Upgraded from a s3 to this A9 Pro. the side programmable button is my favorite new feature. I read kindle books on my phone often and love that it’s just a click to open up where I left off. Both of my Umidigi phones are great and boy you sure can’t beat the price for an unlocked phone.

Phone comes set up for T-Mobile. However, inserting a sim card yourself, such as one bought on Amazon, will tell you to call customer service. So it doesn’t work for normal T-Mobile service, nor does it work for T-Mobile prepaid. Customer service will offer to send you another sim card for a thirty dollar charge. Attempting the ‘bring your own phone’ online setup also fails. So unless you have a functional sim and swap into into the new phone, expect trouble.Mint mobile uses T-Mobiles’ towers anyway, so if price is a consideration–you can sign up with them online and they will send you a sim and a page of settings to change. Also does not work with Cricket or Altice.I wanted Android 11 (which came installed on the A9 Pro upgraded version.) T-Mobile in store phones were still on ten. Check the description because some of these are on ten, but should upgrade to eleven since that patch is already live.Bad:I don’t like the fingerprint reader, because too many tries makes you enter the code, so I just enter the code. I also don’t like the lock screen swipe, I am either too fast or too slow, but I imagine I will get used to it.I’ve had louder speakers on speakerphone and while using headphones.Good:The programmable three feature button is easy to use and setup.I like the new bubble feature, it’s much easier to multitask while in calls. The ring tones are excellent, and felt no need to buy more of them.Processor is snappy, especially after following a 35 tips and tricks video.Setup was easy aside from the sim issues. It easily picks up Bluetooth and Wifi.Good looking.Overall it is acceptable, but anyone reading might get a better price on the larger battery and screen A11, advertised at 119$ on the Umidigi website. Perhaps its side mounted thumb reader is better.I never cared for Samsung or Apple, and Motorola seems behind the curve this year. Glad I tried something different. The videos I watched of people using 5G got a max improvement of 15% while standing next to a tower, so I don’t feel I am missing much.

I like this phone very much unlike other phones in this price range they are slow low memory lag behind and sucky battery lifePros.. look can I say it looks and feel premium the glossy back is a finger print magnet but it def will turn heads. It comes with a screen protector and a clear case come on this by is self is amazing its highly appreciated. Memory space 128gb and 8 gb roms I can literally run any app no issues plus with the micro SD still an option I can do so much more I love it battery life is decent about 7-10 hr screen time depending on what your doing will last more then a day if on stand by.Middle ground camera even tho they have made alot of changes and upgrades it is better in daylight it will get the job doneCon yes I have a con thermal sensor for temperature is def a hit or miss it isn’t as accurate as I would like it’s better if you place close to object for about 30 sec and then read temp could just be a learning curve.Overall if you need a back up phone a main phone or kids phone it will be one of the best purchases you make. I compare it to a motarolla stylus and I think this one for price features and looks beats it for me.Plays pubg HD setting high with little to no stutterPlay getting impact wellPlays all emulators including citra and dolphinRetro arch is great to use for emulation I highly recommend for a gaming device too

This is a good phone for the price. The phone feels solid and I love the green color. The included case is a nice touch. The phone comes with Android 10…I wish it came with at least Android 11 since it was just released. I also like that it was not filled with bloatware. The apps that were installed were minimal like YouTube, Gmail, Google Drive and just a few others part of the Android/Google ecosystem. Installation of additional apps worked great this time…some other Umidigi phones seem to “stall” when apps were installed from the Google Play store, but the A9 Pro installed them without any lags. I use the phone as a spare and mainly for watch streaming services and the phone does great in that area. Everything seems zippy and responsive. I did notice that the camera was a bit “slow” when taking pictures in low light. Other than, this phone serves the purposes I need at a good price for an updated phone. Also, the phone works great on T-Mobile network.

