I did a lot of research before buying 2 of the Wahoo Ticker Fits for myself and my wife. Turns out nearly all of the negative reviews we read about had an easy fix. A little trial and error in where to place the sensor on your body goes a long ways in eliminating dropouts and false readings. Experiment with Bluetooth connectivity with your phone, especially when bike riding, keep the distance short. I wear mine just below my shoulder when cycling and on the same side as my phone carrier. Also, do NOT use any sunscreen or lotion! With a little common sense these are exceptional HRM’s that work very well. The batteries last a really long time and are easily charged with the magnetic USB clip, remaining charge is shown on the app.The factory App is basic, which I like, yet shows all of the important stuff. It has a wide variety of named workout routines, including cycling and skiing, and the ability to modify or easily create your own named routine. After imputing personal stats it auto-computes your personal heart rate ranges and calories burned, along with easy to read graphs that track each other. On our bike rides we get a detailed map of our route with elevation, speed, and heart rate graphs. Additional pages of collected data can be added at will. The stationary workout routines of course do not show mileage or elevation and are tailored to the workout you choose, all of which are saved in history and easily retrieved or deleted. Linking is easy to a plethora of fitness apps. I personally just use the factory app, but my wife links to Google Fit.Cleaning is easy with mild soap and water as the sensor is waterproof with no battery doors. I had heard how flimsy the band was, really? Its a soft Velcro band that is very comfortable and after a month of daily use and a few cleanings I see no signs of visible wear. That said, it is not stainless steel or hard plastic which would no doubt last longer at the price of comfort. I think the band is a non issue, when and if I wear it out I’ll just replace it, to me comfort is more important than extreme longevity.Bottom line is we are extremely satisfied and glad we did not listen to some of the bad reviews or get a wrist watch or the chest strap type. Is it perfect? No, and you will need to experiment a little to get your personal ‘sweet spot’ for where to place it on your body. After that it will perform very well. We use them daily!

I love this. I do not like the chest straps, and as an avid road biker my Apple Watch doesn’t really sync to Garmin Connect, Strava or other popular apps. This one does, supports ANT+ and Bluetooth, and the battery is rated at a crazy 30 hours in between charges. Couldn’t tell you how long it lasts in practice. I ride for about 2 1/2 hours at a time and if I don’t charge it for four rides, it’s still going strong. Some have complained about the strap. So far I’m 1000 miles in, no problems. Accuracy is great, tracks well to what my Apple Watch reports.

This is my 3rd optical hr monitor- used primarily for running (daily) and sometimes cycle (weekly). the Mio Link and Scosche Rhythm+ were my other two, each lasting 2 years. The Mio had the most durable strap- that stayed on when swimming- but would pick up cadence and had only an 8 hr battery. The Scosche was a bit more reliable, sometimes but seldom picking up cadence, and bands would last about 6 mos, and easily replaced. Battery life 7hrs. I’ve had this Wahoo for a few months now and it’s the smallest, most comfortable, the band- unlike prior comments, seems to be holding up well, it has yet to pick up my cadence and seems to be spot-on with my HR. And- the best part- is the (spec) 30hr of battery life. So far- my best optical HR monitor yet. Now my HR monitor will last for any Ultra race, an IM, or a 2 week vacation without bringing the charger. Nice!

I am an avid amateur cyclist and was very frustrated with chest heart rate straps that slipped down, quit working, needed batteries changed every few weeks, and/or were just plain uncomfortable. My husband suggested and armband monitor and I went with the Wahoo, based on its 30 hour battery life. (I have done 10 hour bike races and needed the longer life.) I will never use a chest strap again!! The armband TICKR is very reliable, comfortable and yes, the battery does last 30 hours or longer. The armband slips off the mechanism with ease so I can wash it occasionally. I average 250 miles (12 hours per week) on the bike in the summer and I charge this about every 10-14 days–but my charging is proactive–it has only died once when I couldn’t find the charger! Highly recommend.

Finally. I got rid of the chest strap. I use the HR monitor for road cycling and mountain biking. The chest strap was it for years. The problem is that the chest strap is uncomfortable. And if you have a GoPro harness on your chest or a chest strap for a hydration pack, it’s worse. I researched my alternative, and ended up with the Wahoo band. It works like a charm. It’s comfortable, and it’s unobtrusive. It works with my Garmin Edge. I haven’t run into battery limitations, and the magnetic charging clip is a cinch to use.It took 15 minutes of practice and adjustment to figure out how to properly put it on (it goes on your upper forearm). Once I’ve figured it out, it takes a few seconds. What about accuracy? Isn’t optical less accurate than electrical? In all honesty… I don’t care. It seems accurate. It tells me my HR just the same. If I were to find out that it’s 2% less accurate than my chest strap, would it diminish the utility? Not in the slightest. So far I am very happy with this product.

I am an avid cyclist who has used chest straps with electrode paste for years. This product pairs instantly with Garmin and Peloton and iPhone apps. Accurate, stays in place, comfortable. Rechargeable, long battery life. What’s not to like? I won’t be going back to the chest strap.

I am a 56 year old man who has been riding most of my life. About 3 years ago, i was hit by a car on my motorcycle and was forced to stop riding. This year I have started riding again. I have slightly elevated blood pressure That being said, I am concerned about my heart rate while riding and had had no luck with the monitors you wear on your chest. This monitor does exactly what its supposed to do . I have had no problems with the strap ( about 200 miles riding with it) and would recommend it.

Bought this TICKR HR monitor for use while road cycling in the mountains, as well as in spin classes. I primarily chose Wahoo because I already use their speed/cadence sensors on my road and TT bikes, and have their app on my phone. It works like a charm! Pairs quickly, is comfortable to wear and does not lose signal. I’ve been wearing it like a watch on my left wrist and am super impressed with how it consistently delivers accurate HR info. You’re supposed to wear it on your forearm or upper arm but I find that the wrist is more comfortable and delivers the same results. Really excellent little product for the serious cyclist / spinner.

Love it but it doesn’t show the battery status anywhere. Gadgets (Garmin watch) inform you only when it’s low battery. Not practical at all.Charging cable is very thin, had to wrap it otherwise it’ll surely become faulty/break much sooner than expected. I hope they have a more durable one in the future.Otherwise battery life is very long. No discomfort of the chest HRM.

We have two of these and use it with our peloton and hydrow. Never have any issues connecting. Works 100% better than the monitor that came with the peloton!
