in a new TV. I figured if I’m gonna get a new TV, get a 4K with a higher refresh rate. I won’t lie, I did a lot of research just trying to find any TV. A lot of TVs made the promise for a refresh rate of 124hz, but a lot of public reviews for those same TVs note the HDMI ports were all 60hz.Eventually I come across this Sony TV X85J series and while it does have 4 ports, two of them only support the 124hz while the other two is 60. Which is fine, at least when I get a 4K Blu-Ray or a PS5 (which will be a LONG time before I can, thanks to Parasite Scalpers) I’ll be prepared to maximize the potential. The Smart part of the TV honestly caught me by surprise, I wasn’t expecting for my TV to just connect to the internet and yet, it did. Set up was kind of confusing too but once I fiddled around I understood and got a more comfortable set up.Watching movies and shows is REALLY night and day from the old TV. Granted the old one still did 1080p but honestly the X85J squeezes the color, it looks beautiful. While the Nintendo Switch can’t get the 124hz refresh rate, games like Smash Bros. DragonBall FighterZ, and even Monster Hunter Rise just makes all those colors pop. And when I do make use of the the refresh rate, it makes a lot of movies and shows I watch on here look smooth and clean. The only downside is I can only make use of the 124hz refresh rate from streaming apps at the moment because I don’t have the hardware means… yet… But I took full advantage of when I connected the TV to my internet and downloaded a lot of apps. The first movie I played was Godzilla vs. Kong when my Blu-Ray copy came with a free digital download, and I doubt I will ever go back to the 1080p for movies.I do love this TV and I can’t wait for the day I get a PS5 because that’s gonna make a lot of games I got look beyond great. You might notice though I did 4 star the money value. While this is still a pretty affordable high-end TV, the 55 model was actually going for the same price as the 50. Why is that a problem? The problem is the 55 was too big for my current entertainment center while the 50 inch fit perfectly so I got the 50. I had to pay the smaller one for the same as the bigger one and I won’t lie I’m a little bummed about it.One other note that I find a bit annoying at the beginning is every Input has its own visual settings (Brightness, Contrast, ect.). In the long run it’s kind of smart, you can literally have every input be a different visual output for certain media preferences. But its annoying in the beginning because if you have multiple devices to hook up, you got to set it to how you want it for every single one which makes it a little inconvenient. But once its set, it stays like it until you change it.All in all, I really do enjoy this TV. Was it expensive, yes, oh very much so. Did I have to pay that much… no. Do I regret it? Not in the slightest. This TV has opened a whole new way of watching movies and games even look gorgeous with the color that pops out.

I bought this tv exclusively for gaming on my Xbox series x. I wanted something 4k 120hz for my pc and Xbox that wasn’t gonna be huge and expensive. This tv is great for 4k 120 hz gaming. The picture is so clear and bright and the hdr looks beautiful. When you get the tv you need to make sure you go to the input settings and change it to enhanced so you can use 4k hdr 120hz. I also turned off motion flow and cinnemotion and it made everything looks much better in 120hz mode. I’d recommend this tv to anyone who needs a tv for next generation gaming it really does look great.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Great tv. Ordered the 75” with Sony HT-X8500 soundbar. Beautiful picture quality. Soundbar automatically set itself up with TV. Games look AMAZING! Super fast set up. No lag time in loading anything. Very happy with this purchase!

I am using this is as a gaming PC monitor with the 120hz refresh rate. Gaming monitors are extremely expensive in comparison and often offer features I already have in other gadgets or don’t need (USB-C hubs, additional tilt/elevation, curved screen ). My parents owned the very first Sony Trinitron TV and the various features on this model remind me of how innovative and leading edge Sony display technology has been.

This is an easy to program smart TVs. The picture is crystal clear. The picture is different from a tv your probably used to in that it has a 3D effect. The more I watch it the better I like it. There’s no graininess only a sharp vivid picture. It was much more expensive than the average 43” tv but the picture quality and sound quality are well worth the additional cost. I rarely write reviews but this tv is worth saying good things about. I repeat the picture quality / delivery is totally different than the average tv so if you’re set in your ways you may not like it. It grows on you tho.

Ima call of duty gamer who plays a lot of competitive and a lot of other online games ima just get straight to the point . I have a monitor and had another TV thats 4K 60hz idk the input lag on it but I couldn’t chill and get decent games on my previous TV so I always stayed on my monitor witch is 0.5MS response time 120 + FPS capable for ps5 always going ham with it but Was never able to relax and get some good games on the previous TV . Was a big problem for me … this TV right here is perfect for online idk if it can better then this tbh. I have no complains nor regrets . It is capable of 4K and 120FPS at the same time once you set it up correctly and it also low input lag i felt as I played . And besides that if you don’t have a headset to use for your Console this TV is fully compatible with Bluetooth audio . I been using my Sony Speakers And Bluetooth headphones with it !! Can save money instead of buying usb wireless / wired headsets. Also the apps feel really smooth scrolling through the home menu. Built in speakers are loud . If your a gamer who wants to play more on the competitive side but don’t want a monitor to sit right next to this is Perfect . Clean Graphics Clean and Fresh Gameplay 💯💯‼️‼️

I just took delivery of the 75 inch version, this morning. Gamed on it a little bit just to test it out. Looks great and was super responsive in game mode. Variable Refresh Rate would be nice, I guess, but I don’t think that most people will care. (VRR is supposedly coming in an update, later this year, we’ll see)Blacks Look great on this television. Great contrast ratio. This TV has exceeded my expectations.Anyway, for anyone thinking about buying this one in 75 inches, I’d definitely recommend. This is the best value between the X80J and the X90J. It has a VR panel like the X90J and the same exact inputs.Extremely happy with my purchase. One of the best values of 2021.