Much better specs compared to phones from more popular brands sold in the US. Also has all the bands for LTE connection that many other Chinese brands don’t have. Just compare the specs yourself, this has a huge battery and camera comparable to phones well over $300 from the main carriers. Also it looks absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend this phone. I have used it for a month with zero problems on Cricket Wireless.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I recently bought the Umidigi A9 Pro the one with a thermometer built in. I bought this brand because have good durability and great build phones. My last Umidigi hit the floor many times and still works well. This phone runs fast have a beautiful 6.0 inches screen still be a budget phone. the battery durance along the day. I like too much its beautiful design. The thermometer is very accurate in people and things and I still liking the 3mm headphone jack in a phoneIt’s not a gaming phone but runs well with many games in medium and hi definition. The cameras works very well great contrast colors and dynamics has a great 48 MP and 8x zomm and great night photos in normal modeThe processor and memory runs day to day apps fastNeed improvements:The screen can be brighter. The integrated speaker is nice in moderated volume but start distortioning in high volume. It holds the finger prints in all the body because the glass finish and phone’s color. The night pictures software still need improvesCamera in record mode need more stabilizationStill a great value phone for the budget

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Beautiful phone. Love the specs. Have to say that I am a Umidigi fan. This is a must have phone if you are looking for an inexpensive watch with great specs. I tried to grab the looks of the phone on the video, take a look. There’s this new feature which takes body and objects temperature, which is pretty accurate. It supports lots of 4G bands. It will most probably support your current carrier in the USA, however check the bands of your carrier and the ones supported by the A9 Pro. Waiting for the S5 Pro to be on sale in Amazon, as soon as it is I will get that phone. In the meanwhile I will enjoy the A9 Pro.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Having had Umidigi phones in the past, this is another example that you don’t need to break the bank to have a decent phone. IT comes with Android 11.The build quality is quite good. It is essentially the same design as the A7 Pro that preceded it (and app launch button aside it fits in the same cases with some offset on the location of the fingerprint sensor), but that’s not a bad thing as it looks really nice. The cameras are fine. Not great, but fine. It gives plenty of options across the main camera, wide angle, and macro. You can get a picture of just about anything with the phone due to the flexibility of having 3 different cameras. The display is nice and the colors look fine. The viewing angles are fine. The fingerprint reader is responsive. The p60 cpu is reasonably quick. If you’re familiar with chromebooks at all, it’s basically the CPU you’d find in a Chromebook. The 8gb of ram is just awesome (twice as much as the chromebook that has the same cpu!). Combined with the UFS storage, this is a huge improvement over the performance of the A7 Pro. I haven’t noticed any UI stutter and apps install and update from the play store MUCH faster than they did on the A7 Pro. The model I purchased comes with 128gb of internal storage and you can add even more with an SD card. It had no problems reading the 256gb microsd card that I put into it.I like the dedicated app button to launch whatever you want. It is pretty useful to have quick access to the thermometer, camera, and flashlight which you can have all at the same time between single press, long press, and double press of the button. You’ll have a much nicer time with media consumption paired with headphones (it has a jack!) or bluetooth headphones. The thermometer it’s accurate in my testing when used 1-3cm (1.2 inches) away from your subject as the app suggests. Accuracy appears to improve with direct contact with the subject, however. So if you’re having trouble getting an accurate reading, place the sensor directly on whatever or whoever it is you’re trying to measure and that may get you closer to the actual temp.Out of the box, you don’t have to buy any additional accessories to protect your phone which is nice. The phone comes with a screen protector pre installed and a clear case for the phone itself. On the software side, there’s a lot to like. It comes with the google phone dialer as default which is great for filtering spam calls. It uses Googles message’s app so you’ll get RCS messaging right out out of the box. It uses a clean android skin. You’ll be able to keep quite a few apps running at the same time before android itself starts closing things. The battery will last you almost 2 days (one full day for sure using it all the time). At the end of the day, a nice phone, great features, totally recommended.

Nice phone for the price! It has a pretty decent processor (helio P60) and the 128GB version comes with 8GB of RAM, which is impressive! At this price point I don’t think you can get a faster phone from any other brand. Because of the snappy processor and the large amount of RAM, you can definitely run all sort of tasks without noticing any huge lag. Also, the phone has multiple cameras, with the main one being 48 mega pixel, which lets you take beautiful pictures (I’m attaching some taken at low light that came out pretty good despite the weather conditions).Following my PROS and CONS:PROS:-Large and bright display-Battery lasting a full day with heavy usage (2 with moderate use, more with low usage)-Supports many GSM LTE bands, especially useful for international travellers and for people that live in rural areas-Dual SIM (you can have 2 lines working at the same time. For example, ATT & T-Mobile)-Good call quality-Supports WIFI calling and Voice Over LTE-Good processor (p60) and 8GB of RAM-Snappy face unlock/fingerprint-Thermometer-Runs Android 11-Comes with pre-installed screen protector and clear caseCONS:-not the best speaker, but it does the job-on the heavy side (however, that’s because of the large battery)-somewhat bulkyHonestly, I don’t think you can get anything better out there at this price point, so definitely worth it!

This is a review of the 2021 8gb/128gb model. The way the models are listed on the Amazon page is confusing because it might as well be two different phones with similar specs. You have two basic choices here. 4gb ram with 64gb storage and Android 10 versus 8gb of ram with 128gb of storage with a better camera, an allegedly updated thermometer feature, and Android 11. With, at time of this writing, a $40 price difference. Why couldn’t Umidigi update the 4gb model to Android 11 considering it’s basically the same exact phone with less ram? Who knows? Having had Umidigi phones in the past, you can expect about one year of intermittent security patches, but I’ve not known this OEM to ever provide a major android update and I wouldn’t buy the 4gb model expecting an update to Android 11. If you want this phone and Android 11, I cannot stress this enough, buy the more expensive 8gb/128gb model. The model I purchased (8gb/128gb) has the March 2021 security update applied at the time I wrote this review. The build quality is quite good. It is essentially the same design as the A7 Pro that preceded it (and app launch button aside it fits in the same cases with some offset on the location of the fingerprint sensor), but that’s not a bad thing as it looks really nice. The fingerprint reader is responsive. The cameras are fine. Not great, but fine. It gives plenty of options across the main camera, wide angle, and macro. The viewing angles are fine. The p60 cpu is reasonably quick. If you’re familiar with chromebooks at all, it’s basically the CPU you’d find in the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. It is pretty useful to have quick access to the thermometer, camera, and flashlight which you can have all at the same time between single press, long press, and double press of the button. The speaker is….there? The speaker really isn’t very good to my ears, but it’s there when you need it. You can watch a youtube video just fine, but my ears are pretty sensitive to harsh, tinny sounds and I have to say I really don’t like the way it sounds (this is obviously a personal preference and just about every budget phone these days comes with terrible speakers). You’ll have a much nicer time with media consumption paired with headphones (it has a jack!) or bluetooth headphones. The thermometer does not appear to be very accurate in my testing when used 1-3cm (1.2 inches) away from your subject as the app suggests. Accuracy appears to improve with direct contact with the subject, however. So if you’re having trouble getting an accurate reading, place the sensor directly on whatever or whoever it is you’re trying to measure and that may get you closer to the actual temp. The phone comes with a screen protector pre installed and a clear case for the phone itself. It comes with the google phone dialer as default which is great for filtering spam calls. It uses Googles message’s app so you’ll get RCS messaging right out out of the box. It uses a clean android skin. The only bloat it comes with is an app called Zello that you can uninstall. In the settings there is an addition called Dura speed that I do not recommend using as it will kill apps in the background which can prevent you from receiving notifications if it stops an app/service you rely on. Not to mention, there’s 8gb of ram here….you’ll be able to keep quite a few apps running at the same time before android itself starts closing things.
